Everything was going well and the food was great. It was my first time coming to L&L’s and I really enjoyed their BBQ short ribs. Halfway through my meal, I reach to grab the soy sauce container and I am met by a baby COCKROACH! Yuck! They really need to get the health inspector there ASAP. If it weren’t for that I would have given this place 5 stars but that is just beyond disgusting.

The quality of the chicken is really really bad, and your teriyaki sauce was very disappointing. Such low viscosity, it was like pouring water. The place is really nice though and the staff is attentive, however I will not be returning

I ordered the chicken bowl with veggies and white rice…6 hrs later intestinal distress beyond belief… So, as I «SIT» here, I find myself reading the ingredients on the back of a Pepto Bismol bottle, did you know one of the ingredients is magnesium aluminum sulfate! Isn’t that flammable… enough said…

Their spam musubi is really moist and it smells. I like the Ono Hawaiian and bleu house one better. They are also small, I didn’t like it that much. From 1 – 10 I would give it a 5. They have the offer every Tuesday of $ 1 per one spam. So that’s cool. HELLNOIMCHANGINGMYANSWERFROM A 5TO A 0. This thing made me queasy. NONONO, NEVERAGAIN.

3 and half stars! Standard Hawaiian cuisine with Californian service Food — I have tried the pork katsu udon, Lau Lau combo, bbq plate. They are all pretty good. Price — most of the dish are under $ 10 on the menu and the portion are very fair. Environment — smells and looks clean. ambient is bright. I recommend to eat outdoor to enjoy some breeze. Service — can’t complain but don’t expect you are in Hawaii lol.

I came here for dinner on a Sunday night, there wasn’t much of line, but there were other people. The service was great, the cashier helped me decide what to get and gave me some recommendations according to what I liked. The food came extremely fast, only about 5 minutes passed from ordering that my food was ready. The food was delicious and very filling. I will definitely come again.

Loving the spam Musubis. Only came here for those. The place itself is well decorated and I feel comfortable being here. I’m enjoying my lunch with my friend at the moment and I would recommend this place to anyone! P. S. Try all of their Musubis! They are affordable and delicious!

The food is standard. The service is poor. Workers need to put some«Aloha» in their customer service. I pre-ordered food from their catering menu for a work event. There was a miscommunication that rice was included with a particular entrée when ordered over the phone. I was already spending way over $ 100 bucks on food, but she still wanted to charge me for a to-go box of plain white rice. C’mon it’s white rice, I thought, it costs you pennies… let me have the rice! Clearly this lady did not want repeat business from me. I’ll save my next L&L experience for the real deal in Hawaii and opt for a mom and pop Hawaiian restaurant here on the mainland.

Service was very friendly when I walked in but the food was not very good. Fatty bbq chicken that was raw in some parts not good at all. Ordered the bbq chicken with curry on the side. Neither was very good. The macaroni salad was okay. I like the chicken curry from their competitor. Was hoping for something more fresh from this chain. Won’t be back

The Good: Tuesdays they have the $ 1 musubi. The bad: Most of the food(like all Hawaiian food) tends to be very greasy. The service isn’t great, not terrible, but at times slow even when the place isnt busy. The Ugly: Not too much

The Mahi-Mahi mini plate deserves 1 star. It was very disappointing. Dry, over cooked and no flavor. I got the garlic season. Never again will i get this plate. Oh! And they forgot to put my Macaroni salad! How dare they! I’ll be sticking to my regular bbq chicken and double check the mac salad is in there.

I’m all about that dolla musubi Tuesdays! I loooove musubi but I love it even more when it’s only a dollar for the regular spam musubi and $ 1.25 for the chicken katsu musubi! The hubs usually get the chicken katsu meal and he likes it. Service is always courteous, efficient, and prompt. They have a condiment bar on the side. Don’t forget to grab extra sauces to go!

Love this place. I have been going here ever since I moved to diamond bar(7 yrs) and they just keep getting better and better. The staff is super friendly and they don’t take as long as other places do. Chicken katsu is my ultimate fav.

The service is terrible… the workers there just don’t seem like they want to work there. The chicken katsu w/curry was so gross! Almost puked… they should get rid of some fat on the chicken and use chicken that’s edible. Curry was greasy and watery. Everything went straight to trash can.

