We truly enjoyed our small Birthday Dinner at the Corner Tavern in Walnut Creek. Bryan our waiter was AMAZING. We had personalized menus for the event and our service was above and beyond expectations. The food was exceptional and we especially loved our fried chicken, steak and charcuterie plate. Come to Corner Tavern, Great Food, Great Service.

Well seen all the reviews on here and seen the pictures so decided to try it to night. And I am glad that I did. Was great from start to finish. Started with the smoked chicken wings then the butternut squash soup WOW! Ordered the buttermilk chicken for my dinner it was excellent 4 pieces of chicken and a cheddar bacon biscuit I put the gravy on the side. My mom ordered the beer battered flounder that was also excellent my husband ordered the cheese burger very tasty. Dessert was the butterscotch pudding and the donuts excellent the dip with the donuts tasted little to much whiskey for us. Also had a Moscow mule(I think I found my new drink) I highly recommend corner tavern! Are waiter was Bryan and he was great! Manager always came by made u feel looked after and welcomed.

Corners Tavern is a great Walnut Creek go-to restaurant for us. It’s located in the Broadway Plaza area, in between Macy’s and the former La Boulange. It’s a little out of the way, so sometimes we forget that it exists, but we’re always very happy when we remember that it exists and we end up dining there. So far I’ve been to Corners Tavern for both lunch, happy hour, and dinner. Things we’ve tried so far: brussel sprouts, smoked chicken wings, tacos, butternut squash soup, caesar salad, cobb salad, cubans, tavern grilled cheese, tomato panini, shrimp tacos, potato chips, and fried pork ribs. All delicious. Of note, my work also organized a launch party at Corners Tavern a few months ago. We were able to rent out the lounge area of the restaurant and the event organizer we worked with, Alex, was great. We were able to order various appetizers and dishes as well as drinks. Our guests had a wonderful time and, overall, we had a very successful party!

They say, it takes a village to raise a child. That saying also holds true in feeding 18 people. In SF, it’s extremely difficult to secure a reservation for 10 people. On a Friday night. At 7:30pm. It will require tons of emails/phone calls, a binding contract, prix fixe menu, last minute cancellations/additions, etc etc. So, when I booked Corners Tavern for 10 people originally, then a few days before the event increased it by another 8, I had my doubts. Guess what? They said, «we can certainly do that.» WHAT?! what planet am I on?(Walnut Creek …) They didn’t mind that everyone was 30 mins late.(crucial Warriors game!) They didn’t mind when we weren’t ready to order, they didn’t mind the multiple requests for additional food/drinks/silverware. They didn’t mind that it took us another 30 mins figuring out the bill. We received the most incredible service I’ve EVER had in my years of dining out and organizing parties. And that in itself is a tremendous feat accomplished by this staff. Onto to the food. Expect upscale pub/soul food which includes your usual fried chicken and burger, but also a few interesting dishes like shishito peppers and potato gnocchi. The fried chicken could’ve used a tad more seasoning, but was fried to crispy perfection and fully cooked through. I loved my steamed mussels with chorizo and grilled rustic bread. The Corner’s burger is a gut busting thick patty of MMMeat served with pickled onions and a nice house made bun. The FRIES(!!!) are so thin and addicting. Others loved their pork chop, NY steak and house made sausage. Corners Tavern, thank you for delicious food and the generous hospitality that your staff provided. We were extremely satisfied with our experience here.

I came for dinner on a Friday night with reservations. Even so, the hostess still tried to seat us at the least desirable table and when I asked if we could sit at the better table — same size — she gave me the«oh, let me check.» Really? Our server was very good and attentive, but the food was nothing extraordinary. I had the fried chicken and the biscuit was hard and the chicken was okay. My drink was great — I had the tequila drink with the Fresno chili. Pros: the bar looked promising although I was there to dine. But a decent crowd of 30s, 40s, 50s… And the place had a nice ambiance. Cons: food is mediocre, hostesses aren’t accommodating and there was no toilet paper in the women’s restroom on a busy Friday night during peak holiday season. I’ll be back for a drink at the bar but I won’t eat here again.

