Rubio’s

Went here for the fish tacos and although cheap on Tuesdays, the fish tacos are not as good as other places I’ve tried. I don’t my want to go to details, but the guy cashier wasn’t too polite when I ordered my tacos. Which is why this place is a two in my book.

Located between Ten Ren’s and L&L Hawaiian BBQ and across from Pieology, Rubio’s is casual dining of Baja California and Mexican style food with an emphasis on seafood; they pride themselves in having sustainable seafood, but also have choices of chicken and beef. There are tacos, burritos, bowls, and salads. Each range from $ 7 – 10. They also serve alcohol, from beer and sangria. They have a Taco Tuesday with the Original Fish Taco for $ 1.50 after 2:30pm. Its a mix of a fast food and restaurant because they bring your food to you (if you dine in), but you serve yourself for salsa and drinks. They have Odwalla lemonade and strawberry lemonade, iced teas, and assortment of sodas and the salsa bar consists of different salsas, cilantro and onions, limes, and lemons.
The staff here is amazing — they greet you, are super patient and friendly! If you dine in, they bring your food to you. It’s casual but still has that feeling that you’re in a restaurant. The food is always fresh and tasty. They aren’t stingy on the seafood or meat at all, so it’s good amount and value for the price. I have only tried the tacos and burritos and each one has never disappointed, from the beer-​battered fish, shrimp, Mahi Mahi, tilapia, salmon, chicken, and steak.

Rubio’s is always a go-​to place for me that doesn’t fail to please my stomach. I love when they have langostino seasonal items and my favorites are their quesadillas and enchiladas with langostino in them! I also have tried their costal trio plate and also enjoyed that as well. A good selection to choose from aside from the beer battered fish tacos on Tuesday evenings!