$ 1 Spam Musubi Tuesdays!!! WHOCANSAYNO? I have seriously been going to L&L every Tuesday for the past few weeks for the musubis. Spam musubis are good, but the BBQCHICKENONESAREBOMB!!! They are ONLY $ 1.25 each. Also, there are a ton of other options. I know the BBQBEEF one is also amazing at $ 1.50. ONLYONTUESDAYSBEFORE10PM! I wouldn’t pay $ 2 for a musubi, but I think at $ 1.25, it is well-worth it! One of the best things is that they don’t skimp out on the meat. I was soooo surprised to see that there was actually more chicken than rice. Don’t forget the sriracha sauce to go with the musubi for that extra kick!

Unilocal 2015 Challenge #9 Mini Chicken Katsu. Can you believe it? I got full of a mini! Ordered the chicken katsu and it came with a side of macaroni and rice under. You can also get the spicy chicken katsu and it’s the same price, and they have the spicy sauce on the side as well :) It’s a little dry, but that’s why you have the sauce there to try and make it moist! Pour it all over the rice too: D Macaroni is warm but good(: I don’t know why the ratings are so low for here: O It’s pretty good, hawaiian food! The service is pretty good, but it does take a little bit longer for the food to come to the table. They have sales on Tuesday, spam musubi is $ 1 :D if the signs there didn’t lie to me. Mwhaha. Just come here on Tuesdays: P This is in the Northwest corner of the Village, next to TJ Maxx, Rubios, Starbucks, and Pieology. :)

I usually never have a problem but today was different. I made a order to go and when I got there my order was ready to be paid for and bagged. The girl who helped me had dirty finger nails(I hope she doesn’t help in the kitchen)! She bagged my two meals, utensils, etc, along with my gravy sides and she didn’t tape them. I didn’t think anything of it until I got home. The utensils ripped the bag and because she didn’t tape my gravy, it spilled all over the bag and all over my floor mats in the car. Thanks but no thanks l&l bbq. Not until you properly train your employees, I probably wont be coming back anytime soon.

Since us Los Angelenos aren’t blessed with good independent Hawaiian restaurants like Vegas is, the chain of L&Ls will have to do. This place is always reliable with its consistency in cooking up some decent Hawaiian dishes. There’s nothing bad to say about the chicken katsu. I like to change up the sauce every once in a while, from Katsu to Curry, to Ketchup+Tabasco. The Loco Moco isn’t too bad either. nothing special but good enough if you’re craving a gravy-smothered meal. I haven’t had any horrible meal from here. everything from short ribs to Mahi-Mahi have all been pretty good. All rice dishes come with a side of macaroni salad. Portions are pretty big. a «mini» size of any dish is a perfect individual amount. Don’t miss out on $ 1 spam masubi Tuesdays! Also not a bad choice for a caterer.

According to my coworkers, L&L Hawaiian Barbeque is as good as it gets when it comes to Hawaiian food. But, after visiting this L&L, I can’t help but think that if L&L serves up really good Hawaiian food, then Hawaiian food has room for improvement. Their Hawaiian BBQ chicken is nicely marinated, but, normally when I order it, the chicken is burnt. It is unfortunate that they are stingy with rice. But, all L&L’s give only 2 scoops of rice. You can get an additional scoop if you pay more. Tuesday at the L&L in Walnut is Musubi Tuesday, where Spam Musubi is $ 1. My wife and daughter has taken a liking to Spam Musubi. I don’t like soggy seaweed wrapped around rice and Spam. They have other types of Musubi for a little bit more on Tuesdays The L&L in La Verne has Poke. This one does not. But, if they did, would I be brave enough to try it? I’ve tried to like this L&L. But, every time I come here for their chicken, I leave disappointed. Overall 2 ½ stars.

Spam Musubi, Spam Musubi, and occasionally the Chicken Katsu. The wait is okay on weekdays during lunch hour. They have a few tables outside for those days you just wanna enjoy the nice weather. There’s plenty of seating inside and they have a TV. Workers are drones and seem like they would like not to help you and pass you along to the other cashier when possible. Is it really that hard to punch in numbers and throw on a fake smile?
