Visiting from out of state. This place is delicious! The chicken wings are recommended. They were super. They have some local wine as well. My favorite cocktail, The Sinister Kid. I highly recommend! And the service was top notch. The vibe is casual, yet classy with original food and drink options. Given all the wine bars around here seem to close way early, I recommend coming here for your after party.

Over rated. The food was under welming. We ordered their Truffle fries, from the looks of what we got it was the end of a batch — small bits and pieces, not long cut fries. Along with the fries we ordered their Public House Burger, which according to our waitress, was fantastic. Well, not so. We ordered it medium to pink and it came well done. It was supposed to come with bacon and I think I found maybe a third of a piece of bacon. The only positive was the beer. It was cold and full flavored. Scratch another restaurant of our list for Walla Walla. The list keeps getting shorter and shorter.

Great atmosphere. Great location and great food. Love the mac and cheese with pork belly! its a must try when they bring it back to the menu,(cough cough) That was obviously a hint, or me begging for it to be brought back.

Slowwww unattentive service, snooty, yuppy food. Very disappointing all in all. Want fast, good food with a smile? Go elsewhere!

Great place to grab a bite to eat. They have unique things on their menu that will definitely spice things up. They are very busy so service was a little slow but the server was very nice and helpful. Would love to come back when they are less busy. Had the duck enchilada and house salad and it was amazing!

This was where we had our most casual dinner in Walla Walla. True to its name, this place is better described as a pub than a restaurant, and, just to bring the point home, it’s 21 and over only, so leave the kids at home and think of it as a bar that serves high end pub food. The food was good — I had the house burger(juicy, with bacon, pickled onions and a heaping side of fires) and the partner had the catch of the day(another Walla Walla seafood success story) — and the service was solid. The atmosphere was very«pubby,» so don’t head over unless your up for ambient music and lots of folks eating alto voce. We brought our own wine and were only charged a $ 10 corkage fee. Any down sides? Not really, but it’s worth noting that while the food was good it wasn’t great(though very solid for the price point), and the menu options were relatively limited(this place really is a bar). The noise level was fine but more than what we would have preferred for dinner(see the early comment about this place being a bar). Still, if you know all of this going in, you should have a pretty positive experience.

Duck confit salad is the bomb. Enchilada is solid, covered in slaw with a bit of heat. Great liquid selection. TV’s for the game. I’ll be back.

Looking for quality food in Walla Walla is not easy! Public House 124 cares just as much about their ingredients as they do their customers! I was desperate for a burger and a beer, and trusty Unilocal led me here. I asked the super friendly bartender Layton his advice on the menu, and he steered me toward the standard burger and fries. Nothing standard about either! The burger was amazing with fresh produce, sweet onions, on a bun baked that day. The fries were hand cut, and perfectly seasoned. Combined with a great stout on tap, I had found exactly what I was looking for. Thanks Layton!

This place has great cocktails. I love their interesting combinations, and that they change their menu with the seasons. The atmosphere is really cool and trendy, and it’s always busy but not too loud. Their truffle fries are to die for! The cheese plate, however, was really expensive and you really only get three very small portions of cheese, so I wouldn’t recommend that. The staff is attentive, and the bar tenders seem like they enjoy their work, which always makes the drink taste better.

As an out-of-towner from California, we received the warm welcome and wonderful food that keep us warm. The atmosphere and service was great. The food is exceptional just as expected to grab lunch and drink. Truffle fries, yes, signature burger, and a glass of wine. We had a great lunch out with local people there. It’s a great memory in washington for sure.

Summary: if your thinking about going here stop. Think about checking out some place else. I have no idea if the food is good or bad, the service was so terrible I didn’t stick around to find out how the food was. Details: I walked in to a mostly open dinning room. The sign off to the side said please wait to be seated. So I waited a couple minutes to find out if I would be seated. Much to my dismay and the bartender and another young lady behind the bar stood there and looked at me several times almost as if they were trying to determine if I was waiting to be seated or if I was in mirage. I’m going to stop here and imply say I left without spending any additional money on food simply because of the bar tender. We all have bad days… I know! I’m not above having them myself, however, as a service professional we have to get past our issues and focus on the customer.

We had a phenomenal dinner experience here and when we come back to Walla Walla, we will be back! We wanted to find a place where we could sit outside and bring our dog! This place was more than accommodating to us having him there! The food was very delicious, they had great drink choices, and the service was spot on. My husband had the burger with an egg and great fries! I had the pork chop special!

