I’ve done a lot of research prior to choosing this company to build our new deck, unfortunately it’s rather easy to manipulate reviews on the Internet and we’ve found out the hard way.
My initial meet was with the owner and although I thought I was good at reading people, I felt confident after going through the plans to create our amazing backyard based on the contract and other verbal promises that our deck would be complete within last than a month and that’s adding time for surprises and weather factored in. This amazing deck would be built by 6 of the companies best and qualified employees. A 3d rendering was drawn up so we would know exactly what we are getting. At this time I was pregnant with our second child. Due to other projects that have been backed up and weather related issues our starting date for the project was closer to the time when it should have been completed by. My husband and I are very reasonable and forgiving people so we didn’t let this be an issue, like anything else home improvement almost never goes as planned.
From the first day on issues arose with employees spending more time doing lunch and on their cell phones than actually doing work. Once the frame was up it was time for some quality work to present it self yet a young man showed up with his helper to cut the boards. That’s right… not six but one and a half… He also has never worked for the company before or had any idea what he was doing. As he the owner and project manager was seldom in touch or reachable, this poor boy kept coming to me asking me what needed to be done and how through the entire project. Many things were missed and our hot tub almost went in the wrong way had I not been home running out trying to correct the problem. I can go into detail but my deck speaks for it self and if you are considering using this company feel free to contact me and see for your self. (I’m about to have our 3^rd child this week and the deck is Still unfinished).
As things escalated through the project like any other unprofessional company it became a blaming game. Manager blaming owner, employees blaming manager, owner blaming the fricken invisible fairy for missing support beams. After a year of excuses and the deck still isn’t finished and unsafe we were loosing patience. See you Wednesday became can’t even get them. on the phone 3 months later games, we finally contacted corporate for help as my daughter almost fell through the unsupported sagging railing that wasn’t secured. The manager came out and secured 80% of the deck railings and try to fix the incorrectly placed safety door by the stairs. The last thing I’ve heard was ok it’s Friday so I’ll see you Monday and that was well over a year ago. According to employees this happens a lot and their other projects are going in a similar direction so save your self the headache and aggravation use someone else.