Hip interior with a nice-Restoration-Hardware feel to it. The location is obviously pretty central, so parking might be an issue, even with the parking structure nearby. The appetizers were probably my favorite part of the meal, with the brussel sprouts in particular being a standout. The dishes(burger, shrimp roll and cubana) were all ok but nobody had their socks blown off. Our socks were kept firmly on our feet. The service was nice but was particularly slow on this day, without obvious cause as the restaurant was not close to full.

Very lively and modern pub/restaurant in Walnut Creek’s downtown. Kudos to the staff who was able to seat a party of 17 on a Friday night, and even hold the reservation although everyone was late. Well-equipped bar and a menu full of higher quality bar food — I liked the SHISHITOPEPPERS($ 8) and the CHICKENWINGS($ 11). The BURGER seems to be the best value — for $ 16 you’ll get a platter full of meat, fries, and lettuce. All other entrees are between $ 20 and $ 30. Really impressive is the beer selection — TONS of German beer which I love! For all the drivers out there — get the BITBURGER, a classic German beer, they sell the non-alcoholic version here.

I still remember coming to this location back in the day when it was Bing’s. Since I moved away from Walnut Creek, the Broadway Plaza area has definitely been changing rapidly. As part of the metamorphosis, Bing’s is history and Corners Tavern is here. We checked out Corners this past weekend for a friend’s surprise birthday. Overall, I was really impressed. Tasty drinks were flowing and great servers were continuously bringing out yummy apps. Since we didn’t sample any entrees, we concluded that we’ll definitely have to stop in again for a more formal sit-down meal. From what we’ve tasted so far, I’m looking forward to it.

Friday night date night, we chose this gem in the heart of Walnut Creek. We have shied away from the downtown area due to renovations, but now the new parking garage is open and convenient to this restaurant. Love the indoor/outdoor concept with a very large, open bar and seating area. Our waiter promptly greeted us and our suggested beers were on their way. They have a wide variety of beer and wine to chose from, as well as mixed drinks. We started with the flash fried shishito peppers and house made chips. Both excellent choices. Hubs and I both ordered off the appetizer menu for our entrees. NOTE: not recommended. Our Caeser salad was good, although there was a tad too much dressing which made the lettuce droopy. White anchovies and the croutons were spot on. Not sure if it was worth $ 9. I chose the black mussels with house made chorizo, and grilled bread. Mussels were large and the broth was tasty, but the chorizo was practically nonexistent. Bread was good to soak up the broth. Chicken wings-well if you like yours the size of an infant’s pinky, these are for you, although my dinner date said they were flavorful. Our waiter mention the pinky wings to his manager and she promptly came over and remedied the situation by taking them off our bill. We shall return, but next time we’ll order off the dinner menu as the entrees looked yummy!

Classic and cool little place in Walnut Creek with top notch selection of small plates as well as dinner portions. Our group of 3 tried 6 small plates. The brussel sprouts and grilled cheese are a must try. I wish I could make my own brussel sprouts taste that good! The wine selection is extensive and serves all tastes. The coctail menu is also lengthy, my friends enjoyed the moscow mule. I enjoyed their red wine selections. The décor is beautiful and interesting and took us by surprise when we realized that the inked wall represented Grimms fairy tales. If I lived in Walnut Creek I would definitely make this my go-to tapas spot!

Within easy walking distance of some of the Bay Areas best shopping district sits a vibrant establishment, Corners Tavern. Entering the restaurant you are blown away by the big bar, people having a great time and the huge open wall overlooking the shopping district. We arrived early and got a front table with luxurious chairs and best view of the action. Our server was very knowledgeable and helped guide us through the extensive selection of beers, cocktails and wine. This trip we opted for beer. I ordered a pale ale from Faction Brewery on Alameda. The pour was large and priced at only $ 7.00 my wife was recommended to select the Weihenstephan Hefeweizen. It was even a larger pour, delicious and only $ 8.00. We accompanied our drinks with the Blistered Shishito Peppers and Homemade Chips. The peppers were bursting with flavor and chips were crunchy and full of flavor. Now came the main course. I was stumbling and indecisive and therefore skipped the opportunity of ordering an entrée, instead choosing to pair two starters and making that my meal. My wife ordered the Lager Steamed Black Muscles and Caesar Salad, I picked the smoked wings and Caesar Salad. The dishes came out of the kitchen quickly and too my surprise the Caesar Salad was rather small for the $ 9.00 price tag and the smoked wings were either from an anorexic chicken, a sparrow or were from chickens raised at Area 51. I seriously have never seen wings so small in my entire life. The flavor of these genetically altered birds was fabulous but for $ 10.00 I was expecting more meat on the bones. I asked the waiter if the wings were from a chicken and he quickly spoke to the manager. The manager came directly to our table and said she would take the wings off the check. She spent some time with us and we found that her friendliness was more than enough to make up for the wings. The Caesar Salads were OK. They did have white anchovies but were a bit overdressed and therefore the lettuce became wilted. I wanted to grant Corners Tavern 5 stars but because of the wings and the oversight of not leaving a plate for my wife’s muscles dropped them to 4 stars. I would like to visit this place again and try a main entrée but must make sure my wife is on the same page.

