Try their Rum Raisin ice cream in their section of ice cream for adults. Great ice cream, and their cones are huge even with just one scoop!:

I have been here a few times, and every time I go I always think it will be much better than it actually is. If you have a sweet craving and your options are limited, then this would not be a bad place to go. However, it should be noted that 3 out of the 5 times that I have visited, the ice cream had freezer burn on and masked a lot of the flavor of the ice cream. Also, the staff is hit or miss. Sometimes they are extreme friendly and helpful-and other times they are mute and look like workers on an assembly line.

Can you name an institution that is more classically Waltham than Lizzy’s? Nope. The ice cream is all home made and all delicious. The people are friendly. There’s a great selection and the place kinda feels like home. Be prepared for long lines in the summer as this place gets packed. Only one criticism — stay away from the mad dog mango flavor — it’s super spicy and it’s super gross. Sorry Lizzy’s… Everything else is amazing!

Some of the best ice cream in the area. Definitely a place to go after dinner on Moody St. They have creative and interesting flavors in addition to the standards, and all of them are delicious. They also have some frozen yogurt and dairy free options, which is nice. The mocha lace and Charles River Crunch are two of my favorites.

I bet everyone’s thought after dinner on Moody Street is «Should we get dessert here or go to Lizzy’s?» Last night we opted for the latter and were happy with our choice! I got 2 scoops — one Chocolate Orgy, one Mocha Lace — both so rich and chocolaty. My mom also got 2 scoops — one Banana and one Black Raspberry. You guessed it — both were f’ing delicious. We almost regretted our choice when we saw the line out the door but it moved very quickly and although they were busy there were plenty of seats. Our total came to $ 10 and change which I believe is average. Service was quick and friendly — will be back before the Summer is over!

I went here a few years ago just after I became lactose intolerant. I mentioned that I was very lactose intolerant, and the employee did a few basic things like wash the spoon and make sure the ice cream I was getting did not have dairy added. However, I got extremely sick. I called in and complained to the manager, who said the employee reported washing the spoon, and that they throughly wash their equipment between dairy and non-dairy. At the time I did not realize that they needed to wash the spoon more carefully, and that the ice cream could not be made on the same equipment as dairy if I was to not get sick. Since then, the law has changed. I am not sure how good they are with allergies nowadays. What’s really not acceptable is that the manager did not know this and did not call me back after she said she would. The ice cream did taste good, though.

The place was pretty busy for around 7 – 7:30PM on a Thursday. I tried the Chocolate Orgy but it was definitely too rich for me, so I went with Chocolate Cookie Dough(!!). I was so psyched to see a place that offered cookie dough with a chocolate base! Definitely a few stars for being the first ice cream place I’ve encountered to offer that flavor. Sadly, it didn’t live up to the hype… the ice cream had a lot of freezer burn, and I hate to admit it but the chocolate kind of obscured the cookie dough flavor(probably why it’s not that popular). Because of the freezer burn I couldn’t tell if I actually liked the ice cream that much, although the cookie dough was good quality. I wish that it featured actual chocolate chips/chunks instead of the micro-mini chocolate chips that it has, but since it doesn’t claim to be «chocolate chip cookie dough,» I can’t be mad at it for that. I ordered a Kiddie size portion($ 3.61 with tax), which was fairly large. A small is truly massive – more like a medium at any other place. The place is clean and the staff are friendly, but I’ll have to keep searching for a better flavor(and hope its not freezer burned) or try one of the delicious-looking desserts or chocolates they sell!

Lizzy’s is a great post-dinner spot to wind down and enjoy some sugar. They have a wide array of flavor choices, cone choices, topping choices, and more-than-just-ice-cream choices. I was able to mix and match my flavors in my waffle cone, which was great to satisfy my sweet craving. We will definitely return!

A great local spot for some quality ice cream. My girlfriend and I both got the smallest«Kiddie» sizes and that was plenty for us. I got Mint Oreo and she got Cookie Dough. They were both stuffed with their respective stuff and were delicious! Definitely worth checking out in the downtown area.

They weren’t lying when they said that the ice cream was great here. Got the Charles River ice cream and chocolate cookie dough. I paid 4.75 for it thinking it was kinda expensive, but the scoops were HUGEEEEEE. The size was literally like a large. Something that is not often mentioned is the cake… I had the craving to try 3 of them the other day(in addition to the ice cream, yes i know…), and they arent bad! I was a very slow day so the cashier spent a lot of time explaining to me that their home-made cake is like a tradition Asian cake. It is very light and fluffy. I tried the coconut, coffee caramel, and chocolate; all flavors are distinctly different and delicious. The cakes that were not home-made were very rich. Although the cake was not bad, it was not the best I have had. In another words, just get what Lizzy’s is known for: ice cream. The cake really isn’t worth your money and taste buds.

