I usually like to get a design or something added to spice up my manicure, even a solid accent nail, but unfortunately this place failed not once but twice for a «regular» old gel mani. The first time I went in the woman was gruff and kept yanking my fingers. She herself was pleasant enough but basically got the top coat all over the skin and cuticle– reasons(I thought) two days later the gel was already lifting and getting stuck on everything. I went back to have them fixed and this time was the same exact thing even though I was sure to go to a different person. The paint job itself is just sloppy and already lifting. On top of it a lecture about the oils on my nails? I don’t know how that’s possible when they don’t use oil/lotion or any frill whatsoever but douse your fingers in acetone til they’re white. Definitely won’t be returning.

Don’t bother! I was on my way to my normal nail salon for a pedi when I noticed this place. I was in a rush so I decided to give it a try. OMG… I opened the door and the heat must have been set at around 80 degrees. They sat me in a pedicure chair and began immediately(no soaking), and then realized the machine was broken(and dirty), so they moved me to a different chair. The woman did not cut my cuticles until I asked, and then she only did a few toes. There was no massage, the nails were filed crooked, and the polish was not great. I was very upset that I even tried this place, and was worried about the lack of cleanliness. I DONOT recommend this salon, I suggest finding a place that sanitizes their equipment and their pedicure tubs. Yuck!

I’m giving two stars because the lady actually did a decent job of painting my nails, but that’s it! Otherwise they’re uneven, cut way too short, not smooth at all at the edges, and if she would look away from the tv screen long enough she would’ve realized that she had left a hang nail on every single cuticle. Also, no massaging of the legs or arms. She constantly kept yanking my arm and telling me my wrist was too tight! What the hell woman lean closer and pay attention instead of watching tv! I personally don’t care too much about how outdated everything looks but at this place it’s pretty darn outdated. To make matters worse, the other lady who I think was the owner was laying down on the couch, and would only get up to answer the phone. When I was waiting for my nails to dry at the UV dryer(which wasn’t even on btw) this woman, the OWNER, burped out loud! Very professional… I’m not coming back here…

I can’t believe I have to even give one start to these people. I went in for the first time this afternoon. They are right down the street from me and I didn’t feel like driving to Woburn to the salon I usually visit(surprisingly, the same name). When I walked in, there was no one there, which was great so I didn’t have to wait. Well seconds later, the technician brought over the tiniest bowl and filled it with acetone and asked me to put my fingers in it. like submerge them. I had a previous gel manicure on and I know you need to soak them in acetone to get it off, but I’ve never had my entire finger tip submerged! All other salons I’ve visited(from dingy gross ones to high end) have put the acetone on cotton and wrapped each finger in foil to concentrate the stuff on the nail. The bowl was so tiny, I got cramps in my wrists trying to keep all the nails covered by the solution. Then my nails were awkwardly taken out one by one to scrape off the old polish. After that, she started filing. She didn’t ask me if I wanted rounded or square nails, she just went at it. I assumed that she could tell from my nails that I wanted rounded. they were VERY round already. Nope, she just filed them straight across. Horrified by it was too late to go back. Then she make a crass remark about how short my nails were(only 2 that had broken were short!) that made me feel yucky. THEN she started with the polish after a half ass cuticle job. She got the base coat and color all over my skin and the edges were completely uneven. Some of the nails, she started the polish so high up, it looked like I’d gotten the manicure weeks prior even though I was STILLACTUALLYGETTINGIT. Awful. AWFULAWFUL. On top of that, she applied the color so thick but still ended up with uneven coverage! I couldn’t tell how bad the actual manicure was at the time since it was dark in there, but after my nails were done curing, I expected some cuticle oil and lotion applications since, you know. IT’S A MANICURE. and you already soaked my fingers in an extremely drying solution for upwards of 7 minutes. My skin was white it was so dry. But she just tapped my hand and said«done». I was so flabbergasted that I couldn’t even mutter any words. I paid my $ 25 and gave $ 2 tip(very low for what I usual give) and left. When I got home, my husband took one look at them and said«you have to go back». So I did. Walked in and told them how dissatisfied I was with it. The manicure was obviously bad, but both technicians just stared at it for a good 2 minutes like they were trying to see what was wrong. And then had the audacity to tell me that it was because the color I picked was a thick product. UMTHATDOESN’T EXCUSE1) why my nails were soaked in a toxin 2) filed in the incorrect shape 3) all over my skin 4) poorly applied against my cuticles. I told them as much and they soaked my nails in another bowl of acetone to get it off, continually telling me that they’d paint a different color for me. Um no. I just wanted to leave at that point. My nails are probably destroyed for the next few weeks until they grow in. THANKS. I’m a former nail biter and gel manicures are the only thing that have stopped me from biting but I’m afraid to apply another one for a while since my nails now feel so brittle. They did give me $ 10 of my $ 25 back, which surprised me. But I think they should have given me the whole $ 25! Now I know why I drive 25 minutes out of my way for my usual salon(Glamour Nails on Winn St in Burlington! 5 stars from me!!!) and tip between $ 7 – 10 on a $ 25 service. I’ll never make this mistake again!

I love Glamour nails. I have been going there for years. They do a great job on my pedicures and the price can’t be beat.

I love getting my nails done(I am from New Jersey after all) and have unwarranted but impossibly high standards for nail salons. That being said… I like… that they are very flexible and willing to fit you in, no matter what time or how busy they are. I also like that that do a quality job and the manicure lasts for more than a week. Their tips also look fantastic. I also like the reasonable prices and convenient location. What I don’t like… well, to be honest, I am not sure how sanitary Glamour Nails is. During my pedicure the technician finished with the buffing bad, rinsed it under some water and stored it back in her tool kit. I also did not spot one sanitation machine or jar filled with sanitizing fluid. After my pedicure they rinsed out the bowl with Fantastic and water to get it ready for the next person. My dear friend Meagan N. is an excellent Unilocaler but I have to disagree with her on this one… not too sure I will return. End Note: After posting this review Meagan N. brought it to my attention that it was unfair of me to judge her credibility as a Unilocaler, as she has never had a pedi at Glamour Nails. Sincere apologies.
