Waiting long time to get my food, we just don’t know how to smile. Anyway, food was very delicious, but ice tea no taste. I will come back order food to go.

Then sushi was good better than the last place because the rolls were not as small. Somehow it seemed like we got two waiters and they didn’t know it. So we were over check up on and could barley have a conversation without on of them asking if we want another drink or more food or desert or taking our plates. Great service but just a little too much in your face kind of service. Overall the food was really good and didn’t take much time.

Had a dinner date here on a Saturday night around 830pm. The restaurant was pretty full but we were seated right away. We ordered the Oyama Boat which is an assortment of nigiri and sashimi. We both got a miso soup and salted edamame before our meal — pretty standard flavor. Our food arrived and WOW the sashimi was probably the best quality I’ve ever had at a sushi restaurant. Each piece melted in your mouth and worth every penny. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality– no wonder why it was so packed. We didn’t order any specialty rolls but from the looks of the tables next to us they looked pretty tasty. Overall, if we wanted to splurge again, I’d come back here just for the nigiri and sashimi!

Mediocre Japanese restaurant. The rolls here are a little overpriced for the quality. Service isn’t outstanding either. I’d say Sasa(across the street) may be a bit more expensive but is definitely better in terms of quality and ambiance.

Me and my family stop by after going camping on our way home. This is the worst sushi place every. On Unilocal people say it’s really. good but I think it’s the local. We are from San Francisco we had far better sushi then this place. The fish is not even fresh. I love handrolls but omg worst taste gross. The seaweed wrapper so hard can’t even chew through it. The rolls are so bland and the soy sauce salty. Customer service sucks here one waiter, our food was on the counter and we had to wait until the waiter put the dishes away it’s like they should have more waiters. Not one waiter doing everything. Never every going here again.

Service was incredible slow. The presentation was ok but the fish itself lacked flavor and tasted old. This sushi place was really a disappointment.

I’ve passed by this place many times, and finally decided to stop by. It was Saturday night around 7, the place had about 8 tables. We almost left after 15 mins of waiting with no one acknowledging us at the table, but we waited it out. That was a mistake because it was a sign of things to come. Took 15 mins to place a drink order, we ordered 5 items. 2 rolls, 2 hand rolls and uni. Somehow our waitress forgot one of the hand rolls. It was sitting there for 10 mins and only received it upon reminding her. Although the portions were decent, the fish lacked flavor. It was just very bland and did not stand out. For the price of their rolls I would not come back. Even if their rolls were 3 $ cheaper I wouldn’t eat there. Lastly, uni on the menu was priced at $ 13, but they charged $ 15 on our bill. When we asked them about it, they tried to argue with us that they have 2 types of uni and one is pricier than other. None of this was conveyed to us when we ordered. It’s not about $ 2 but it’s the principle. Would not return and would not recommend. This place is at best a 2 star sushi bar.

Best ever 3 rolls 2 orders of mussels and 1 order of fried potstickers and 5 pc order of assorted fish for only 2 people! Our first time here definitely need to come back soon. Absolutely best sushi in the east bay by far!

Had dinner Tuesday night and sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by the server and sushi chef Alex. The service was very prompt and food was even better. Ordered almost every Nigiri from the menu top to bottom and I must say they were all fresh and tasty. Alex took great care of us and made sure we were completely satisfied with our meals. I am glad I found this spot and will visit frequently. Looking forward to try their Kobi Beef next time.

Well I said we’d go elsewhere, but my fiancé is fond of Oyama. So on Thursday night after picking up my fiancé at BART Lafayette, we hit Oyama again and ordered some sushi. While I kind of have an adversity of your typical Americanized rolls like caterpillar, California, and other rolls, I ended up trying something different. So different… i forgot the damn name of the roll! However I did take a really good pic of it(the natural lighting was just right). I also had a spicy salmon skin hand roll. I’d say between the two, the roll was actually better! Not a big fan of crazy sauces drenched rolls, but this one seemed to work for me because while it had sauce, it wasn’t over the top. And it didn’t taste like a freakin’ candied yam sushi roll. I think everyone knows or has had one of those rolls! Anyways, a four star experience. My mind has changed a bit in the positive direction.