If you have a craving for ice cream, Lizzy’s is where you want to go. They have over 30 homemade ice cream flavors to choose from. My favorite flavors are: peppermint stick, ginger, cake batter and chocolate orgy. One of my favorite flavor combos is a scoop of ginger and a scoop of chocolate, so good! If you have any questions or need suggestions the staff is really helpful and friendly. The space is packed in the warmer months, but the wait is quick. You can park on the street or go down Walnut st to park in the commuter lot. Note: If you can’t make it to the Moody st location, many other stores sell limited flavors of Lizzy’s ice cream including Russo’s!

Ive been coming here for the past ten years so it’s only right I give them a review! Delicious homemade ice cream on moody street in Waltham. Some of my favorite flavors are pb cup, Oreo, black cherry and rasp chip froyo. I recently got an ice cream cake from them for my boyfriend birthday that was delicious as well– Definitely check them out if you are in the area and craving some ice cream. The pb sauce and hot fudge also delicious! I deducted a star because prices are pretty steep–

Today, we had Lizzy’s cater a make your own sundae party for our office Holiday Luncheon. They did not disappoint. The whole process was seamless from when I filled out the online form, spoke to Liz on the phone to the ice cream being delivered by Liz promptly at the time discussed. They pay attention to the small details and everything was neatly packaged. Which brings us to the most important part. It was delicious! The ice cream, candy toppings and hot fudge/peanut butter toppings were perfect. My boss was very happy and is already planning on them coming back in for another meeting in a few months.

The most AMAZING ice cream In the world!!! Especially the cookie dough Ice cream, it is so amazingly good!!! It is probably the best in America. A New Yorker, I think this easily trumps the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory and Sprinkles. Though crowded I would wait for years to get the creamy, tasty and spectacular cookie dough ice cream. If you are in Massachusetts, no matter were, you need to come to Lizzie’s!!!

There are some unique flavors here which is always refreshing when it comes to a specialty/homemade ice cream store. Tried ginger, Columbian chocolate, & Bailey’s. All very true to their regular food taste, off that makes any sense. Bailey’s + chocolate =mudslide! Yum! Only thing is they’re so expensive! $ 4+ for a regular, yikes

Mmmmmm… Ice cream! Not a bad scoop shop in a great location. They serve everything you would expect they would; banana splits, sundaes, cones, coffee. Premium ice cream at a premium price. They also have limited flavors of Lizzy’s ice cream available at the Embassy Theater which is a plus.

Ever strolled by a Glacier and thought, «aw man, I just want a bite… just a bite!»((and then come away with a pint-sized sundae))? Lizzy’s has you covered((on both fronts)) Locally-churned ice cream since 1995, with flavors that will have you lip-licking for life. You’ll have around 50 flavors to choose from, and over 10 ordering options(Tofutti, dairy-free, gluten-free, no-sugar, sherbet, cakes, pies, or even the«Grab ‘n Go Sundae Party Kits» …GENIUS!) I’ve even ordered a sundae for the road, complete with some items from their toppings bar, Lizzy’s homemade fudge sauce, whipped cream and a cherry(perfect when heading down to the rivers edge). Flavors: Apple Pie, Orange Pineapple, Coconut, Pumpkin Pie, Peach, White Pistachio, Peanut Butter Cup, Colombian Fudge Avalanche… I could go on. The shop on Moody is a great long hall of a space and is always a safe haven for us sweet tooths(cool in the summer, warm in the winter). The space is well-maintained(clean and well-lit) and is decorated with work from local artists. Down that hall and to the left is a delightful party space(perfect for turning 28, dontcha think?). *Back to that«single-lick» craving. Introducing: the Mini Cone. $ 2.10(10c…really?) and the PERFECT size of heaped up ice cream.

I have used Lizzy’s the past two years in a row to cater a coporate ice cream party of 500+ people and they are so dependable that I will be using them again this year. Their do-it-yourself sundae parties provide great sundae options at a reasonable price. Coordinating ice cream, dry toppings, wet toppings, etc. for 500+ people can be quite the feat, but Lizzy’s makes it easy. Everything has always been delivered on time, well packaged and well organized. They are also wonderful about picking up the empty containers on schedule the following day. Aside from the obvious logistical perks of ordering from Lizzy’s, their ice cream is fantastic! All of our staff love the do-it-yourself sundaes from Lizzy’s and it is voted as one of our favorite employee appreciation events each year. Highly recommend them for corporate catering!
