Cute restaurant, nice location, friendly staff. Barbecue chicken pizza is A+, but their fettuccine alfredo always makes me sick to my stomach though

I am not sure if they were having an Off night or just short staffed? I heard good things so thought why not check it out. We asked to sit out side and was seated out front at a patio table, left with the menu’s and then forgotten about for what felt like about 10 – 15 min. When the waitress finally came around we ordered our drinks, and food at the same time, we were not sure how long it would have been before she came back to take our order. I had to ask for water along with my beer, then our salads came — nothing fancy but the bread is amazing, but a placement or bread plate would have been nice. We ordered a second beer when they delivered our food. I ordered the eggplant parm, that came with a side of pasta with marina, I’m pretty sure it was a just a can of diced tomato dumped on top… no flavor or seasonings. I would have eaten if I could have gotten a little salt and pepper or Parmesan cheese, but our waitress never came back! After sitting for a while after finishing my meal I also noticed there were things floating in my beer so i didn’t finish that. My boyfriend had to go inside and find the waitress, bringing the credit card so we could pay and leave, he came back out and said she didn’t have our bill ready and over heard her make a comment to the other worker«I’m only one person». We finally received the bill, handed her the credit card right away. I can usually get over semi bad service if the food was to die for but I would say I probably won’t be back anytime soon.

Decent Italian food, but what really makes them shine is service. My daughter has an egg allergy, and the waitress Lauren and the cook really went out of their way to accommodate her needs. It’s tough to find a restaurant anywhere that is allergy-friendly, and Sal’s South was incredibly helpful, even though they don’t have an allergy-free menu.

Perfect crust, tasty sauce and enough cheese to balance it out. The server was right in it and enthusiastic about his food. Worth stopping in to try a pie.

The cheesesteak is to die for!!! So is the mushroom parm appetizer. You’ll be back more than once.

Best Italian food anywhere near Rutland! Garlic bread with cheese is sinful! Chef always willing to make orders to your request too! Definitely worth stopping in for lunch or dinner!

For a flat lander on vacation in rural Vermont, it doesn’t get any better than this! Fresh, good food with lots of tomato sauce and garlic, whole wheat pizza, and the absolute best draught ale(Switchback!) on the planet. Not at all glamorous. and not at all pretentious… just one of those places that is utterly comfortable in it’s own skin, friendly, attentive service by people who care, and out door seating so you can watch the sun slip behind the mountains and watch the(light) traffic at the town’s only stop light. Go with the right attitude, and you’ll be reminded why people love to be in Vermont. Über dog friendly, too!

Not a bad place for a small town. Kind of needs a good cleaning/remodeling to be more stars. A little pricey for the atmosphere but you won’t leave hungry.

Had a very good dinner at Sal’s South this week. I had chicken scallopini and my wife had veal scallopini. Both dishes were very good and the wine was so inexpensive. Can you imagine $ 14 for a bottle of wine in a restaurant? Service was great and I would definitely return. 9÷1÷09
