I love this place! Her mini cupcakes let you sample all the flavors in smaller sizes.

A co-​worker brought Alyssa’s mini cupcakes in to work about a month ago. They were out of this world good. Good to the point where I am relieved we don’t live any closer to this cakery.
I sent my daughter there last week to pick up a variety of cupcakes for my husband’s dinner. To start with, these cupcakes are visually appealing. They look as delicious as they taste. The variety that was available was impressive. We had seven or eight different flavors. The cupcakes were not dry. They were firm, in order to hold up to the tower of frosting on top of them. We shared the varieties in order to be able to try lots of different flavors. The lemon/​raspberry and the chocolate peanut butter, oh my.
If you’re in the area, stop by Alyssa’s and treat yourself to a few minis. I promise you’ll be glad you did. Yum!

I went there for the first time today. I love cupcakes and wanted to try one of them. On the plus side, the staff is friendly. But, the cupcake I had was horrible. I had a vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting. The cupcake was dry with no flavor at all. Parts of it were starting to go stale. The frosting was pretty good. But, the ratio of frosting to the top of the cupcake was not enough, in my opinion. It did not cover the entire cupcake, only the middle. I will not go back here and will go back to the old bakery where I get my cupcakes from.

Alyssa’s Cakery provided cupcakes for a baby shower I hosted for my daughter. The owner and staff at Alyssa’s Cakery were helpful, professional and accomodating. The cupcakes were fresh, beautifully decorated and delicious. We had the pistachio and champagne flavors.

Stopped in here with a friend during our walk and it was super cute. We both got iced coffees and they had a nice mix of fixings: soy milk, almond milk, melted sugar, all set up with cute mason jars etc. We got the mini cupcakes, as there were so many choices and they are only $ 1 each. We also got some mochi iced cream. I got the chocolate coconut and it was really yummy. The only downside is she doesn’t yet do vegan baking, which would be great for my husband. She did mention that she does gluten free and dairy free, so maybe vegan is on the horizon. I’ll definitely go back, since it’s a cute little shop, fair pricing and supports local business.

We are honestly so privileged to finally have a place like this in Wallingford. Her cakes and cupcakes are literally the best in the whole surrounding area, blows Mr. D’s and all of those sheet cakes from the grocery stores completely out of the water. My family ordered me a red velvet cake for my birthday and it literally was the best cake I’ve ever had in my life. Love the seasonal cupcake options as well! And the staff is so friendly, Alyssa’s is the place to go if you need a cake/​cupcakes no doubt.

Stopped by this cute little cake joint after lunch in the beautiful downtown Wallingford area. I went in with the intention of just getting a quick sweet, but ended up with much more. Cupcakes looked so good, I couldn’t just decide on one! She also has cake pops and other delicious items (bubble ice cream, mini cupcakes). The woman working the counter was super nice and answered any questions I had. One of the best cupcakes ever. Was particularly impressed with the frosting. Not ultra sweet and the perfect compliment to the cake! Two thumbs up for this awesome creative spot!

I cannot tell you how much I love Alyssa’s Toasted Almond Cake. It is to die for. Always a friendly staff waiting for you at Alyssa’s cakery, great selection of cake flavors to choose and always an assortment of cupcakes ready-​made for purchase. Alyssa is fabuous!

I love Alyssa’s creations! She is so talented.

My wife and I used Alyssa’s Cakery for our outdoor wedding reception on 9÷27÷2014. From the start, she listened to everything we wanted. After a few taste testings (all of which were delicious), we ended up with 3 cupcake flavors (pumpkin, chocolate squared, and french vanilla) for our cupcake tower and a different flavor for the little cake on top. When we requested french vanilla, she said she had not made that before, but went ahead and gave us three variations from scratch.
Alyssa was with us every step of the way, flexible with any changes we gave her, friendly, and very professional. Cake delivery was early and ready for the reception. Her company provides cupcake towers if needed. We also wanted to get «to-​go» boxes for our guests so they could take them home. She found wholesale boxes and provided them when the cake was delivered.
The final product was beautiful and delicious. Our guests still talk about their cupcakes. She took into account all of our wedding details and seamlessly created a fantastic dessert that fit our wedding and personalities. We loved our red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and cannot wait to thaw it out for our 1 year anniversary.

Our Frozen-​themed cake was the highlight of our party! Alyssa’s creation was a huge hit as were the funfetti flavored mini cupcakes. The entire 12″ cake was gone in a minute with not a morsel left! Our guests were extremely impressed with the decorations as well as the cake! They couldn’t get enough (most people had seconds if not thirds). Alyssa was also very helpful and professional. We are certainly coming back for our bday celebrations as will our friends now! And not to forget that Alyssa was very reasonably priced compared to all the bigger named bakeries with much better cakes than them! Keep up the great work Alyssa!

awesome! Treated myself to some cupcakes today (my bday:)…got 4– and no, I didn’t eat them all but sampled each. one coconut, one reeses’s and two (yummmm) Cadbury crème egg– probably special for easter… so great:) They are a little smaller than some I’ve had to reference previous reviews– but they are better than most:). Moist cake, great frosting, not overly sweet like a few places, fillings and or toppings (depending on which type) fresh.
Kudos to the fact that there were three women working (one deep in baking) and all three smiled and spoke to me, wished me a happy easter. I have been in a few specialty shops where the employees act as though they are doing you a favor by serving you. I appreciate places with good customer service.

