Food was pretty good, not excellent. Front desk was cold and unwelcoming. Service was spotty at best. Nice diverse menu, but very boring desert menu. Plus the place is unbelievably LOUD. There is nothing anywhere(floor, walls, ceiling) to capture the sound so it feels like you are sitting in a giant drum and the sound reverberates. Our waiter disappeared for long periods of time and the check ins were way too infrequent. Probably won’t try it again. Simple things make a difference mr Owner: Just say good night and Thank You for Coming and smile. Would go a long way but I saw the owner and he had a scowl on his face which is probably why everyone else wasn’t very pleasant… A fish rots from the head down… oh, and despite the many pics posted on here we had to ask for bread and it came in he middle of the meal. Oh, and no water refills. Have no idea what some of these other reviewers experienced. Oh, and the Caesar salad needed salt which we had to ask for– no salt on the table. I changed my mind from three to two stars. There are a lot of other places to spend $ 260 for 4 people that are way better.

Biagio Ristorante — Waltham, MA — 9÷10÷2015 Beautifuuly decorated… Brick walls with paintings and formal drapes purposely hung… Trey ceilings with ornate lighting hung thruout. A beautiful stairwell to the right as you walk in with beautiful stonework… Further past on the right a large wooden bar with a large television center mounted… The music of Sara Renner tastefully thumps from the bar area… It is an absolutely perfect accompaniment to the setting… This is a family establishment and they make everything in house… It is apparent they take great pride in what they do… Before the first dish even comes out you sense that this will be an extraordinary dining experience… The kind you look forward to… At my server Raphael’s suggestion, tonights feast features… Eggplant Bracciolettini to start… Eggplant… Ricotta Cheese with Marinara Sauce… Served like a Rollatini and really really good! Followed up with Native Blackened Swordfish… Wild Nova Scotia Swordfish served with Sautéed Spinach, Corn Salsa and topped with Crispy Leeks… When it comes out, you just need to sit back and appreciate what went into the preparation… It looks like a modern food sculpture that I almost feel guilty carving up… Almost because at this point with the aroma coming off the dish I can wait no longer… At this point my taste buds are in a state of euphoria! The dessert will be a tough choice… It’s between the Tiramisu and the Cannollis… I went with the Tiramisu… Absolutely amazing!!! Beautifully plated, each forkfull just melts in your mouth… I can’t say enough about this place… An upscale setting… Wonderful array of dishes on the menu… Super friendly staff … Exquisite plating… This place will satisfy the most discerning fine diner… Highly recommended!

Had dinner here a few weeks back. Made a reservation for 7:30 and table was ready when I arrived. Our waitress was very friendly, helpful and attentive. The restaurant is nicely furnished and has a classy, upscale look to it. Prices are a little on the high side for what you get in terms of meals and apps. Food and drinks were average. I have a rule that if I can cook it better myself, I won’t order it again. I had the seafood marinara over linguine which was good, but not great. The sauce had no flavor. Neither did the bread. Cocktails were either too sweet or too sour. They have an upstairs lounge and an outdoor patio. That night they had an Elvis tribute artist performing, Mike Slater, and he was great! We really enjoyed his show and he is one of the better Elvis tribute artists. In fact, it was hanging around for his performance that really salvaged the night after a mediocre meal. Nice place, I might give it another try and order something different next time.

The food at the Biagio is very good, but I had a terrible experience on the patio the other night. The tables were strewn about, the whole place was messy looking, and the waitresses, two grown women, were acting like teenagers dying to get out of work early. It was really pathetic, especially for an otherwise wonderful restaurant.

