Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Parish

When my wife and I were dating we attended my nephews first communion ceremony here. My wife is not Catholic, but she really loved the Pastor Rev. James M. DiPerri down to earth style. He is a very engaging speaker.
Latter, on a road trip, she mentioned that if we were to ever get married, she wanted to have Rev. DiPerri as the officiant. Since I had the ring in my pocket at the time, I took it as a great sign.
Our Lady’s doesn’t do a lot of weddings, which is odd to me since it is such a beautiful church with an amazing group of people. I would highly recommend it.
Deacon Bob Johnson, who looks like Mickey Rooney, walked us through the entire process. He is a good man — funny — and very caring. My wife was slightly concerned that people at the church might have a problem since she isn’t Catholic and has never been baptized. Deacon Johnson put her mind at ease, told her no one was going to bother her about it, but also took the time to let her know about some classes and programs she could take if she were interested in becoming Catholic. He mentioned it once, clearly, and then let the subject rest. Deacon Johnson also helped us locate somewhere to take our Pre-​Cana classes.
The business office helped us locate our musical talent, which was fantastic. The staff kept us all on track, which was a miracle in it own right. Everyone made us feel very special and welcomed.
Overall — great experience.
