Me and my fiancé had been meaning to try this place forever since it is right down the street and finally made it there! One huge plus is there is outdoor seating and I cannot wait to go back on a nice day for lunch. We were seated very promptly and given chips and salsa right away to munch on. We both enjoyed our dishes very much and there was plenty of food! Its nice cause there are options for those who aren’t huge on Mexican or are trying to eat healthy(like me). The wait for food was reasonable. The server could have checked in more often, however, I totally understand because it was very busy. I will be going back for sure. I will say some of the appetizer dishes were high priced, but it seemed like it may have been fair for what you are getting(however I am unsure as we did not order any).

Contrary to its name this is a Tex mex restaurant not Italian… But it was somewhat disappointing and over priced. The combo fijitas of steak and shrimp was mediocre at best the shrimps were under sized … We traveled about a half hour from Jamaica Plains to Waltham and it definitely was NOT worth it.

Hands down the BEST nachos I’ve ever had. Huge portions, lots of flavor and a staff full of personality. Strongly recommend.

My son and I just enjoyed a hearty dinner at this reasonably priced Guatemalan/Mexican restaurant. He had Guatemalan churrasco which was served with black refried beans, rice and a salad of tomato, lettuce, pepper, onion, avocado and lime. I enjoyed enchiladas verdes but could only eat half because I was full from our appetizer of pupusca. Very pleasant service and relaxing atmosphere.

Great authentic Mexican and Guatemalan food. Bar is recently renovated and great place to catch a game especially Soccer. We love the Pollo Asado or Churrasco on the Guatemalan menu, had Sopo del Res today and was amazing. Homemade chips and salsa served for a free app. Staff here are great, always accommodating. It is family run — not a chain! If you don’t see it on the menu just ask. Small parking lot but you can park on the street. A must try!

I love Paisano Restaurant! Although I’ve only been here once, I can tell it’s going to be a new favorite. This little restaurant in Waltham has delicious food and amazing service. You might be a little turned off when you first get there(considering the restaurant isn’t exactly modern or well-decorated), but I promise you that it will be worth it if you stick it out. One thing that I(perhaps unfairly) always expect in a Mexican restaurant is chips & salsa. Not only does Paisano have chips & salsa, but they have very yummy chips & salsa!(Bonus: the salsa comes in a cute, little vase.) Being the weirdo that I am, I ordered a Veggie Enchilada Burrito($ 9.99) sans flour tortilla and sour cream. It was AMAZING! I dream about it all the time. The refried beans paired beautifully with the rice and sauteed onions and peppers. The pico de gallo was also perfectly seasoned. I also have to shout out our waiter Alicia who made sure our orders were exactly what we asked for and constantly checked on us. She was so, incredibly sweet! Definitely go try Paisano out!

PRO: –This place has a small parking lot! YES! –Food was so flavorful! –Great service! CONS: –Could really benefit from some renovating. This place is dated, and not in a good way. –Can’t put less than $ 10 on a card, so bring cash or go big! The starter chips were warm, crispy, and tasty. Salsa was meh. I ordered chicken Tacos Mexicanos($ 2.25 per taco) and was duped by the description of «two corn tortillas» — it doesn’t come with two tacos, just one taco encased in two tortillas. Is that typical? I didn’t see the point, and ended up with 2 uneaten tortillas after eating my tacos. Luckily, that was my only complaint for these petite lil tacos. The chicken was cut into very small pieces so it was easy to eat and seasoned to perfection. Toppings were simple cilantro and onion. They were delicious in their simplicity without the pico, lettuce, and all that jazz(if you want that, you can go with the tex-mex tacos for a little more money — $ 3/taco). I also ordered a side of guacamole($ 2.99), which was a good call. It was a decent sized bowl of guac and it was fresh, creamy, and flavorful. I also need to note that the service was awesome. Our server was incredibly polite, quick, and accommodating to my beautiful but sometimes challenging dining companion(«Can I have an enchilada but without the tortilla?») They brought out the«enchilada»(usually a 1-plate item) as a 3-plate«burrito bowl» with the sauce and beans separate. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience! I’m sure we’ll be back.

This place is rather garbage.(In my opinion) It also seems that there was a twist tie in my friends food and it took almost an hour and a half for out food to get to us. They also seemed rather hesitant to split the check. 1⁄5

If you like drunk, loud, violent customers who fight in the parking lot and park in the middle of the street and/or neighbor’s driveways, this place is for you. Food is bad, drinks are strong.

I regularly order large amounts of Papusas… Today I ordered a dozen of them for family and they gave me all cheese Papusas when I ordered pork and cheese. I called and talked to someone and they told me they will make them again… After waiting a half hour and then taking my food back they then told me they have a new cook and that’s how they’ll be from no on and either take it or leave it… So we got our money back and went to guanachapis down the road… Better quality and service

Dried-out tilapia, flavorless burrito, limp plantains, painfully slow service. Affordable prices save this review from being one star.

Cozy little place in Waltham. Loved the nachos and margaritas here. Strong margaritas and tasty nachos. The portions are pretty generous as well. The staff wasn’t around much but it’s understanble since it was pretty busy in there.

We’ve gone here many times and were very pleased. However this Saturday night we were totally ignored by the staff, we asked for drinks And never received even a glass of water. All the waitress and waiters walked by us and turned their backs on us, very upsetting. We will not be returning. We waited 30 minutes and left. Apparently we were invisibles to them.

I’ve been coming here for about two years since Sierra’s closed. I hate to write a review because I’m afraid if word gets out well have to wait in line and never get a table. But the staff is so great and food is so good I feel guilty for not checking in sooner. I like to try something new every time I come and have made it half way through the menu and have never been disappointed.

Been back a fee more times… Margaritas are still strong and the chips and salsa are good, but I’ve had a fee dishes that were just average. Stick to the staples; pastor taco plate, fajitas, quesadilla etc.

Definitely a fan of this place. Their drinks are strong, their appetizers are great and their carne asada is superb as well as the fajitas. If you want some authentic Mexican food, go here. It’s a hole in the wall type place so don’t expect to be wowed by the ambiance or a world class mariachi band or something, but it does the trick if you want a laid back meal and to get a little buzzed with some good cocktails. I would definitely recommend it for eating in or take out.

i’m from San Diego, California so i was doubting the quality of this Latino influenced food but what we had wasnt too shabby. I work remote so our main office is in Newton and we went for drinks after work. BTW i cant believe«happy hour» is illegal in MASS! WTH! FOOD/DRINKS: totally got the Margaritas and they were not too strong nor sweet. They came in a cute cactus cup that i wanted to bring home haha We shared Ceviche, not that great, and the Mexican«Pizza» which was surprisingly satisfying. PRICE: i dont remember how much it was… but i would say average? AMBIANCE: random hole in the wall and not good for loud parties, aka me and my friend who laugh super loud. The restaurant was kinda shaped weird and enclosed. Clean but you can tell it was an older place. SERVICE: they were attentive and friendly.
