Went to this place while I was visiting for the weekend for the Super Bowl. Very impressed with the friendliness from the waiters and loved the open kitchen concept. I order the King salmon with the garlic mash potatoes and it was top 3 best dishes I have ever eaten. Highly recommend this establishment.

Ordered the Mediterranean platter appetizer. The Baba Ganoush was awful and the dolmas had a strange smell. The humus was very bland as well.

Liked: Waitress polite and nice; Rosemary Bread with the balsamic vinegar and oil; pepperoni pizza was decent tasting.
Disliked: My $ 18 Spanish Paella. It was pretty bland. The shrimp tasted flavorless and the spicey sausages tasted overcooked. It was also too wet. Even the rice was bland. I had the sampler Mediterranean plate. It was horrible. The babaganush tasted lousy, the hummus needed more tahini taste, the tabuleh was fair. The only good thing was the fresh crisp lavish — like bread to dip with. I would not come here again unless I was desperate.

Nice restaurant, liked our waitress, great tiramisu! I would given 4 stars to it; however it is a little bit overpriced.

Got to try this place during a weekend visit to the area. Fortunately it did not disappoint. To start of, there is a parking garage right behind the restaurant. It’s free with validation. The interior of the restaurant has a warm and cozy feel to it with plenty of seating. The service was excellent. Very friendly and attentive. Wish more restaurants were like this. The food was solid. It is a little expensive, but you do get generous portions. The Chicken Kabob in particular was pretty good. Well cooked, good flavor. Overall, nice place relax and grab some mediterranean food in Walnut Creek.

I feel that Taheri’s is a hidden gem. I’ve eaten here about 5 times. The food has been consistently very tasty and nicely presented. I’m particularly fond of the chocolate walnut torte — my favorite dessert of all time. The waiter(Matt) was very attentive and helpful. I don’t believe that you’ll go wrong if you come here. The menu really does have something for everyone!

A little(hopefully brief) background: my wife is dying from lung cancer. Our friends and family-both those in the Bay Area and those that are not – have banded together to help my family out by providing meals. With so many people not in the area, we’ve had a lot of food delivered. So my dad, at my suggestion, ordered us food from Taheri’s. This restaurant does not deliver. But you can have food delivered through Food To You and other services but my dad is older and he didn’t quite get that when he tried ordering us food. But when he explained the particulars of our situation to the restaurant what happened was this: the owner of Taheri’s himself drove the food out to our home. They made an exception in order to help my family out when we were in real need of help. The food, as noted throughout Unilocal here, was really good. The bottom line: if the nature/personality/humanity/whatever of a business matters to you in any way, then Taheri’s deserves your business. These are good people. We’ll be eating there fairly regularly from now on.

I am in Walnut Creek about once a month and stay at the Embassy Suites. I have never had a bad meal or bad service here. It is a nice quiet restaurant within walking distance and I always enjoy the meal.

First time here. Embarassed to say lived in the area for over 25-years and never even knew this place was here. Yikes? SO and I visited here this past weekend/Friday night. Walked in around 730pm and got a table right away(wasn’t sure how to take this?). It was very good. Service was very good. Our waitress was competent and attentive(but not overly so). She even recommended our selections. My SO had the sausage pizza. I had the crab capelllini(angel hair pasta). We both shared a Greek salad. The salad was excellent and even though it was shared, it was plenty. Lots of fresh lettuce(romaine), tomatoes, feta cheese, kalamata olives and a very palate cleansing dressing(very light and lemony, with a touch of herbs and mint). Nice start. The pizza was excellent. Crust was crunchy(not dry), cheese was flavorful and stringy(not soggy). The sauce was peppery(not the herb, the fruit). The sausage was excellent. Not that«fake» sausage you get at Dominos but the real mckoy you get when you order Italian sausage at an Italian restaurant. Flavorful, spicy and with a fennel taste(all Italian sausages have fennel in them). It was hot out of the oven and quickly brought out to our table. Cut into about 8-pieces. Nice The crab capellini was outstanding(one of the most expensive dishes on the menu and worth it). The crab was plentiful(lots of places give you about 3 – 4 clumps of crab in a dish like this). Here, I got about 8 – 10 pieces of crab(albeit, pieces were small but tasty). The sauce was more of a garlic/oilive oil infusion but it was perfect for this dish. Most Italian versions of shellfish dishes have this kind of(white) sauce, especially with angel hair pasta as the backing. This dish was full of garlic, olive oil, feta cheese and crab. One thing I didn’t like was that it also had pieces of tomato in it(a bit too many, though). It would have been fine w/out the tomatoes or even with much less of them. It didn’t take that much away from my enjoyment of the dish. Overall, a very nice meal. Served competently. Little to no wait. However, parking was a bit of challenge(since it is near the W.C. Embassy Suites). Where parking is a challenge. We parked at the P.H. Bart station, just across the street. But there is parking adjacent to it,(the restaurant) accessible if you turn left at the light in front of it(off Oak Rd.) The parking structure(free) is just to the left, after the light. Buon apetite.

Had lunch and dinner here two separate times in the past 2 months. The service is good. The appetizers are great. The first time I had the salmon for lunch. It was very good. The second time I had tuna for dinner. It was cooked the way I wanted it. The presentation could have been ‘prettier’, but the food was good. My husband enjoyed his meals as well.