My girlfriend and I came here for lunch and on 3÷25÷16 and I have to say this place is a gem! Mickey was our server and she was awesome. But even better, was the plate presentations of the food & the quality. Hands down one of the best quality Hamachi Nigiri I’ve had in the Bay this far! And the Happy Hour is EVERYDAY230−530pm and it is amazing. My new go to spot. Thanks you guys!

Food was coming too slow. Service was not even existed, dont go when there’s a game, the whole staff team is watching. The chicken terriyaki was not throughly cooked, maybe the chef was too busy watching tv.

Let’s start with the good. The plates are beautiful, the décor is also equally beautiful and the wait staff(all one of them) is very nice. Now— Let’s get to the ugly. After waiting 30 minutes for my roll(fish wrapped in nori, no rice, no sauce), I watched a couple that came in 15 minutes after us sit, eat, pay and leave. Lovely. At the 35 minute wait mark, I got my roll and it was beautiful but wrong. It had extra stuff I didn’t order and it had sauce. But after waiting so long for this freaking roll, I felt, hey, I should get what I want, right??? WRONG. The sushi chef had a total hissy fit and refused to fix HIS mistake. Instead, he made at least 6 other rolls for other people(that came in AFTER me) ahead of mine, made me wait another ½ hour for my food WHILE my entire party waited for me to eat. When it was finally ready, it was a half assed, SMALL ass, thrown together blind folded, poorly formed«roll» that was obviously made out of anger. Yes, the waitress was super embarrassed, I could tell. With each roll she brought out that wasn’t mine she blushed and was apologetic. So, this review is entirely for the sushi chef: get over yourself. There were people that came in 30 minutes after us who ate and left a good 20 minutes before us. This was incredibly infuriating and totally unprofessional. It wasn’t my fault you got my order wrong, and it wasn’t the waitresses fault that you decided to have a tantrum in the middle of doing your job. So grow up please. The embarrassing thing for me was that I was the one that recommended this place. What an idiot am I.

I absolutely love this sushi restaurant. I feel like I could eat here everyday. a Miso soup, seaweed salad and a spicy tuna roll with green tea and water. They only thing is busy or not the waiter or waitress seem to forget about you. Other than that, it’s a heaven for me. I think I was helped by the owner or owners wife once, and she was so welcoming and warm. It definitely made me want to come back and eat more sushi. I would be over the moon if they delivered.

I have been to Oyama 5 times now, and I have never been disappointed. Fast, friendly service, lively atmosphere, and great sushi. I tried their Nagiri for the first time last night. Mind blown. It was so good! I definitely would recommend this place for a fun date with your SO or an outing with a few friends.

Oyama has a nice location situated in downtown WC. This place serves decent but pricey rolls. My boyfriend and I ordered the Oyama Special Roll(18.95), Uni & Yellowtail nigiri, and Shrimp Udon. The Uni(14.95) for two pieces did not disappoint. I would not recommend ordering the plain and overpriced udon. Tip: parking can be difficult on the Main Street, but there is a parking structure on the other side of the building.

The food was good, the fish was relatively fresh, the rice was cooked great, but the service was a bit off. But overall, it is good. Steer parking and close to DT. We had: sunomono salad, cherry blossom roll, lamb chop(which was tender), mackerel fish(also soft and good)

Pros: Easy to get into Salmon collar was good. Nice interior. Plays Warrior games on their tvs. Cons: Eggplant appetizer was tiny, dry, chewy, and bland. Chicken karage was dry and bland. Baked scallop role had an overwhelming amount of mayo. Jalapeño jumper roll was saturated in this sour sauce. Very loud inside.

They really know how to treat their customers. I came here for my birthday dinner a couple weeks ago with my family, and I was not disappointed. They don’t have your usual bento boxes… a lot more fancy than what I am used to. And also pretty pricey during dinner time. I ordered the unagi over rice. And the sushi boat to share among 3 members of my family. It comes with three pieces of each nigiri and each sashimi. The fish melts in your mouth. But it’s like $ 80. The waitresses were so friendly and made sure to tell us what kind of fish was on the boat once they served it to us.(It’s written on the menu, but in order for us to differentiate among them.) And I almost don’t want to ruin your birthday experience here so SPOILERALERT. It really caught me off guard, they started playing happy birthday over the intercom, and they came out with a slice of green tea cheesecake circled in mochi ice cream(chocolate, strawberry, and mango). Thank you Oyama for making my birthday memorable! I love ya for it.
