I am surprised that Sharon does not have more five star reviews, because she is incredible and has been doing this a long time. However, I am not surprised, because people do not often Unilocal about their therapists. I guess people do not want to appear«crazy»…lol. I for one am not afraid to admit I am a bit crazy;) I think everyone could benefit a good therapist though. I have been in counseling for over 20 years and have seen many counselor’s in that time. I can honestly say Sharon is the best and most gifted therapist I have ever seen. She specializes in trauma and EMDR, however she would be helpful in any scenario I would imagine. I was new to Walnut Creek and read some interested articles on EMDR, so I did a Unilocal search and her name came up. It didn’t hurt that she had a five star review either. I was a little hesitant as I did not consider my issues to be in the«trauma» category. I thought that meant I had to have been severely abused either physically, mentally, sexually ect… but I quickly learned that in my childhood I perceived issues as traumatic and that is how my brain processed it. I could tell from our first conversation on the phone that I really liked her. It is important to vibe with your therapist since it will be a long term relationship in which you have to be vunerable and talk about things that may be painful. Sharon is very warm and I can tell she genuinly cares about me and resolving my problems. She always gets what I am saying and she always gived me plenty of time to spill my guts. But unlike some therapists who just let you talk, take notes and tell you your time is up, she is able to break it all down back to me in laymens terms as to why I do what I do and how to remedy it. I have learned more about myself and coping skills, in the 1 ½ years that I have seen her then in the other 20 years with other therapists. She has taken my texts on weekends and helped me find other counselors in my insurance for my daughter. She has recommended good books, websites, even grief support groups for when my husband lost his father. She has a wealth of knowledge and wisdom. She is kind hearted, non judgemental and gives great advice. I am so blessed that I found her. You can’t go wrong with Sharon!

I was actually referred to Sharon when I was inquiring about counseling. Trinet referred me to her since she was in the area. Let me add that she was truly a blessing in disguise! I’ve been seeing her for over 2 months now, every Thursday and in these 2 months, she has helped me tremendously in all aspects of my life. Sharon specializes in trauma, which happens to be one of the reasons why I sought counseling. She has over 22 years of experience in this field. We have done EMDR twice and both times, I have been able to let some traumatic experiences go or at least have them be less traumatic to where it affected me in my everyday life. I’ve shared my experiences going to Sharon with my friends and surprisingly, a lot of my friends have gone to counseling and went through dozens of sessions and different therapists and didn’t get the results they expected. They didn’t get the help they needed nor the compassion from their therapists. There’s no shame in seeking counseling. When you go through so many tragic events in your life, you either let these events affect you and how you grow as a person or you do what’s best for you and do something about it. I chose to see a therapist to gain perspective and put my mind and heart at ease. I’ve learned so much in 2 months and I now have the tools to move forward. You’d be surprised to find out how many people you know have gone through therapy. It’s helpful and it’s amazing! I hope that everyone has a great experience like I had.
