I needed a new property management company for my properties. I had no idea where my cash was going or if the bills were getting paid. Although it took a few months to work out the bugs and issues, income started to come in and I receive monthly statements showing me all the money in and out. I feel much better now that I have an idea of what is coming in and going out. Thanks!

Utterly disappointing with Beka Property Management, applied for a rental home asking for $ 825 a month and I gave all my information for the application. I was charged $ 120 for the application and denied due to being Self — Employed and thus not having any wages that could potentially be garnished or so explained the«Owner» Van Mamula. My conversation with him was somewhat pleasant until he mentioned that ultimately it came down to his decision on renting my family the home and that he did not want to rent to a person who was self employed, this is acceptable and I understood completely what he explained to me. What did shock me was that one of his agent’s a Kathleen Cracraft, had assured & guaranteed that the house was mine to rent. She never returned calls, insisted that the owners of the home were out of tow so she had to check with them and much more b/s that told me that she had a problem with me or my family living there. She had told me that this application was more of a formality but that she would hand us the keys to the home«On Monday» so we could move in. This was on a Thursday so I thought«hey atleast that’s out of the way,» but I was wrong, I called the agent Kathleen Cracraft on Monday November 10th and she told me that I had to call her boss Van Mamula for information on the application, this seemed odd since I had already given her a deposit for the home and she had assured me that we would have the keys to the house on Monday afternoon. After receiving the news she had nothing to tell me but sorry. The reason for this review was to highlight the more negative part of this experience with Beka Property Management and its agent Kathleen Cracraft. When she showed my family the home she initially wanted to know if we were of Hispanic descent and what would occur when we were pulled over driving without a valid license(referring to my family living illegally in the USA thus not having a valid drivers license). From what I recall the exact words were«What happens to you people when you get pulled over?». Im not sure what this meant, or exactly what she was thinking of when she asked this question but my wife and I were both born in the United States and as a newlywed couple we were looking for a place to rent closer to my family. I certainly do not tolerate racism or any sort of discrimination and I am glad that we are going with another company that follows the Fair Housing Act of 1968 that prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin.

I was threatened with legal recourse for a review two reviews ago just as Joanne L’s mom was. Be wary of even writing a review… and mine was two years before!

I wish I would have read the reviews before I decided to take a chance with this joke of a «business». The«realtor», Kathy, is clearly NOT licensed and to say she is unprofessional would be understating. In real estate it is your job to listen to what your clients want and to remember who she has talked to and the info the client provides. It might also help to be familiar with the properties you are showing so that potential renters can have their questions answered. I asked Kathy several times what fees they charged(while on the phone with her) and she assured me there were none. We actually would have loved to rent the house we saw, and all she wanted was to take our $ 40 per applicant, yet couldn’t provide an answer as to why both my husband and I would need to shell out $ 80 when we both had recent copies of our credit reports. She had NO answer for anything we asked and rushed us out of the house so she could try and get another family to shell out hard earned money for«application fees». My guess is she shows as many houses as she can to anyone who asks, just to collect the fees(that had to be in cash or money order). I left 4 messages after seeing the house to ask where to send application and never heard back. I am outraged with this business and urge people to go elsewhere, where you aren’t treated like $$$$ dollar signs and find someone professional, familiar with the properties and actually listens to your needs and wants. I also don’t enjoy being called«Hon» by a stranger in a condescending manner. I’m not your«Hon» and since you can’t remember my name, write it on your hand so you know who you are talking to! All BEKA wants is your money, and to show as many people they can a house for rent so they can collect your«fees». Kathy spoke to us about other clients and how she had just shown the house to 3 people and«felt so bad taking their hard earned money($ 120) and then deny them for previous evictions. This was NONE of our business and just proved to me how shady and unprofessional this racket is. When my husband asked why they charge $ 40 per applicant when most charge $ 25 – 30, he was told to call the next day and ask the company… Ummmm, isn’t that what he just did? We told her we had 2 dogs, before seeing the house and then were told the landlord didn’t allow dogs. There’s just so much to say about this place, but I’m too angry to keep typing. Bottom line, DONOT trust Beka Properties and certainly do NOT give them a penny of your money!!!

Would of gave none I paid up front for six months and the wont fix anything. The house was so dirty when I moved in I was sick for day’s. Had to clean for a week. I gave them 12,700 and the president Van yelled at me. Don’t ever do business with them. You will regret it.

A shame! Great properties, but aweful agents. They apparently don’t like to return calls, and continually change the prices. The hassle isn’t worth the properties! Go elsewhere!

Rented a very nice property though Beka Management for over a year. The house was exactly what we wanted but ran into multiple issues with Beka Management from the beginning. When we first looked at the house they advertised an availability date that they were not able to meet until a approximately a month later. When we did move in multiple items were not fixed that we discussed when signing the lease. We had multiple other issues AC/Furnace/septic/etc that we contacted Beka about and they were very slow to respond and didn’t always fix the issue. For example our AC has not worked correctly since the day we moved in and we have been battling with Beka to get this fixed for over a year, now that summer is over they claim a new unit is going to be installed. Beka also allowed the land owner to verbally harassed us after threatening to get lawyer involved in our year long AC issues. The land owner insulted our intelligence and falsely accused us of things the previous renter did and neighbors did. After the landowner calmed down it became obvious to both sides that Beka did a horrible job communicating with him. My experience with Beka was terrible from the start. I would never rent a house from them again nor would I let them manage any property I own.
