Came here today to use my Phantom Gourmet gift card. Definitely worth the ride to Walpole. I always appreciate cooks who when you say«cooked medium», know exactly what that is. Our waitress was great and can make a perfect Bailey’s and Coffee.

This is my favorite place to grab a beer and wings after a long day to watch the Bruins or Pats. Great staff and relaxed feel. There always seems to be something happening on the stage with bands and trivia headlining for them. Different beers rotating on tap as well. Only reason not 5 stars is they took away the fish tacos app. Now they offer it as a meal with one less taco and rice as a side for more money. Bring back the app guys!

Will preface this review and say this is regarding my most recent visit. Usually this place isn’t bad. I hadn’t been here in quite a while. Went in this Sunday for a quick bite after shopping. Sat at the bar and the Pats game was BLARING, legit BLARING over the speakers. You’d thing their target demographic was a bunch of 95 yo’s who were near deaf. I ordered a Cobb salad from the nice bartender with multiple face piercings. It was yummy but immediately evident they forgot the bacon. I mean, that’s the best part! Didn’t bother to bring it up because I didn’t feel like screaming at the top of my lungs over the game. So I continued to eat while my ears rang. It wasn’t until the LAST bite I noticed two, not one, but TWO big black curly hairs on my chicken. VOMIT! Yuk! Aren’t hairnets mandatory? Needless to say, I will not be eating here again.

Came here because my friend loves that they have a variety of gluten-free apps and main courses. As usual, I checked Unilocaled before I agreed on the place. I wasn’t impressed with any of the pictures posted nor was I convinced by any of the reviews. Yet, I still came because I can’t miss out an opportunity to hang out with friends I haven’t seen in months! Anyway. I didn’t see anything from previous Unilocal pictures or any reviews that made me want to specifically order but thought ‘hey, they have a burger, you can’t go wrong with a burger.’ Omg I was so wrong. Not only was the burger dry(I ordered it medium) it was alright and the waitress didn’t add any of the toppings I asked for(I ordered lettuce, tomato, extra mayo, and extra cheese with a fried egg on top. I asked if they do thar since I am aware not all places would do that. She replied ‘yeah of course!’… but nope I did not get anything but the cheese. I would’ve definitely been happier with a greasy 5 guys burger! I almost felt bad asking her to at least get me mayo and lettuce. She apologized and said she didn’t hear me. Lie! I saw you writting something down. What was it? It was a burger with a slice of cheddar and a slice of american. and the cheese wasn’t fully melted… the corners of both slices were still stiff — wth! I was given a naked cheeseburger. Idk I haven’t been so much into being confrontational with waitresses and managers lately about my food as I used to be. Maybe I mellowed out. So I just ate a few bites and took the rest home. Not planning to eat it. Btw the young waitress seemed like she was annoyed. Mehhh. I wouldnt want to go back. I hope my stomach is ok for the rest of tonight. Kinda worried now just thinking about that cheese… Forgettable food. Server needs to listen a little better.

Nice atmosphere, good size TVs, friendly servers. Food here always hits the mark. Been to this location a few times before a Pats game or concert — nice spot.

Never had a bad experience here the various times I have gone yet it has also never blown me away. Decent food, good service and okay drinks. When I have been on live karaōke nights the entertainment is great as well. Not anymore then three stars thought because it is just generic and I have never been wowed. It is a good spot to check out every now and then, but not a must go to for me.

Usually a fan but tonight must have been an off night, service was slow and the place was not that busy, a lot of workers just hanging at the corner of the bar. Ordered a veggie pizza, overcooked and took an extra 10 minutes before I could get the attention of a waiter to bring us plates. Veggies called for roasted red peppers, delivered with red peppers, when I asked the waiter he stated they are red peppers roasted in the oven Enough said– like I said must have been an off night And don’t sit at the booth by the kitchen. The door is constantly hitting the back of the booth.

Visited on a Saturday night and the service was lacking! Had to flag down the waitress tending other tables. When our waitress finally came to our table, it wasn’t with an apology or smile. Pure attitude. The saving grace was the great cocktails and beer selection. Food was traditional pub fare. Nothing to write home about. The menu after 10pm is different from their regular menu — limited to apps and pizza.

Average pub style bar and restaurant not much else to say. Wood décor does remind me of a classic English or Irish pub. The food was what I would expect from such an establishment. Nothing exceptional, nothing bad.

