Carmine’s is a great deli. The 7″ brick oven bread is delicious and they are very generous with their portions. Prices are also very reasonable and I love that they accept credit cards. Chris the owner has a great personality and sense of humor. He likes to joke around which can be perceived as being sarcastic but he really is a nice and friendly guy.

I knew something was different here and now its clear carmine left. The guy who is there now it you walk in ½ hour before it closes makes it known its almost closing time .with a big mop in middle of floor. Very unfriendly and food is not the same

We had a great meal at Carmine’s. The staff was very nice. I had the grilled chicken with roasted red peppers and fresh mozzarella. It was awesome. I’ll be back for more …

The new owner Christopher Smith is a little sarcastic. You can tell his heart is not in it and he would rather be somewhere else. I heard he bought it from his brother inlaw. My real concern is the prices. When I go, I buy the same thing every time but the price is always different. They have a sign out front stating you get a free small coffee with a breakfast sandwich if you order before 10:30 yet I am always charged for the coffee.

Since the owner wouldn’t comment to my review herself and private message me, I thought I would share it. MAYBE if her attitude was better, her business would be too. My review was not a lie! I don’t right false reviews to places. My reviews are genuine and true. The female owner was not even there when I was. Dawn S: Business runs the same way my family has run it in the past if not better most of our customers eyes. Bread ends cut off was explained to you about it being 8 inches and sandwich sizes sold are 7 or 14 inches. That hasn’t changed whether Carmen and myself run our business. As far as me giving my to daughter the ends to eat is just a flat out lie. She was eating her own breakfast off to the side of the store. You must be really bored if your comment is pretending to something you endured months ago since my daughter hasn’t been to store in months. Your comments are wrong and classless but nice try in trying to bash the store. Our customers are smarter than that I’m sure.

My family and friends love this place. Breakfast sandwiches are consistently delicious. I love Taylor ham and they probably put 8 slices on each sandwich. For lunch, I usually order a half sub and I have a hard time finishing even the half. Just like their breakfast sandwiches they do not skimp on the meat. I seen some other reviews about the owner/staff being rude and I’ve never encountered this. They can be busy at lunch so they’re not chatty or overly friendly, but I would never say they are rude. Overall great sandwiches and good value. Also happy that they’re now open Sundays.

Previously I was a huge fan, but since Carmine left things have gone downhill. The new team has an attitude, isn’t very clean, and loves to argue with you on your order. I love how even though their own menu clearly explains what«everything» is on a sub, they were confused by my request, and then asked if I wanted mayo on it… which is not included. Shame, this place used to be be great.

Have the French Toast! I know, strange for a deli but oh so good :). Panini’ are a great choice too. Friendly staff, quiet neighborhood, great food! You can even order your weekly cold cuts there. A great little find.

So glad this place exists. I have friends in the area and I stop here occasionally. It’s just a simple deli with great sandwiches and nice, efficient service. Has small town deli hours, but I’m not going to take anything away for that. Best bacon egg & cheese bagel w/SPK I have had in recent memory in NJ, and I’ve gotten great subs here too.

Every time I have gone the sandwiches have been amazing. It’s really good quality food, fresh and prepared just the way you like it. It’s down the block from me. I really need to start going there more often and you should too. It’s the perfect little place in Wanaque.

Old style deli. Generous portions and reasonable prices. Everything made to order. Free coffee with a breakfast sandwich. Can’t lose here.
