Ya know, people complain that they are expensive and, yes, they are a bit more than others on some things BUT their stock is soooo healthy and well cared for and if paying a little more gets me that, well, I don’t mind. My vegetable garden this year was planted fully with cell packs purchased though them. The plants were so healthy and now the rewards they’re giving have led to some fantastic summer dinners. Mmmm white eggplant, zebra green & lemon tomatoes, Swiss chard all of it sooooo good! Abby’s rocks!

The quality of the flowers and vegetables at this nursery is excellent… and Abby’s doesn’t hesitate to charge accordingly. Expect to pay several dollars more for a flat. Avoid going on weekends… it is extremely crowded in the good weather and there is NOPARKING. They have a system whereby young kids take your purchases to your car(which is parked around the block in the neighborhood)…after which they wait around FOR A TIP! That adds insult to injury when you’re already paying premium prices for the merchandise. At the very least, Abby’s should take responsibility for the parking situation and have these kids wear t-shirts that say«NOTIPPING!» Yes, there are people everywhere to assist with any questions or concerns, but these folks also follow you around like hawks. It’s very disconcerting to shop while someone stands in the shadows keeping an eye out. I have shopped here because I prefer to support my local vendors and the quality is consistent. However, I limit myself to weekdays when parking is available.

Bought flowers there this past weekend. The prices of flowers have definitely gone up but that could be a result of increased fuel prices. The service there is always great, plenty of people walking around to ask questions and get advice from. Always someone to help you to your car since parking is a bit of a challenge.