Great(inc. American!) beer. Awesome food. Incredibly accommodating service. I arrived after lunch, wanting to work from the patio out front — even though I was the only patron there. My server was so incredibly accommodating — regularly checking up on me, improvising an ash tray and checking up on me frequently, but not too frequently to be annoying. As a Brit, I would highly recommend the sausage rolls, fish and chips, bangers and mash and curry chips. Also their beer selection is awesome. In terms of range an quality, it easily exceeds the standard beer selection at a regular British Pub. I think I found my new local.

Always fun. Pretty decent craft beer selection and are always open for suggestions. The staff is friendly and the food is pretty good for a pub. Sit at the bar and let Scottie or Heather(or both) pour you a beer from the tap or serve you a bottle from one of the many craft beers they have in bottle. Order some apps or the steak and ale pie, which is top notch, and enjoy. Best time to go to the BBC is during the fall. Great selection of fall beers, includng Pumking and that, if you like that crap from Shipyard, they will have that for you. When youre in there, say hi to me. I will be the drunk at the bar with the smile on my face.

Overall great time here. The beer menu was great with many choices from stouts to IPA and I was happy to be able to try a few I had never heard of. The bar tenders were awesome and very friendly(Scott and Heather) and prompt. Fiancée and I had the coconut shrimp which was done very well with a yummy dipping sauce. We split the Pulled pork sandwhich and the steak tip salad. The pork had great flavor and was topped with a yummy apple slaw with a nice soft roll. Perfect size to split. Great fries as well with just enough crunch and not greasy at all. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was seasoned well. Salad was a nice mixed greens and was the perfect potion size as well. And THEN… Sticky toffee pudding !!! Yummy! Everything was very good and we will certainly be back for more!

The beer and music on a Sunday were great but everything else was lacking. They brag about their Bloody Mary’s but mine was about the worst I’ve ever had. My husband had the mahi mahi and it was cooked well but arrived unseasoned. My fish and chips were so sad — the fries are just like the frozen kind I make at home and the batter on the fish was crunchy enough to chip a tooth. When I asked my waitress for some hot sauce to perk up my Bloody Mary she should have responded by offering that the bartender remake it. When it was time to leave the manager asked if everything was terrific and I said, «No, it was pretty bad» but that was the end of that conversation. I was even more shocked when the change arrived. I was due $ 40.13 but the waitress only brought me the $ 40. Go for beer and music — skip the rest.

UPDATE: placed another order for pick up tonight(business travel sometimes doesn’t afford much time out of the hotel room) which included their Chocolate Decadence dessert topped with vanilla ice cream. Realized after getting back to hotel that they forgot to include the ice cream. Called the restaurant — spoke with John the manager — and BOOM — he PERSONALLY delivered my forgotten ice cream within ten minutes! I have not had that high level of service and dedication to their business in a long LONG time. Kudos for your genuine concern and care for your customers! That simple act has garnered BBC huge respect from this customer and if I could, you’d be receiving 6 stars. As an aside, the bourbon tip steak salad was spectacular. Steak cooked exactly as I requested(med rare) and carefully packaged separately from salad as not to wilt the lettuce. Bravo :)

Always a good time and meal. Great apps and comfort food. Great B-tenders and servers. Upstairs is great for groups. Beer galore and even have soda(assume that is good– never had one). Come on down!

I’m a big fan of BBC Walpole for good eats and drinks! I have been coming to this location for several years now and especially enjoy the selection of drinks. They have all the standards, but also a bunch of interesting draft beers. The food is also very good and several items are British, such as the pasty. For apps, I love their French onion soup, and their hummus is awesome. It comes with warm pita wedges and tons of tortilla chips. For meals, I usually have the avocado chicken bap or the French dip. The lettuce wraps are also really good and there are a ton of other good choices. I have also had a work party here in their side room, which was perfect for a small group. I called ahead to reserve it very easily. Service is hit or miss, as there is a waitress that I now request not to have after her rude behavior. I feel bad saying that, but have given her many chances over the years and just can’t do it anymore. It’s the perfect spot for after-work drinks and a snack, or great for lunch or dinner.

