My first time here, boss suggested this place for lunch! I ordered at 2:45pm over phone not realizing they close at 3PM(yes I was THAT customer unfortunately) but the man who seemed to look like the owner was okay with it and had said he’s going to wait for my arrival in ten minutes! Sweet man I tell ya! Got to the little cute café and he unlocked the door for me to enter and helped me check out my order. It’s a cute tiny restaurant, like the ones at big businesses! I ordered something simple since it was near closing time, a turkey avocado club with sprouts on a French roll which was sooooooooooooooooooi soft. They do have weekly specials too! And their website is always updated with specials and such so that’s an A+++ For sure I will pick up lunch from them every other week :)

Had an order of the Portabella Mushroom Sandwich(a.k.a. «Grilled Portabello Sandwich», «California Grilled Portabello» & «Grilled Portabello and Chèvre Sandwich»)(~$ 8): Grilled portabello mushroom, eggplant, zucchini, roasted red bell pepper and creamy chevre cheese with pesto served on toasted locally made artisan ciabatta bread and served with organic springs greens. Food was delicious, staff was extra-tolerant, and the ambiance was closed(as orders aren’t supposed to be picked up after the front door is locked).

Stopped by for lunch today and… got the monterey and a few adds… It seemed popular, and overall busy, but not painfully so. Got my food to go, and enjoyed it in the nice weather… it was well made. A nice toast on the bread, good mix of flavors; not bad at all. though a bit pricey… seven dollars for a small sandwich isn’t exactly a deal, but overall, it was still good; though it’s a bit out of the way from where I’ll be working. If you’re in the area, stop by – you’ll at least have a good meal. Happy eating!

People that work here can’t make a simple mocha. So to wait for someone who did know how to make it and finally give me my drink it Took approximately 10 mins. Should’ve went to Starbucks .I will not come again

This place is great! My office uses them a lot for catering orders or as a suggestion for clients when they are looking for a place to go for lunch and they do a wonderful job! Tony and his staff always provide fast, efficient service and good food at a decent price.

Convenient, Clean, Friendly, Nearby. All the things needed for a successful lunch at work. The owner is great, they know about gluten allergies. I’m not sure they avoid cross contamination, but if you’re hungry… short on time, at work. This is the best option for lunch around the corporate buildings.

I periodically work in this office park, and I’ve been trying to explore the food options around here. In my early explorations, this is the frontrunner for best sandwich. It’s not to say that other places are particularly bad, but this one just stands out. It might be a little pricier than some of the others, but its worth it. The staff have always been upbeat and prompt and the place is always clean and offers a nice respite from the cube dwelling grind of your typical M-F workweek. It hasn’t seemed crowded to me, so it’s a decent place to bring a book and take your full lunch hour while sitting outside.

Mediocre sandwiches on stale bread, plus grumpy service equals me going to one of the other two delis in my plaza! There are only three choices near my workplace, but I’m done with this one…

Find yourself in the Creek in a lunch stupor? Go to this place. Good variety of meats, salads and other veggie offerings. Good space to sit and everything is fresh. Just a nice spot close to offices and BART. Affordable too, most lunch stuff for about $ 7 or $ 8 and under.

Just started a temp stint in the area, stopped in here on my first day to grab a lonely sandwich by myself. :-(Paid about $ 7 for a Turkey-Avocado on Dutch Crunch that had a pretty high bread-to-filling ratio, but it was good bread, at least. Service at this place is incredibly pleasant and friendly! Really nice folks. Lots of good seating both indoors and out. I’ll return to try the daily special or a salad.

Caffe CA(formerly Café Dolce) is easily the best deli in this cluster of office buildings, with friendly staff, and very consistent food and coffee. They have weekly specials(including the Friday chicken taco salad that has been on the menu for years and is as good as ever!) and they offer online ordering, which can be super helpful during the lunch rush when you want to bypass that crazy long line. Along with their Friday special, I also recommend for sandwiches the Chicken Milano, the Rodeo, the Poorboy, the Gourmet, the Turkey Avocado, the Monterey and the killer Delano. For salads, I’m a big fan of the Caffe Avocado with a scoop of the Caffe chicken salad(seriously, apples, raisins and coconut in chicken salad is the best idea ever), and you are very safe with their chicken caesar, chicken oriental and their classic garden salad with your dressing of choice. Since becoming Caffe CA, they also now offer a wide variety of organic chips and cookies, and a great variety of drinks beyond standard sodas. You can also pop in here for hot and cold coffee drinks, a fruit smoothie, a breakfast pastry or burrito, and even an afternoon glass of wine(your secret is safe with me!). :) Thanks for offering years of great eats to the Downtown WC working crowd!

