I love this winery. Kurt and Vicki are wonderful hosts and the wine they produce is so good. It is very approachable and not over priced. Rulo has a great selection. I love that you can get a wine that would be a «Tuesday Night» wine and also get a one that you want to pull out for that special occasion. These are great drinking wines if all you want is a glass and they pair wonderfully with food.

Great, knowledgeable staff and the even poured us a few tastes of bottles not out(Silo Syrah and the Rosé). Both were fantastic. Our wine maker friend said you can find the Rulo Syrahs on a lot of restaurant menus, and that it’s always a safe bet for good wine at a reasonable price. We agree!

This is a little known gem. When we were dining at South Fork restaurant, we asked for a recommendaiton on wine and they recommended Rulo’s white. We loved it and wanted to visit the winery. We read the story of Vicki and Kurt on line and liked the fact they are control freaks and don’t distribute. They are very particular about their wines. She opened her doors on a Sunday, very last minute, and invited us in. She was very hospitable and cares very much about the quality of their wines. All of their wines, and I mean, all of them that we tasted were excellent. We ended up ordering a case and having it shipped home. A small boutique, family owned winery that is definitely worth your time. Good people too.

Rulo winery was our first stop in a weekend’s worth of tastings in Walla Walla and we couldn’t have hoped for a better start. Walking into the tasting area of their spotless winery, Vicki greeted us with a smile and a handful of glasses, meanwhile a friend of the family stepped outside to retrieve the winemaker from hitting golf balls out back. A visit to Rulo winery’s website will explain that the entire affair is micro managed by the husband and wife team with an abundance of passion and the expressed goal of transparency and clear communication regarding their wines and their process. I’m happy to report that a visit to Rulo in person more than substantiates the charming and favorable impression left by their website. Kurt and Vicki are excellent hosts, their facility is spotless, their wines are well made, thoughtful, and downright delicious. If you are a fan of lean, crisp, mineral driven white wines, their Combine bottling fits the bill. High acid, food friendly Rosé? Look no further. Balanced fruit, acid, and earthy, funky terroir? Their Syrah, sourced from 2 different vineyards on Wahluke Slope and 1 vineyard on Red Mountain, was one of the best bottles of Syrah we tasted all weekend. Listening to Kurt and tasting through the line up, each Rulo bottling was a considered and thoughtful approach to allowing the varietal(s) express their terroir and varietal characteristics. The wines were consistently excellent, across all of the offerings. When Vicki found that we had arrived for the weekend without dinner reservations, she promptly got on the phone and secured our dinner seats for the two nights we were staying in town. While we had never even heard of Rulo prior to planning our trip, we did encounter several other people over the weekend who were familiar with Rulo and they all had the same thing to say. Fantastic people. Great wines. A true gem. Full Disclosure: Our party of two couples made an initial order of 4.5 cases of wine.

I’m a huge fan of Rulo wines, everything they produce is top notch. Kurt and Vicki are wonderful people as well. Everyone who walks into there tasting room is treated with open arms as if your family. You just don’t find wines of this caliber at this price point anywhere. Syrah, cabernet, viognier, chardonnay and there red blends are all amazing. You’ll not be dissapointed, put them on your must try list while visiting Walla Walla. Wine G.

Rulo was recommended by several people and we’re really glad we listened. Kurt and Vicki make fantastic wines. Probably one of the top 2 in Walla Walla. Their Syrah’s are amazing, as are the Cabs. All of their wines, we had to take home. Make sure to visit Rulo when you get to Walla Walla. You’ll thank me later.