Alyssa made my wedding cake, well cakes I should say! I gave her the challenge of combining a classy elegant wedding cake and a crazy MUDDY grooms cake and she pulled off my vision perfectly! Everyone loved not only how it looked but how it tasted! I would recommend Alyssa’s cakery to anyone! She also made the cupcakes for my «will you be my bridesmaids» invitations :)

Have been there a few times looking for that delicious, moist cupcake that a few have mentioned. Sorry, but just have not found it. Those cupcakes are dry! Agree with previous reviewer that cupcakes are small. $ 3.00 for small, dry, «gourmet» cupcake. Frosting also very sweet. Cupcakes look pretty and Alyssa very friendly but definitely needs to improve the quality of her product. At best, rank it as 3 stars.

Had the pleasure of working with Alyssa and her husband Dan this weekend at Celebrate Wallingford. She stayed up two nights baking for this event! The cake pops and push pops were fabulous !! I had chocolate on chocolate cake pop, it was moist and delicious !!! To DIE FOR !! This girl is a hard worker and sweet as the sugar she uses. My favorite cupcake place in the area, whenever I need cupcakes I always go here! She even has cake pops some times!
The first time I ever went here was during shark week and she had the cutest cupcakes made with little shark fins!
The only downfall is that whenever I go in there aren’t many cupcakes left. Which means she’s doing a killer business but I wish they had more!

I LOVE this place. The owner (Alyssa) was so nice and helpful. She took all of my suggestions as well as collaborated with her own ideas (asking me first before doing anything with the cake). She is enthusiastic and it’s clear by the outcome that she really puts heart into all of her work.
Not to mention the prices are amazing low for such high quality work

mmm cupcakes. yah they make em here. and they make em GOOD.
in my mind there is a formula composed of if the bakery charges too much/​too little and the cupcake is too big/​too small and the quality is disgusting/​delicious. ok so alyssa;s cupcakes were reasonable priced, well sized and delicious. so the formula works out that THIS PLACE ROCKS.
sure, it is totally off the beaten path if you dont live in wallingford. but i think its worth going a little out of your way for reasonably priced well sized deliciousness. and the staff was friendly, so that helps!

Thanks to Miss Madeleine, I was made aware of this new cupcake shop in town. How could I pass this up? Located right next to Vinny’s deli, the space they occupy used to be a creepy looking antique store but the staff did quite a job making the shop feel bright and cheery.
They offer two different price tiers for cupcakes – standard cupcakes are $ 2.50 each (all vanilla, all chocolate, black and white, white and black) or specialty cupcakes at $ 3.50 each. My sister, Lauren, went with a red velvet, I had a black and white and we brought a Samoas cupcake home for the hubby. The cake itself was nice and moist with a smooth vanilla flavor, with a ton of chocolate frosting atop!
Super happy to have a cupcake place in town!

So I noticed quite a Unilocal buzz about this place recently considering it just opened about a month ago and I had to see what the fuss was about. Fuss be had, these are phenominal!
Considering I took the day off from work for my birthday and didn’t have plans until later, I figured why not take the 14 minute ride over there.
Alyssa’s is right next to a deli.
I’ve seen this combination seem to work well for businesses, such as Sub Boss and Sugar in East Haven.
I would have loved to try the vanilla squared, but that wasn’t a flavor option today.
I got a mix of 4 gourmet and 3 classic, came to a little over $ 14.
Red Velvet, moist and that frosting? MMM!
Carrot cake frosting was awesome, but the carrot cake itself needed more carrot and less spice.
The Smores one was excellent, its marshmellow frosting was light.
The Lemon Blueberry one was a great combo of flavors.
Can’t wait to go back and try more.

Absolute cutest cake/​cupcakery ever! If I lived in Wallingford it would be extremley tempting not to come here every day.
The cupcakes are the most delicious I have ever had. They are better than any place I have tried in Boston — and let me tell you there are many popping up lately. Alyssa (the owner) works to make the most moist, scrumptious, and creative flavored cupcakes DAILY!
So far I have only tried the red velvet which tasted like a piece of heaven. There were so many flavors I wanted to try though — especially the cinamon toast crunch one! Everyone must try a cupcake from Alyssa’s! It might just make your day or even week :)
She also does cakes for every occasion. I’ve had a wedding cake of hers and also saw a cupcake tower she did at another wedding. Both were gorgeous — meticulate, and perfectly put together! Not to mention they both tasted amazing.
Alyssa’s Cakery deserves every single star I wish I could give her 10!
