Seriously guys, for the suburbs and for its first year running, these guys did a bang-up job. Yes, it began hot. I’ll bet they’ll get that covered and cooled for the kitties next year(if they didn’t have adequate cat coolers — I’m not sure they didn’t). They’ll promote, that’s what these things do! — just give ‘em 3 to 5 years for it to season. But by then, you’ll have missed out on some great chances to see these same great videos with a smaller town vibe, and nice folks to boot.

This one was A LOT smaller than the Oakland one and I don’t think it was promoted as much as the Oakland one too. There weren’t many vendors and was quiet for the most part. It kind of bummed me out since the Oakland was bigger. It was nice to watch the videos on the baseball field. The weather was nice and everyone was laying on the grass. A lot of people ended up coming for just the videos. Walnut Creek, please promote this better next year!

Wow! Was really expecting more. We were there at 3 when the event started. Several vendors weren’t prepared yet. It was a very hot day and the cats for adoption were ALL panting. They had icy water bottles in with them, and some were being fanned, but it seemed cruel to have them out in the heat. There were many vendors to begin with, but our favorites were Pet Food Express from downtown Walnut Creek, and two different artsy tables, from two stores in Lafayette. Both will be at the Lafayette ARt & Wine Festival at the end of the month. Hopefully it will be a cooler day and I can enjoy their art more at that event. I was excited for festival food. Too bad for me! There was a chicago style hot dog truck and a frozen custard truck. Frozen custard sounded amazing, but at 330 when we were on our way out the owner said it’d be another ten minutes until she was ready. Did nobody get the memo with the event start time? Lucky for us, we could hear live music while we were walking around, and so we headed up the hill to the Greenery where an awesome party was taking place with shade and good food! Several of the easy-up booths there had misting features, spraying cool water on the people in line. I hope the cats were adopted and taken to nice, air-conditioned homes. Perhaps misting fans might work for kitties, too? The similar Oakland Internet Cat Video Festival was much better than this small, unorganized event. I hope they learn from their mistakes if they repeat this event next year. At least the $ 10 entry cost went to a good cause.

Heads up… Go if you want to waste your time, we thought there was gonna be more to do. Very small, nothing to see or do. Just a bunch of typical crazed cat people. Seemed like it was more of a cat adoption then anything else. Save your time and money.

Being a cat lover and an Internet Video Connoisseur this is the event for me. With all sorts of feline inspired venders, delicious food and a movie that starts when the sun goes down, this is going to be a very fun day. The movie is a collection off all the best Internet cat videos from Grumpy Cat to Sparta cat, and the recent Sail Cat. Sail.