I go here often for lunch. It’s great for soup and sandwiches — great weekly specials and a lot of different sandwiches to choose from daily(not just your average boring sandwich, unless you want that). Salads are good too, but they could use a little more variety in that area. Friendly staff and the food always seems very fresh.

«Oh yes! The sauce has a little bit of kick to it.» Those were my thoughts upon first bite of today’s special: Chicken Curry a la Mumbai. It came with veggies and rice, a crispy tortilla thing, and some lentil soup. Lots of chicken, cooked perfectly(wonder if they could do a veggie version of this, and substitute broccoli for the chicken or something?) The sauce just seemed like it’d be amazing on top of some steamed veggies. It was really good and had just a little kick to it.(I added hot sauce when I got back to my desk at work) but it would have been spicy enough for most people as it was. The rice was good and I mixed it in the sauce. The serving of veggies was oddly very small. Maybe a heaping tablespoon worth, so it was more of a teaser than part of the lunch. It was a cucumber-like veggie salad(cold) and it was good. I had an eyelash in mine but things like that don’t really bother me cuz they can happen anywhere. I finished my hot lunch and then worked on the hot, lentil soup. It was really good too. Even though I would’ve liked to see a little more of the veggies, lunch was good and it only came to $ 8.41. The guy at the register was really nice and used my name as he asked if i needed a copy of the receipt. I like the name use. And I like the effort to save paper by not printing all receipts. Plus, I liked the food. The Caffe is located on California at Pringle. There is some seating both inside and outdoors. If hot soup on a hot day isn’t your thing, you can substitute this for a fountain soda. There is also an espresso bar inside. Lots of other items(sandwiches and salads) on their menu as well. Three different vegetarian sandwiches caught my eye. Usually i just see«vegetarian sandwich». Yay for variety. Whoever’s cooking this dish did an awesome job. I’d come back for it — especially if I could sub broccoli for the chicken! :D

After working for a while in the Financial District with lots of places to go for lunch, my job moved to Walnut Creek. Nice to be right by the BART, but choices for lunch are very slim. I have three similar lunch places with sandwiches, and salads and a Phở place. Caffe California is the better of the sandwich places. Several sandwiches and salads are available. My favorite sandwich is the Torta with steak, avocado, and salsa. The Romanesque with steak and blue cheese is also a winner. Even the more ordinary ham and swiss is good. Not too expensive at less than $ 7 for most items. Breakfast is available but don’t pass up the burrito, filled with scrambled egg, cheese, and salsa it’s a great way to start the day. Service is great, and Vivy and Arnie make you feel at home.

Surprisingly a decent café! I just recently started working in a building close by, which is what lead me to visit this place recently. I also heard from several coworkers that they had some pretty decent food. This café was surprisingly really nice in side, far different from most business building cafes that I have been to in the past. It has more of an upper scale café feel, which also appeared to be quite clean. I was also impressed with there pastry selection, as well as there breakfast and lunch menu. They also offer daily specials which this particular day, was the crab sandwich. It sounded extremely good so, I went with that. You can also choose what kind of bread you want, which I ended up choosing rye. The lunch specials come with a drink and your choice of soup or salad, for about $ 8 and some change. I decided to go with a cup of chicken noodle soup and a diet coke. I also happened to notice that they wear gloves while making there food which is nice :) You pay for your food at the counter which they later bring to you unless of course your taking it to go. My food arrived with in about 5 min after seating, and looking really good. My crab sandwich was hot, savory and super delicious! My soup was also not bad. Service was ok but I was overall impressed with everything else. I will definitely be back :)

It’s one of those«you’ll have to do» lunch places most office workers have to settle for if you need something quick within walking distance. However, since their location is pretty much adjacent to two other delis that serve tastier food and with a much better value, it’s a tough sell. As others have mentioned, overpriced for what it is and the food isn’t great. Ordered a BLT on wheat bread which came out to be pretty abysmal and skimpy, small portioned. Looked like something I could of tossed together in a minute if I didn’t have to toast the bread, not that it takes a whole lot of effort. Lots of sandwich specials on the wall besides the usual deli sandwiches.

This is just a hop and a skip from my office so I thought I’d try it. I ordered an Oriental Chicken Salad which had a bit of a kick than most salads I’ve had. The prices are pretty reasonable… under $ 10. The outdoor seating is lovely, especially on a nice day. I’ll probably go back just because it’s within walking distance from my work place.