If you like to have high expectations for a restaurant and then be drastically disappointed, I would suggest coming here. I live and work in Waltham. I always pass this place and it looks very nice. So for my 25th birthday this year, I decided to try Biagio’s. Knowing I had a group of 5 – 10 coming for drinks and apps and seeing online they had a lounge area, I decided to call and make a reservation. I got in touch with a call service that takes all calls and reservations before 4pm and had her leave a note on my reservation to request the lounge and for someone to call me back. This way, I could make sure this was the right atmosphere for what I was looking for. The next day the gentleman I spoke to was very nice. He said the lounge was perfect for what I was looking for and that he’d let the bartender know we were coming. He said«Thank you for celebrating your birthday here, we’re going to take great care of you!» After that call, I was so excited to go! Little did I know how disappointing it would be. We got there at 7:00, the time of my reservation, on a Saturday night. There was three of us the start, the rest to arrive around 7:30. I walked up to the host desk and gave my name, which they didn’t have and didn’t put in again. They asked about how many people, I explained again what I was looking for, and was again directed to the lounge. The gentleman smiled, shook my hand, and gestured us upstairs to the lounge. We walked upstairs into the lounge and sat at a sort of curved booth table that was large enough to fit everyone once they got there. There was no music and the lights were extremely dim for it still being daylight outside. I watched a server pass a couple times, saw the bartender pass a few times, and after 20 minutes of being ignored(and I mean absolutely no one talking to us or evening looking), decided to ask someone what the problem was. I spoke to a backwaiter and asked if we were sitting in the wrong place, as I’d never been there before and said that no one had come up. He assured me we were in the right place and said he’d send someone over right away. The music came on, the lights got a little brighter. I sat down and waited another 5 minutes before beginning to get my stuff together. As I was about to leave the bartender approached and apologized for the wait, to which I said we were just leaving. She asked that we stay and took our drink orders. We decided to give it a shot. Another server came up to the table and said«Hi, are you expecting more in your party this evening?» This upset me because I have now explained to 3 different people what could have been explained with 1 reservation. After telling the server the deal, I didn’t see her again. I would like to say that despite the slow and inaccurate service I received all night, the bartender was literally trying to be as nice as possible. I did get to munch on some truffle fries and some Rhode Thailand Calamari. The fries were crisp, hot, and fresh. The calamari had great flavor, sweet and spicy. The coating easily fell off and they weren’t crisp and hot, but perhaps they were just over sauced(but the sauce is delicious, so fine by me!). All the food(except a salad) came in a fine amount of time. But ten minutes for a cranberry juice? An extra dirty vodka martini with extra olives came over crystal clear with no olives. We sent a salad back twice(first it was the wrong salad, then the wrong cheese on the salad) and then canceled it because we wanted to just leave. It even took forever to get the check. No manager ever came over and no one said a word to me when I was leaving. I’m not sure if it’s my age or the amount of money they wanted me to spend, but I wouldn’t put another dime near this place. There are plenty of other nice places on Moody Street.

I give this 2.5 stars. Service was average. Food was okay but not worth the price. Caprese app was good. The ravioli I had was decent. But my friend had the scallops with chocolate risotto and asparagus. They were small and didn’t look too appealing. Should have been better for $ 27.00. I probably won’t return.

Being new to the area, we made reservations for a birthday dinner to try it out. It was understandably quiet since it was a Monday night, but everything from our greeting when we walked in, the amazing service from our waiter and the great food(wild mushroom risotto and a seafood stew in a fra diavlo base) guarantees we’ll be back. It was so nice to find a great date night spot that was within walking distance!

The main bar at Biagio’s(first floor) is one of my favorite hang outs for a nice night of dinner and drinks. The bar is huge with granite/marble counters, plush padded high seats, plenty of space and purse hooks. The bar also offers one large TV in the center of the bar so that all patrons can see it. Biagio’s makes a great cocktail, has a wonderful list of beers and has an extensive wine list. I would say that the prices are very reasonable for bottles and glasses of wine. Some of my favorite items off of the menu in terms of food are: Arancini(very good here!), Mini Beef Wellington, Toasted Ravioli’s, Margherita Pizza, Chicken Parmesan and Pollo Saltimbocca(a little salty for my taste but still good). The bar staff is excellent and very attentive, they are always moving around helping someone or chopping up fruit for the bar. Note: There is no veal at Biagio, which I find to be odd at an Italian restaurant. The bartender said they do have veal«sometimes» for specials, but not often.

No one here for lunch. Surprised to see no one in the dining room for lunch. Just me and one other at the bar. They had their dinner menu for lunch… Maybe that’s the problem. I went with the eggplant app and a beet salad. Beet salad was ok… Didn’t really like the dressing. Eggplant app was delicious.

