These guys are great. Needed my breaks replaced; they called and gave me a quote once they checked out the car. Replaced the breaks within a couple hours and
I got my car back the same day. Didn’t try to sell me any extras and they were really nice; best I’ve found after being in Boston for 8 years. I’ll definitely go back.

After (idiotically) jumping my car with the terminals switched, I was sure that I’d fried my computer’s brain. After my mistake, I wasn’t getting any dash lights or any type of response at all even when trying to (correctly) jump the car. I had my car towed to Paul’s because it was the closest location.
From the moment that I showed up at Paul’s, it was a great experience. I was greeted by Kevin, who was super friendly and tried to help me feel like less of an idiot. «Don’t worry about it, we all make mistakes!»
Luckily, my mistake wasn’t as bad as it could have been. The guys at Pauls had me back on the road within 24 hours at a very reasonable price. They were great through the whole experience. I’ll definitely be back the next time I have automotive issues, and I’ll happily recommend them to all of my friends.

I went to Paul’s Auto Service today and I am very impressed. I previously had a go-​to mechanic in Watertown (I wont mention names) who also has great reviews on Unilocal but Paul’s Auto Service blew them away. Fast, efficient service and great prices. Paul’s quote was well below the competition and my car was ready the same day. I have found my new go-​to mechanic.

Paul’s is the best place around to go to for your auto repair needs, they are hard working, flexible and efficient! I had to bring my car in for what I assumed was all four brakes– a new brake light and an oil change. They did the front brakes and informed me I could safely get 80,000 more miles out of my rear brakes before needing new ones, which was great to find out! DJ was super friendly and honest, resulting in my bill being lower than previous places I’d gone before, I don’t plan on bringing my car anywhere else!

I chose Paul’s based on the Unilocal reviews and other recommendations. What a great repair shop. Professional, friendly and efficient. Although his labor rate isn’t the cheapest around, Paul and his mechanics are so good at diagnosing and repairing your vehicle, that the bottom line is a lower repair bill. These guys are awesome (and AAA approved)!

Excellent customer service, friendly and honest! I wish I had seen other reviews and found Paul’s two years ago when I moved to the neighborhood.
I went to Paul’s for a second opinion when I was told that my brakes were dangerously low (when at another place for a routine oil change). I called and he fit me in within the hour between appointments. He told me what I suspected (that I was being given the runaround at the other place), though could have easily taken advantage. I will be going to Paul’s for brakes when I need them and everything else car-​related.

Paul’s has been, by far, the best auto repair service I have ever received. After getting a sky high quote (5k!) from a Watertown shop around the corner from my house I thought my 148k mile Subaru was done. I immediately went to the dealership and test drove a few but couldn’t get it out of my mind that my car should keep on goin’.
I made an appointment with Paul and he looked over my car and called me with much doubt in sinking any money into the car because it has 148k miles on it. I was majorly bummed! I can’t afford a new car right now and I had put so much TLC into my Subaru I thought it’d see me to 300,000+.
A few hours later Paul called back to say that he called the Subaru dealership and provided them with my VIN and asked about the priciest of problems (catalytic converter (s)?) and they told him that they will cover it free of charge. He then called me, excited, and said that I should start there — take the car to Subaru and get that changed and bring it back and we will go from there. So much thanks to him. The other shop I went to just said «you know, if you put $ 5k into the car today it will go or another 150,000 miles».
I will be back to Paul’s for ALL my auto needs.
Plus, he’s got a giant elderly chocolate lab :).

I’ve been so impressed with Paul’s Auto Service since coming to him. He’s always available to help when you need it and he’s an honest, hard-​working guy. I don’t know much about cars, and he’s good with telling me what problems are of serious concern and what are quick fixes. I just got back from his garage a moment ago because I was driving and my rusted heat shield started dragging beneath my undercarriage. He took the car right away and told me it’d just be an hour or so to fix. I didn’t have an appointment and he was kind enough to fit me in.

As a girl who knows very little about cars, Paul & the guys could easily take advantage of me. However, they don’t!
The rates here are very good and the service is FAST. I almost always get my car back the same day without an appointment. The quote is always spot on too. And when there’s something going on with your car, you really don’t need any more surprises.
They always take the time to explain to me what exactly the problem is (or problems are) along with what they did, what I’ll need to do soon, and what I might want to keep an eye on in the future. They even have offered me advice on things I can do myself (ME? Touch the inside of my car?! They empower me!).
Being friendly and honest goes so far in this business. Don’t tell Paul, but I would probably still come here even if they charged a little more because I know that I can trust them.
Plus, it’s really nice to pet a fluffy pup while you wait :)

Paul’s is fantastic. My parents have been bringing their various cars to Paul for over 20 years — he’s kept us on the road safely and economically! He’ll tell you exactly what’s wrong, what you have to fix now, what can wait — he’s always honest, direct, and a pleasure to do business with. Service is prompt and friendly and HONEST! If only ALL mechanics could be like Paul! I’ve brought my car elsewhere for various reasons (location, type of car) — but always end up coming back to Paul…

What a great experience! Paul is great and his pup is wonderful! But down to business — brought the car in and it was ready within a few hours (about 4) and the price was very reasonable.

Just had my front brakes totally overhauled at Paul’s last week. Left my truck on Monday afternoon and they had the job done before noon on Tuesday! No hastles whatsoever. Rates were totally reasonable and everything is working great so far. Paul even called to alert me that my E-​brake was locked up and they got it functioning again. Overall, a good honest quote and a job well done (and speedy turn-​around time to boot).

I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else. Paul always explains everything fully, let’s you know your options, and his quotes are always fair. Good to have a place like this close. Especially with having an older car at the house.
