Very good food and good location. I’ve never had a bad meal here and eat here fairly regularly. I’d have given a full 5 stars but last time we were in our waitress was kind of clueless. She could have been new so I’ll give it some time and come back and update as necessary. Only other complaint is for the price of a BBQ sandwich — a plain sandwich is a little pricey but mostly everything else seems reasonable.

Little Richards BBQ is certainly not what it used to be, or at least not at this location! The original one, on Country Club Rd in Winston, is far better than this version of its locally famous BBQ. This location is fairly new, maybe three years, nicely decorated, but just lacks something? The puppies are really good, the BBQ is fairly good, and the fries are usually really good! The problem seems to be the service which can be slow and non-personable! You find yourself asking for things quite often. If you have the opportunity to go to the original in Winston, then do so, you’ll certainly walk away a bit more impressed!

Coming from Eastern North Carolina, my beautiful and talented fiancé and I saw the sign with pigs running across and decided to stop in on a whim. Outside there was a sign saying«honk horn for curbside service» made my fiancé and myself a little bit nervous. But since we were both hungry and it smelled so good we laid our hesitations aside and went in. The dining room was small and had a 50’s feel with chrome chairs and the logo on the tables. They were packed. Since they don’t serve a combination plate we decided to get a chicken plate, only available two days a week and a plate of barbecue with fries, sweet potato fries, slaw. The barbecue was super tender and melts in your mouth, exploding with an excellent smoky and spicy flavor from an excellent sauce. The chicken fell off the bone and was to die for, if you love barbecue. I will eat here again without any hesitation. Portions are large and the hush puppies are delicious as well. Service is friendly and Fast! Deeee-licious!!! Lexington style barbecue has a new pair of fans.

I have had better but I also have had worse. I love the atmosphere with the vintage signs and such however, the booth seats need to be recovered duct tape dies not cut it in my opinion. Service is pretty darn quick and always friendly.

Fast service and cute décor. The staff was very friendly. The basket, yes, basket of hush puppies were delicious. The mac & cheese was more like the boxed type but still pretty good and the cole slaw was great. When we left the waitress asked if we wanted to pack our sweet tea as well. To our surprise she came back with a full to-go cup of sweet tea.

Picked up a huge to go order. $ 113 worth of food. A pan of BBQ with buns and Tator tots and 2 gallons sweet tea. When I asked for paper plates and forks I was told it would cost me .75 cents a person for paper plates and plastic forks. I find this totally unreasonable and will never pick up to go food for my clients from here again.

Got the chopped BBQ plate with 2 sides PLUS hush puppies and a hamburger bun to make a sandwich. It came out to about $ 8. Lot of food for what you pay. The food was amazing, and I will definitely be back.

Little Richard’s Barbeque in Walkertown has come down since my first visit. The restaurant is in a shopping center right off the junction of Highway 158 and highway 66. The menu is on their website at The potato salad is good and slaw just ok. The red slaw is a vinegar overdose, which I could not find any pleasure in. The brisket used to be super tender but this time was tough and dry. Their hamburgers are 1⁄3 pound and under $ 5 with onion rings but I have not tried them. This is too bad.

This place is consistently excellent. I eat here for lunch quite frequently. The chopped pork plate is very tasty. I’ve had the Brunswyck Stew here too & it’s quite good. All the sides I’ve had I’ve enjoyed. Slaw, Potato salad, pintos. All good. The wait staff is friendly & on top of things. The restaurant is very clean & so are the rest rooms. Honestly, I can’t think of a bad thing to say about this place. I’ll be back for sure and I’ll bring some friends too!

Our family tried a number of things, family-style — difficult because everything was served in baskets. But of the chunky(coarse-chopped) bbq sandwich, smoked wing-dings, loaded hot dog, & brisket sandwich, the brisket was the unanimous favorite. Get it with house-made chips. The hush puppies are tiny and unimpressive, & the fries are from frozen.

This was our first visit to this new(opened in 2012) location of this Clemmons based barbecue chain — there are 4 locations in all, including Yadkinville & Mt Airy. This is a nice place — clean & bright, with retro signs and ads on the walls, and dark wood booths. All four locations cook their own pork, and they do it daily — so you’re getting fresh pig here, and there will be some slight differences in the end product, as well. They cook shoulders over night, but they use hickory chips only — no split logs or charcoal, so there is a limited amount of smokiness to the finished product. You do smell the smoky when you step out of the car, which is nice but strange in this new, modern shopping center location. The Chopped Plate($ 7.69) comes with 2 sides and bread. — you can get the barbecue Sliced or Chunky(coarse chopped I guess), as well — and you can request some«Outside Brown», which is always cool. They also offer BBQ Chicken, Ribs, and Texas Beef Brisket. The chop here is a medium one, giving nice texture to very tender, moist meat, which comes ouit of the kitchen very well sauced, in fact as heavily sauced as any ‘cue I’ve encountered in North Carolina, regardless of the style of the barbecue. All in all, this is very good Lexington style BBQ, and the sauce is excellent with more available on the table — they bring the bottle out warm! The sauce has some nice heat, which will slowly builds as you eat. The offer both a BBQ Slaw and Cole Slaw, both nice. The Hushpuppies are small & round, with a nice outside crust, tender & moist inside, hint of onion — this is a very good HP. We tried the Hot Dog($ 2.19) and this is a nice dog — toasted bun, tasty chili, decent weiner. The Cheeseburger($ 4.29) is 1⁄3 lb, buit is really only average in taste, and is a bit over priced. The FFs are simply horrible — ridged logs without taste. The Homemade Chips($ 1.99) are excellent — thin, crispy, loaded with flavor — the accompanying Ranch Dressing is bland. Very friendly service, though time out of the kitchen is a bit longer than most BBQ joints — our order took 25 minutes, no one around us did any better. Much to bring us back though, and they’re open for lunch on Sunday.

2 words SMOKEDWINGS. Man are they the ! I have had the pleasure of getting take out from Little Richard’s several times and eating in house once. I have enjoyed everything I have had. As I mentioned, the smoked wings are the bomb and the chopped BBQ is very, very good. You get PLENTY of food for your money and a mountain of hushpuppies with almost everything. #win

Chopped BBQ tray($ 5.99) was good. I didn’t see any fat in the Q, BBQ slaw was good, and the hushpuppies were good. I got a Cheerwine to drink. Good service. Like the décor inside.

Service was awesome, restaurant clean and the food was Good. The BBQ is a bit smokey and the sauce heavy. Certainly different than the BBQ served at the original Little Richards on Country Club Rd. In fact the entire menu is different from the original restaurant so don’t expect the same taste or offerings.

As far as BBQ places of the triad area go, this one defiantly tops my list. The food is fairly priced and also taste great! The restaurant is very VERY well done. While yes it is a new restaurant(12⁄2012) it is clean, hopefully it continues to stay this way. The service is great and friendly. To be honest this is the best experience that I have ever had at a BBQ restaurant… Would recommend this place to anyone, and I would drive past other BBQ places to eat here… Keep up the good work Little Richard… I hope my opinion doesn’t change over the coming months and hopefully years :)
