I have visited Dr. Macafee many times over the years. About eight years ago, he put in an implant that another doctor had said was impossible. The implant has been very successful. A few years later, removed a bone graft(put in by a different dentist) that had failed twice before and put in a successful graft. He performed apical surgery on me. Recently, I had a tooth removed; it had a cracked root and I was worried about the procedure. It went smoothly and the next day I didn’t even need any painkiller. I have unfortunate teeth, and have seen many dentists over the years. I cherish the good ones, and Dr. Macafee is among them. He and his staff are pleasant, professional, kind, and thorough. I always receive written post-op instructions, and I am always urged to call if there are any problems. In nearly a decade, I have never had to call.

Totally unprofessional and rude. Left the patient without any explanation, admit that the patient was a bit fearful of the needle. No effort was made to reassure the 19 year old who needed a wisdom tooth pulled. She left the place in unbearable pain and had to find an alternative dentist. This person is being reported to the Dental association. Hopefully he will be reprimanded or charged with unprofessional conduct.

After a poor experience at Dr. Fine’s office in Brookline, I visited Dr. McAfee’s office for a second opinion on my wisdom teeth. I was very satisfied with the entire experience, from the time I walked in to the time I left. I highly recommend Dr. McAfee.

I was recently referred to see Doctor Mcafee II for some dental surgery(a tooth extraction) by my dentist’s office, Failla & DeFrancesco Family Dentistry, which is literally two doors down from this office. Upon arriving for the consultation, I was greeted by a very courteous, professional and friendly staff and was able to get something setup. A few days later, upon my return, the final verdict was in: I’d have to return in 5 days for a wisdom tooth extraction. Dr. Macafee II took his time to give me all of the necessary information, was very clear and even gave me various options for the anesthesia. I selected to get the IV and arrangements were made. I left the consultation was given a set of clear instructions, waited for the appointment and came back for it with my wife who was going to serve as my designated driver. Despite my very high levels of anxiety(I don’t do well with needles, blood and surgery — but then again, who does?) the staff was able to get me to relax a bit, the IV was inserted and… *blur*. I don’t remember a thing and woke up about 30 minutes later with some gauze in my mouth and walked to the recovery room where I got to hang out for about 10 more minutes before being discharged. All in all, the experience was as good as it gets. I was given a bag with some extra gauze and some post-surgical instructions and a card to call if any further questions were to be had. Oh and I got to keep the damn tooth too.
