Gator Junction Grocery

This place was not hard to find and the food was really good. The people were very nice and the inside looked like an antique shop mixed with a museum and gas station. It all blended together nicely and was very Texas. I had the brisket and sausage plate and was not disappointed at all. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone rolling through town.

The Best chopped beef sandwiches you can find! The outside just looks like a hole in the wall but the treasure inside is delicious.
Chopped beef sandwiches os all quality beef… no fat or gristle ever.
The ribs are good too. Very flavorful but it’s hard to pass up the chopped beef sandwiches.

We were traveling through Texas on our way to northern California. All my husband wanted was BBQ for lunch so when he saw the sign for Gator Junction we decided to stop there. They also sell gas so we filled up our tank is very convenient.
A young lady with a butterfly tattoo on her right upper arm welcomed me when I walked to the counter… which is a major plus. I ordered a BBQ brisket sandwich and side of coleslaw for him and I decided on a BBQ chicken breast sandwich. Everything was ready quickly. We got it to go because our doggie Coco was with us.
Brad said the portion of meat was generous and the sandwich was delicious, as well as the coleslaw. Normally, I can’t eat an entire sandwich but I had no problem finishing this one. Had a smoky taste and it was very, very good. Coco enjoyed what we shared with her as well.
I recommend stopping here if you like BBQ. Also, noticed several truckers eating there. They have a lot next door for them to park their 18-​wheelers.

4 stars for being a solid BBQ quick stop off of I-​10. Nothing special, just good BBQ chopped beef sandwiches, ribs, pork sandwiches, potato salad, beans, etc. It’s a gas station too. Very nice people own and run it.
It’s not always easy to find non-​fast food type food right off of I-​10. If you are coming from the West then take exit 811.