This is a very popular, causally elegant restaurant in Walnut Creek, with excellent dishes and service. If you are from out of town looking for a nice restaurant in Walnut Creek, Corners Tavern will be a good choice. Our local friends treated my wife and me here for dinner. We liked its food, service and ambience so much that we went back there 3x more, and had a wonderful dining experience every time. DETAILSYOUCANSKIP BAR, PATIO and DINNGROOM Its cozy patio is an extension of the dining room, and is inviting looking off the street. As soon as you walk in the main entrance, you’ll be warmly welcomed by the nice hostess. Behind the reception is a large, classy bar counter; the lounge seating to the left; and the stylish, comfy dining areas and the patio to the right. In our dinner visits we have been seated in all three different areas and loved them all. Yes, you can get full dinner service everywhere. FOOD/DRINKS We like its cocktails, draft beers and wine. I myself especially love the super delicious, dirty vodka martini with extra olives! There are several vodka brands to choose from. The dinner menu has excellent selections, and offers daily set dinner. In our visits, we had sampled most of the apps and mains and loved them! To name few(see pics) below: APPS: (1) house made sausages, which are plump, spicy, with tasty sauce;(2) zucchini/cucumber salad;(3) Pork cracklings;(4) Smoked chicken wings;(5) Steamed mussels;(6) Fried Brussel sprouts!(7) Tomato salad! All delicious! MAINS: I myself enjoyed two particular mains tremendously and had reordered them in following visits. (1) Fried chicken — crispy outside, juicy and tender inside; not oily at all. I had it as Monday’s pre-set dinner, which came with soup & dessert. I had also ordered it as a stand alone entrée, and it was just as delicious! (2) Smoked eggplant agnolotti, with pasta and aged goat cheese! — Scrumptious! SERVICE The service is excellent, attentive but not overbearing. Its customer relation is impeccable, too — see below. CUSTOMERRELATIONS One evening, the nice lady manager gave us FREE desserts(see pic) and coffee, just because the wait staff needed to move our table a few feet, in order to let the table next to us add more seats. She was super friendly, apologetic for the slight inconvenience. That was a DELICIOUS surprise, indeed! Our FREE Desserts included: Cheese Cake; Donut Holes, coffees, AND a bag of Cookies to take home! — Well, this is the MARK of superb customer relation practice! PARKING There is a small FREE parking lot around the corner on the other side of Stanford’s Restaurant. We like its food, service and ambience so much that we keep going back there for more! Really enjoyable place! I come here as many times as I can. They have amazing food and I love taking my friends here when we’re in town. There are times I’m so hungry, I forget to take pictures of my food… fortunately I was able to capture a few to show you. :) Almost everything I’ve tried has been amazing here. The menu changes every so often so you have plenty of things to try out. Currently they have Fried Shishito Peppers that are super tasty — a touch of salt and not too spicy, but I would have loved if they were. I also enjoyed the Butternut Squash Soup — creamy. You can never go wrong with the Corner’s Tavern Burger — out of this world! They make a pretty hardy Cubano, too — which I ate too fast to capture. They once had this delicious crunchy and sweet fried Pork Skin, too. It can get busy some day, so remember to make reservations or call to order out!

Pros: I normally don’t like chilaquiles, but they have the best version of that dish I’ve ever had. The brisket hash is delicious, but heavy on the butter. The French press coffee is nice and smooth. Parking is convenient with a big garage not too far. The place doesn’t get as crowded as other Walnut Creek restaurants. They can open up one of their walls to turn the place into an open air style restaurant on days with nice weather. Cons: Prices can run a bit high. The brisket hash was $ 18 alone.

