This is a great place to get out of town and go relax. I enjoy walking along the paths that surround the ponds or use the paths as well for riding my bike. The park connects to another park via trails as well as connects you to downtown on the trails. I would say my favorite part is taking my cousin out on the kayaks. They have a separate part in the park where you can rent kayaks, stand up paddle boards and paddle boats. It is reasonably priced and goes by the hour. By the time we paddle out, go around the lake and back we have already hit a hour so it is a decent size lake to have fun on! I have not gone to beach area or the kids water play area but it always seems like everyone is having fun. I want to check out the beach area soon. They do close the gates at sunset so make sure you get your car out before then!

We’ve bought season memberships to the beach since the kids were old enough to splash around in the shallows. The water has a bit of vegetation and goop floating in it, but the beach is nice enough. They have foot sprays to wash the sand off your feet on the way out. The locker room /rest rooms could be a bit larger and better designed though. Crowd is mostly families with small children.

Super easy Grand Rapids spot to get too. Lots of water options, especially for the kids. Also, they have a snack bar and good changing facilities. Super economical choice for the GR area and a couple hours + if you need something to do on a hot summer day.

A piece of paradise right outside our city, Millennium Park is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. You don’t have to be a hiker to enjoy this vast park, the trails throughout are well paved and maintained. From sun bathing to boating, walking, biking, exploring and fishing, this reclaimed industrial business park will be exactly the close to home vacation spot we all need.

Had a family reunion here yesterday. Though it was a great location. The park was very accommodating, as there was a major event happening yesterday and they sectioned off a small corner of the parking lot so all of the family had a place to park. We ended staying there the whole day, and the park attendants were great. Also have to say they had great bathrooms. Most parks have gross bathrooms but this one was very clean!

There is a cost of 4 dollars per adult and 2 dollars for children 3+. Nice park within the city. There is a toddler splash pad which my son enjoys and he is 3. It’s clean and there are changing areas and restrooms nearby. Beach area with sand to enjoy. There is also an area to rent canoes and paddle boats too. There are also water stations to clean your feet and sandals :) There is a food stand which sells ice cream, drinks and snacks.

This is a beautiful and apparently low-key beach. $ 4 for adults, soft plentiful sand. The only complaint is the annoying seagulls.

I went on the perfect day in my opinion. It was nice a sunny and I walked the trails that they had. I spent a few hours walking around and chatting with friends. It was a great day and I loved the environment and how friendly everyone seemed to be. I would recommend this place if you are going with a group of friends. It has a lot of outdoor space for activities. I brought a football with my friends and that was quite entertaining whenever we hit an open space on the trail. If you feel like spending the day at the park and walking or biking a trail I would highly recommend this place.

Millennium Park is awesome. The bike trails are spectacular for both biking and skating. The best bargain is to purchase the family plan right after memorial day and use it for free admission all summer. The pass will also give you a discount for boat rentals and at the snack bar. Buy it early and use it all summer. Snack bar counter help can sometimes be a bit sluggish.

Millennium Park has a beach, splashpad, and almost 20 miles of trails for biking, hiking, and more! We usually make a few visits a year to rent the paddleboats or a canoe and spend a morning doing that. Make sure you get there early in the summer because it gets packed quick! Just a 10 minute drive from downtown will make you feel like you are one with nature! While not free, at $ 2/kid and $ 4/adult, the price is hard to beat.
