We wanted to take our friends out to a nice«thank you» dinner, and I had read positive reviews about the Inn in the Hudson Valley magazine. Everything about our dinner at the Bruynswyck Inn was fantastic. We are looking forward to going back so we can try other items on the menu. The staff was attentive and the food was simply amazing. The restaurant is cosy and not pretentious. Family run and operated.

Place is excellent, live right down the road from it. Me and my family went, everyone enjoyed their meal. A particular favorite was the roasted garlic app. Just a great at home atmosphere, with well made food

Pepper steak was delicious — 5 stars. Chicken curry — edible but not much more than that. Tasted like McCormick’s curry blend in a cream sauce — 2 stars. But the service was terrific, the appetizer was good & they brought my dog a humungous beef rib to knaw on while the humans at their dinner. So other than the chicken curry misstep we were pretty pleased.

Wonderful place that often gets overlooked or passed by. Highly recommended! The steaks are wonderful, we LOVE the house dressing and the desserts are always divine! The ambiance is quiet and not ostentatious. Humble and comfortable. We will keep going back again and again!

Great service, had the salmon. Excellent spinach sauce with interesting carrot mashed potatoes. My husband had the steak covered with ground pepper and a sauce on the side. He was so pleased with the taste. Perfectly cooked to his request. We passed on dessert. The apple crumb was sold out. We will absolutely be back.

This a very good steak and seafood restaurant. The price range for entrees is between $ 21-$ 35 per person. The entrees all come with a salad and I recommend their house creamy garlic. We started with coconut shrimp and the saffron mussels. No complaints on these apps at all. For the entrees we got the duck(delicious but a lot of work) and the filet mignon. I asked for my steak to be medium and it came out medium well. It lost some juices and wasn’t as tender. That being said we still very much enjoyed the meal and cozy setting. The cocktails were strong and the staff was really sweet. I would bring family and friends here for celebrations.

I agree! Great hidden treasure. Clams were by far the most delicious clams we have had. Service, ran by 2 sisters was excellent!

It’s an amazing hidden treasure. Prices are more than reasonable considering the quality and portions of every dish. We had a heaping plate of miscues our appetizer followed by chicken cordon bleu that wasn’t even on the menu but one of the regulars at the bar said it was the best and the chef made it for me anyway. Thanks John!

I can honestly say that No One can cook as well as John from Bryunswick Inn… He can cook for me Anytime! Period! I will happily eat there whenever I can, usually once a week. NEVER disappointed! WHOCOOKSANDCANSAYTHEYNEVERAREDISAPPOINTEDWITH A MEAL? John is so modest that he thinks it is so eAsy to cook! He NEVER ceases to AMAZE me or my family.

This is easily my favorite restaurant in the area. The prices are very reasonable, and the food is out of this world. The restaurant is really in the middle of no where, and it’s a really home-y setting inside. For our appetizers we had coconut shrimp, bread with spreadable garlic and cheese( .god.), and tuna on top of a salad with soy, ginger, and lime dressing. The tuna was cooked perfectly and the flavors were the best I’ve ever had. For dinner I had the steak and shrimp with bernaise sauce, and my steak was again perfectly cooked.

Great bar, great food, solid portions. American fare with a French/European touch. Prime rib, steaks, seafood, chicken and pasta dishes … lovely, hearty soups and very generous appetizers — you just can’t go wrong. Very comfortable atmosphere in a lovely little tucked away restaurant. Local regulars tend to be a more mature/sensible group. Make reservations, especially if you plan on eating at the bar. It’s an intimate little establishment which can fill up easily. Chef Jean Boulidor has been a long standing chef and restaurateur in the area. Overnight accommodations can be made at nearby Bed & Breakfasts. Local hiking and rock climbing at Minnewaska State Park can be an added bonus as well as winery tours in the area.