We went on Saturday night, after struggling to find parking and missing a 7:20 movie. That was a bummer, but I’m not reviewing Waltham… so onward We had a pretty friendly and warm reception when we arrived. We were offered a seat in the bar area while we waited for a table. Everyone was really friendly. We had the eggplant bracciolettini, which we both really enjoyed. I got the lobster ravioli, which was tasty, well-priced, and definitely made in house. Our server was polite and friendly, but a little slow /inattentive(taking forever to get check, etc). I’m also pretty sure he served me regular instead of decaf. My main complaint, however, is the bar. My moscow mule was made with Rose’s Lime. I’ve never been to a restaurant with $ 40 steaks that would stoop to that level in the cocktail department. And it wasn’t just some cocktail I pulled out of a hat. It was on their limited cocktail menu(where«lime juice» was indicated as the ingredient). Also, my bf’s dark and stormy was completely mixed with no garnishes or suitable presentation. For the owners: INVEST in your bar. The profit margins on booze are SO high. Switching out real lime juice for rose’s lime is SO simple and will get people buying cocktail after cocktail. Take an early Saturday morning, schedule a training meeting, and elevate your cocktail game. It is easy and inexpensive to do so. You’d gain customers like me, who very often come in, post up at the bar, and do nothing but order small bites and drinks for hours. You have the space and the potential, so use it.

Honestly the food was only ok and this place was supposed to be really good but don’t waste your time it was mediocre at best but if that won’t stop you every 15 minutes you can feel the train go by while everything is shaking in the restaurant

The waiter spilled red wine all over my sister-in-law’s silk dress and white cardigan and did not offer any sorts of compensation. They are both ruined. We went in for dinner at 7pm, and were not served entrees until 9:45pm. I would never recommend this place.

I had driven by this place dozens of times but never been in. Last week my girlfriend and I decided to stop in for dinner hoping to sit on the patio. When I called to ask for a reservation on their patio, they said it wasn’t open. This struck me as odd since it was late April and had been in the 60’s all day. Too bad though. We were seated in the main dining room, the décor was very nice and the place had a classy feel to it for the reasonable prices. The food was nothing special though. I had a chicken parm plate and it was nothing different than I’ve had at most Italian places. My girlfriend had the rizzoto which she was a little disappointed with, it wasn’t as creamy as she had hoped. I would consider coming back here for the patio but not for their food, Fiorella’s a is a much better bet and only a five minute drive away.

I enjoyed a delicious lunch at Biagio today. My friend had the Sea Scollops over risotto and I had the Lobster Ravioli which was stuffed with succulent lobster and came with tail and claw. The vodka sauce was heavenly. They have an expansive wine selection as well as mixed drinks, private dining rooms, and professional yet friendly staff. I highly recommend Biagio for lunch and dinner. The owner, Joey, seated me, was kind, very courteous and welcoming. I’m looking forward to my next visit.

Came here for dinner on a weeknight, so the restaurant wasn’t too busy. The restaurant was spacious and had a nice ambiance and décor. Our table shared a plate of Calamari tossed in a sweet thai chili sauce. The calamari wasn’t crispy but the flavors were good. I ordered the Fig, Mascarpone, and Walnut Ravioli. It’s definitely a unique dish and good for those who prefer a taste of sweetness to their entrees. After a few bites, I got tired of the dish. I was expecting a nice blend of sweet and savory flavors, but overall the dish was too sweet for me. The ravioli were also drowning in the heavy sauce. Service was not good here. The staff was friendly enough, but no one really stopped by except to take our orders and serve our dishes. Not a single glass of water was refilled and there was usually no waiter to flag down. Free parking is available in the lot behind the restaurant. I would suggest trying out other Italian restaurants in the area before going to this place.

Came here on a Friday night and the place was pretty much packed. We had a table reservation so we got seated right away by our waiter(by the way he had an Italian accent which I thought was pretty cool). As soon as we got seated, waters came as well as bread with hummus and garlic infused olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Both were delicious to dip the bread in. I specially liked the roasted garlic that came with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. For appetizer I ordered the pear and gorgonzola salad. The grilled pear was really sweet and delicious. It was well balanced with the fresh salad, crunchy candied walnuts, sweet cranberries, and creamy cheese. It was delicious. For entrée I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. This was just okay. Nothing really special. The portion was size okay. The meatballs were juicy and delicious and the pasta was well cooked. I also ordered a sangria. This sangria was one of the best I’ve ever had! Definitely a must try! Overall, good food and excellent service. Waiters kept checking up on us very often and was really friendly.