One of the places that we stopped at on our«Farewell to Walnut Creek Tour» was Taheri’s, a restaurant we’d spied while passing by a few times, but never really stopped to take a look at… until this particular time. It’s a nice little«hideaway» nestled not far from Embassy Suites Walnut Creek, and VERY convenient to the Pleasant Hill BART station. The«Mediterranean» in their name refers to a few of their dishes and many of their apps, but some of the other fare is straight-up American, with a not-surprising emphasis on seafood, of which I am not a particular fan. We started off with spanakopita, which I found tasty, if a bit small portion-wise. We were treated to some particularly yummy, warm rosemary-baked focaccia before the apps arrived, which was just the ticket, dipped into the customary mix of EVOO and balsamic vinegar. But following the spanakopita and the house salad, we soon discovered what you should really be coming to Taheri’s for… THEPIZZA! Baked to light, crispy, golden perfection in their wood-fired oven, with the toppings integrated beautifully into the dough,(the Margherita is incredible!), it’s absolutely one of the best pizzas I think we’d had since moving to SF. And there is a LOT of good pizza in the Bay Area! Wish we’d made this discovery MUCH sooner. I lament the fact that now we will taste Taheri’s pies no more, since relocating to Vegas. But do us a favor… toast us with a couple of slices, okay? Often?

Ordered take out. Asked for no diary/cheese, salad came slathered in cheese. Asked for lemon dressing got Caesar instead. That’s cool.

The fact that I could get in on a Saturday night with 6 people should have been a clue, basically, this place should be on that show«Restaurant Impossible». I have had better meals on an airplane. The only saving grace was my husband’s pizza which was out of this world and the garlic mashed potatoes. The wine list is undrinkable, you have a better chance of keeping your tooth enamel drinking turpentine. This place is a bastion of bottled salad dressing, mushy tomatoes, and rubbery shrimp — with a price tag that would make you expect it to be edible. We paid over 200.00 — without alcohol or starter salads — and 2 people split! Hopefully, this place will go away and make room for something we can’t get into on a Saturday night.

Taheri’s is a respectable mixed Mediterranean restaurant tucked somewhat on an awkward corner on the fringe of Walnut Creek. Very convenient from the Embassy Suites next door, if you’re staying there. You’ll find a variety of fare, including Greek inspired apps, pastas, and pizza, with a particular emphasis on seafood. We started with an order of spanikopita which was flavorful but a bit oily. The portion is pretty small for the price. The Greek salad was very nice with a lemony vinaigrette atop a healthy sample of cucumbers, feta, and a sprig of mint. I had a spicy seafood pasta which was well prepared and included a generous portion of shellfish(clams, mussels, shrimp) in a spicy red sauce. The pizzas were also good with a nice crisp crust and soft chewy center. Prices are on par with the area, maybe a bit high for some things and quite competitive in others. They do have a free entrée coupon in the Entertainment book if you’re so inclined. This isn’t particularly convenient from my place, so I probably won’t be racing back, but if I were more of a local, it would be a decent choice.

Taheri’s has always been a favorite. We’ve been going there for years and have also used their catering services. The last visit was like countless others, I.e. excellent. Food and service were above reproach. You should go there!

Company had a private dinner there tonight. Dont know if company chose the menu of if restaurant did, but the only thing Mediterranean about it was the hummus and tabouli and dolmas, all of which were so-so. Mashed potatoes were ok. Salmon I don’t eat. Beef I dont eat. Pasta was so-so. Salad ok. Waitress was good, nice, hot. 3 stars just for her :)

Had lunch with my coworkers today and was pleasantly surprised at the menu. I hadn’t been here in a couple of years and was happy to see they have lots of new items on the menu. I ordered the Vegetable Lasagna and it was so light and delicious. I love that they don’t load it down with tons of cheese — it is actually what it says — a vegetable lasagna. Red sauce, vegetables(squash and mushrooms) and a little bit of cheese on top. Absolutely perfect! We sat outside on this beautiful hot Summer day. Nice shade and even carpet.

Talk about fake Mediterranean food … This is the place to be… Chicken have no flavor at all. Even the added grilled chicken in house salad was very tasteless. Needed a lot of salt and pepper and we were even seasoning it with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. It was cooked well but totally lacked seasoning. Mediterranean platter– tasteless and awful. Definitely had better tabbouleh and eggplant spread and hummus. This plate is so small that it should not be called a platter at all. It only included two very small grape leaves with again no flavor. Service is good which deserves one star but the rest of the food is tasteless and very Americanized. They do not even have any beef or lamb kabob. How could this be Mediterranean??? The saffron rice again was tasteless. Prices are bit on the high side and I don’t think it’s priced well for the tasteless food they offer. Their menu have too many choices which kind of strays them from being Mediterranean. They offer pizza and pasta which is not Mediterranean. So it makes you wonder is this place Italian or Mediterranean. I think a lot of people come here for lunch because of convenience and nice ambiance. However I Will never come back to this place again.

Taheri’s is no gastronomic, gourmet gem, but it is very competent in many areas. I had an easy walk with other guests at the hotel and then they quickly sat about twenty of us down. They took all our drink orders and they constantly refilled them. The bread was good. Their fettuccine officially uses a red sauce, which is weird because for fettuccine a creamy alfredo sauce is the international standard. They allowed me to order fettuccine alfredo. When the meal came, it was of a moderate portion. I saw the care they put into it and the sauce as well as pasta was well arranged. It tasted wonderful. The bill came quickly and they made a cake for the birthday of one of my fellow guests. You probably will find better places in the Bay Area especially in San Francisco, Oakland and lots of Contra Costa County. The bottom line is that the place is competent, the food tastes great and you will enjoy yourself. Taheri’s is good for a party or a quick thrill.