2.5 stars, but saying two since Meh fits better than A-OK. So, I’ve been going to BBC in various places for years, and I don’t know if quality has dropped or we are just on a string of bad luck or what, but service is getting downright terrible. Food is still good though. After going for a hike at the local Audubon, my wife, friends, and I came here. There were six adults, and a 10-month old. Seating was fairly easy as we had our own room off to the right. The problems began when we were ordering. Everyone else ordered fairly simple meals, like pizza, beer, or a burger. My friend ordered a chocolate milk, and before even asking my wife what she wanted, the waitress(Vi) took off. I had to call her back 3x just to get my wife her chocolate milk. I got my typical«gluten-free burger with lettuce/tomatoes/onions/mayo and jalapenos on it, dry-bun, no cheese; dairy allergy.» All in all, not too complicated. Only things to remember beyond gluten-free are dry bun and to put jalapenos on it. She then asked me if I wanted cheese on my gluten-free, dairy-free burger. When the order came out, it was missing jalapenos and mayonnaise. I asked about this, and she brought out a cup of jalapenos. Then I asked again for the mayo, and she told me that no, I don’t want mayo since it’s made from milk. Hint: it’s not. I overruled her complaints and got it, and ate my burger. At the end of the meal, we were figuring out tips and such. I was inclined towards a low tip for my 1⁄3 of the meal since I was severely disappointed, and my friends were tipping better since their meals were better. After I started to write the tip for my credit card, the waitress came over, and I put my arm over the tip as a «I’m still working on this» sort of way, and she literally moved my arm to take the receipt out from under it. Short story, food/drinks at BBC is just as good as it ever way, but the servers are absolutely terrible.

I have some mixed feelings about this place. Generally the food is very good, but we’ve had mixed experiences with the service and the overall vibe/atmosphere of the place. As for the food, I highly recommend the hummus appetizer. The mussels are a little disappointing– the sauce is not that flavorful. For entrees, I adore the cod rarebit and the salmon with chili sauce. Pretty much every fish dish I’ve had here has been great. The mashed potatoes are also really good, although the veggies can be mediocre at times. I’ve had some really horrible service, including some super young kid who kept calling us «guys». However, there is a super cute older waitress here who is so nice and makes great recommendations(like the hummus appetizer). Now, with the word«beer» clearly in the name of this restaurant, you’d think it would be a pub style atmosphere filled with adults drinking. Well, no, not always. While the beer selection is awesome and changes frequently, we often come in to find ourselves seated around babies and toddlers. I would not think this place is that family friendly, but apparently, a lot of people in the area do. Kind of detracts from the pub experience. Maybe we just need to come later at night? They have a cool outdoor patio, which is fun in the summer.

I love, love, LOVE British Beer Company. Came in last night after a 10 hour train ride from DC, and was exhausted and hungry at 1130 pm. The closest place that didn’t close at midnight was here, and I was very happy that a restaurant I love was open. Drove there, grabbed a menu, and sat at the bar for a few minutes before the bartender informed me they are open until 1 but their kitchen closes at 10. Seriously? I could have gotten to another restaurant that actually had food in the time it took me to get there. Very displeased. The bartender was not rude about it at all but they should advertise that tyou can’t get food after 10.

3.5 stars. did a call-ahead since we had party of 9; hostess said wouldn’t be a problem but as we arrived, were told that only available seating was high tables. Hub neglected to mention there were 3 kids in the group including a 2yo so we couldn’t take the high seats. Were offered outdoor seating which we accepted, only to find the«booth» not entirely safe for kids either — they could easily climb and flip over the edge and perform a 5-foot free fall. imagine the stress from all of us watching and warning the 2yo the entire meal. not the restaurant fault, but it made our dining experience just a bit less enjoyable. other than that, the meal went fine. Waitress with the dyed red hair was very attentive despite being busy; came back many times to check on us and asked if we needed anything else. food came timely and were decent, though remember the GF chicken quesadilla appetizer being a little bigger in portion in the past… still good though with the slightly crunchy wrap and flavorful filings. hub got the GFBBQ chicken pizza which is on par with other times. i tried the cod rarebit(new item?) that had a thing of «alcohol-infused pastry wrap» on top, served with green beans in pesto and white cheddar mash… the mash was just a tad dry but the cheese came through. slightly a larger scoop to fill the plate but next time i might ask them if I could just get a bit more green beans instead… in all a decent dish. another attentive waitress to redeem the place! please keep up the good work!