Just had lunch here and it was spectacular. Anywhere with delicious bread and butter while you wait is amazing in my book. I’ve gone here many times for dinner and haven’t been too impressed, but today’s lunch menu was through the roof fantastic. Seafood stew. You gotta have it. Delicious meats, fresh seafood and sauce to die for. Will definitely come back soon!

Chilaquiles for breakfast($ 12) and a tiny(but perfect) $ 5 bloody mary. Perfect over runny eggs that break and seep right into the smoked chicken and roasted tortillas that are already swimming in their delicious hot and spicy tomato sauce/salsa. This is my 5th trip here and never once have I gotten poor service. Our group of 4 actually showed up 15 minutes before open and we were still greeted with a smile and invited to sit at the bar and turn on the Raiders game while they got ready to finish opening. One of the servers even remembered us from our last visit weeks ago. The ambience is always warm and inviting. They have really good art all over the place. The restaurant is always clean and so is the food. The drinks are always on point. Side note: My girlfriend was dissatisfied with her first breakfast she ordered(cheddar bacon biscuits). The sausage was pretty flavorless. I tasted it and agreed. She sent it back and ordered the chilaquiles. After our meal one of the managers asked us what was wrong with the dish so they could work on getting in right next time. He didn’t challenge us. He didn’t try to demoralize us(which I’ve dealt with in other restaurants). He came off as sincere and polite. That’s how you get a customers loyalty. That’s how you build a business. These folks are doing it right and deserve 6 stars.

My love of this restaurant rests solely on their cocktails. I’ve yet to have a bad one. By far, the ABV was one of the most unique adult version of a appletini you will ever have. Because, lets admit appletini’s are kind of for the novice drinker. The ABV is Hangar One Vodka, Apples, Basil, fresh Lemon, vanilla bean simple syrup, Absinthe rinse. Absinthe, you read correctly, Absinthe. Its a lovely concoction. The Pink Cougar is pretty good. It has 3 olives Pomegranate Vodka, Hibiscus Syrup, fresh lemon, Prosecco. Its a good summer sipping cocktail for the ladies if you know what I mean. The food is Ok. I’m not as wowed by the food as I am by the cocktails and bar. I’ve had the Tuna Niçoise Salad. The Tuna was fresh and succulent. Plus its a decent size with a decent amount of fish. I’ve also had the Pulled Pork Tacos. A nice version of street tacos with pulled pork. Rather spicy for my taste but a great way to use pulled pork. We don’t always get food here. We sometimes on a date day come down and sit at the bar. The bartenders are great and fast at making those custom cocktails. That’s always a must for us.

Came here with a group of 12 for a team dinner. The beer selection was pretty good. Ordered the ceviche, wings, cracklins(pork rinds), and the Brussel sprouts as appetizers. All of it was tasty and prepared well. Only a few people didn’t order salads. The salad I got was very tasty even though I skipped the bacon. Main courses were all over the board, from the steak to the fish dishes to the pork chop. No complaints to be made. Similar to the appetizers, all of the main dishes were prepared well. The multiple servers did a good job of attending to the needs of everyone at the table. The food was good. The only confusing thing of the whole experience was trying to make the reservation. I was informed that the two locations where they usually seat large parties was taken. Throughout our visit the restaurant possibly reached 50% capacity, and no other large groups came. Ah well.

On such a sunny Sunday, we decided to hit up this spot for a little late lunch. We decided to be seated on the inside(kudos to air conditioning) and luckily the set up of the restaurant allowed us to still enjoy the sunny view of the outside. My order consisted of a Corners Burger(w/avocado and Reissdorf Kolsh Beer. I really appreciated the presentation of the dish, since everything was laid out on a wooden board. More importantly the actual burger itself was YUMMY! At a medium, the burger was nice and juicy and I really thought the topping combination was complimentary. I’m just a sucker for a pickled something(in this case the pickled onion), since it contrasts well with the saltiness of the cheese and meat. And the avocado was just the cherry on top! Cool spot for lunch and I wouldn’t mind coming back if I’m in the area to try something different!

Great place to grab dinner! Love the décor and love the ambiance of the place. Street parking made it easy or there is parking in the back. I ordered the fried chicken and it was pretty amazing! We brought our son here and they were super good about having space and accommadations for him. I would definitely come back and I would recommend to family and friends.