During the Wheelin Walla Walla Car Show, my wife and I decided to try the Public House 124. It’s located right on Main street with limited outside seating and a fair amount of indoor seating including a bar area. Long story short, the Public House 124 is a bar that happens to serve some food. Its menu is pretty limited but its bar offerings are huge. We tried the chicken wings with Asian pear salad and the BLT with truffle fries; both are Public House specialties. The chicken wings came out and were very well done, double fried to make them both crispy outside and moist on the inside with a tasty lightly salted, honey accented soy based sauce. The Asian pear salad was well done prepared with a light oil and cilantro dressing. The Bacon-Lettuce-Tomato sandwich is quintessentially American. Classically it is made with mayonnaise, bacon, lettuce, tomato and toasted bread and can trace its lineage back to the fifties. While it has simple ingredients, the execution of the sandwich and selection of those ingredients makes the dish. The lettuce should be crisp iceberg or romaine since the lettuce is a textural component vice flavor. The tomato should be shockingly fresh with the slightly acidic taste to compliment the sweetness of the mayonnaise and the saltiness of the bacon. The bacon should be crisp with maybe a slight chewiness. The bread should be lightly toasted on both sides, firm(either by toasting or composition or both) and have a slightly sweet/buttery mouth feel. All of these ingredients combined make a sandwich that is at once simple yet has a variety of flavors and textures. The Public House BLT misses, IMHO, on several points. It uses the mesclun salad mix better left in a salad bowl then in this sandwich since it lacks the textural components of iceberg or romaine and tends to add slightly bitter flavors that compete with the mayonnaise and bacon. The bacon is quite meaty but not crispy and so another textural component is missed. It does have a good flavor. The mayonnaise seemed missing; I didn’t pick up a sweet saucy component. The bread was partially toasted but was firm enough for that textural component but missing was the sweet/buttery mouth-feel. The tomato slice is huge but has a good acidity and sweetness… it’s just huge. Now the truffle fries were another story. I suppose The Colorado Room in Ft Collins has set a pretty high bar on French fries IMHO. They are perfect. The Public House fries were mostly limp(too wet and too short a time frying) with some stuck together(wet again). However, they weren’t particularly greasy. The truffle salt didn’t seem that special and was pretty much like regular salt to me. Our waitress did a pretty good job with quick service. So, overall a bar that serve decent food, especially the chicken wings with Asian pear salad. Prices seemed a bit steep when compared to other similar bar/restaurants like Red Monkey or Stone Hut.

Wonderful atmosphere! This is a great place to feel relaxed and at ease. The noise level is Pub consistent, but the staff and service are well above average. Food is great! Im familiar with the Chef«Ponti» and am glad that he brings a good culinary essence to all of his plates. I’ve never had a bad meal here. Mathew(owner) is always(just as this afternoon) so friendly and engaging to all of his customers. I ordered the«Public burger»(I usually do more often than not and its been a hit with me as always.) Just as tonight! Tonight i also had the«Huckleberry Ice cream». It was truly a treat! Again, so far I’ve never had a bad experience. And, I frequent this place often.

WOW! This place really made an impression! We got to sit at the Chef’s counter which was such a fun dining experience! At first we were hesitant thinking it might get too hot right by the cooks, but it wasn’t and the service was outstanding! They have a simple yet flavorful menu that consisted of small plates, flat breads, entrees, cocktails, and desserts. That night we went they had a special app of tempura asparagus with a red dragon sauce… oh my heavens it was delish! Everything we ordered was wonderful. Next time we visit Walla Walla, this place is on the to go to list!

You won’t go wrong here. The owner always seems to be here, making sure things are running with tip top customer service. That is no accident of why it’s a great place. It’s casual like a dive bar, but has high end gourmet bar food and quality feel about it. In fact, their food is better than some of the«middle tier» places that are more expensive, without all the fuss. This is a place that almost has a «Cheers» like feel about it — a great place to chat up the locals but great for wine tourists too. The wine selection is awesome(of course, this is Walla Walla) but they do great cocktails with a very attentive bar and wait staff. I’ve been here about 6 – 7 times and always happy I stopped in. Great service, happy people, delicious food, great prices — no wonder it’s always packed.
