We went to Oreganos Joes for take out today, what a disappointment. we were there on a Saturday night, at about 6:45, and there was a person who was supposed to make take out pizza but he had no orders to make a pie. He was just standing there board. He made our pie, a deep dish meatball pie and we ordered and a house salad with grilled chicken. Our pie had no taste, or season, and the salad had 4 little stripes of grilled chicken, the salad dressing had no taste, just like the pizza. We should have realized that this place was not even a average pizza establishment when we entered, and there was not a smell of good food on the premises. We will never go back. There are so many other places to go for good take out in Wantagh, such as Phils Pizza on Wantagh avenue. where the food is unbelievable. They need to learn how to use garlic and oregano and other spices to make their food taste better, I give them a D-, and I will never be back.

Pretty good! Tried a couple of their deep dish pizzas(Eggplant & Buffalo chicken — not really authentic«Chicago-style», something in between; a bit thicker than normal typical NY slice) & they were both good, especially the Buffalo. It was even better the following days upon heating it up & getting it a little crispy in my oven. ***HERES A TIP!*** Order online &SAVE10%!(off 1st order). Not bad!

Working in the area we order quite often from Oregano Joe’s. For the most part everything is usually perfect.. The Short Rib pizza and Buffalo Calamari pizza is wonderful. My only complaint is that I once ordered a Tomato and Mozzarella Salad with shrimp. The shrimp were $ 6 extra and I got 3. $ 2 per shrimp is quite pricey and no, they weren’t jumbo shrimp.

UPDATE: I want to thank Anthony and the staff at Oregano Joe’s for everything they did for me and my wife’s family yesterday. My wife lost her Mom and we needed to make last minute preparations for lunch after the church services. When we first spoke with Anthony a few days earlier we told him we had about 30 people coming, well it turned out we had 47. Within minutes Anthony had extra seating and food being prepared for us. This restaurant knows how to take care of their customers. Anthony, you made a stressful situation, stress free. He even put out two pizzas for the kids. The food as always was excellent. Chicken Francese, Baked Ziti and Eggplant Rollatini. I would love to give Oregano Joe’s 10 stars, but Unilocal stops at 5. Thanks you and make Oregano Joe’s your go to place.

Went for the Tuesday 11.95 pasta night Pros Good bread Friendly staff Nice place inside Cons Substituted Fusili for a Rigatoni dish, Rigatoni came and I was told they ran out of Fusili. Thought it was rude to assume and not inform me and ask what pasta I would like. Check comes and Fusili was never mentioned so I was lied to. Desserts were microscopic. I get its only $ 12 but don’t tease me. Special pasta menu should give access to the regular menu

If you like pizza that is burned on the bottom and calzones that are soggy and wet then enjoy. This was take out. If I was eating there I would not have paid for this junk. There are much better pizza places close by.

After driving past for at least a year, we decided to give it a try. A Friday night at 6:30 and there was only one other table occupied in the dining room. Our waitress was nice enough but never told us about the specials. After we ordered we heard them being offered to other tables. The other two people in my family ordered Caesar salad which they said was good. That’s when things went down hill. All the other tables that came in after us got theirs meals while we waited over a half an hour. When our dinners finally arrived we were quite disappointed. I ordered chicken parmigiana, someone else had the ravioli and the third dish was chicken gorganzola. The tomato sauce was very bad, as if it came from a jar. When we left the dining room was about half full. The pizza counter was completely dead on a Friday night at 7:30 which after experiencing our meals made sense. Will not be back and will stick with Umbertos.

Stopped in for pizza. Delicious. The mozzarella garlic bread is tassssty and the pizza is very good. Prices are more than reasonable. Only complaint is the food could have been hotter, but I won’t take a star away for something that is easily fixed. Might be our new place.

Ate at Joes last night with friends. Service was warm, friendly. and very efficient. I had chicken sorrenteno which was outstanding, and a side of penne with garlic and oil, cooked al dente, which is what I like best. My wife and friends were equally very happy. Definitely worth going to !!! Price was average

A recent find and definitely a keeper! This restaurant was amazing!(and I am very picky with my Italian cuisine!) The eggplant rollatini was phenomenal and just as good the next day for leftovers!(the portions are huge). The restaurant side is quiet and intimate and the pizza side is great for a quick meal or take out! Must try the chicken ceaser salad wrap! That was fantastic as well! I will definitely be back! Thanks Joe! For a great first experience at Oregano Joes!

Let me start out saying. It has been a long time coming when i have been completely satisfied after having a meal at a restaurant. Let alone a pizzaria/restaurant. A few of us were invited to Oregano Joe’s last night on Wantagh Ave in Wantagh just short of sunrise hwy. A quiet frontage with a large banner on its façade stating it enthinic fare. The proprietor /owner Joe, ring a bell, greeted us upon entering, gracious and welcoming. Since it was ate first there we were given the grand tour. First a small pizza oven side dispaying there wide variety of, I’m sure you taste in pizza was there. Flanked by calzones, rice balls and an array of other stuffed, rolled and I other golden brown Italian tastes. With that said. Joe sat us at our table in the restaurant side of his establishment presenting us with a menu. A very warm and comfortable seating area. With just the right amount of tables to give plenty of room for your in intimate conversation. That said. The menu hosts a diverse and well organized variety without being complicated. The staff all were pleasant and made you feel like a long time regular. Now for the main course. I myself ordered the chicken franchise. A dish I am very picky about. It was done to perfection. A wonderful blending of delicate flavor and tender chicken. My opinion probably one of the best I have had. My guests had eggplant rollatini which could stand alone with the rest of them. The other had the white clam combo. Again delicate in flavor buy big on stature. All and all I feel«Oregano Joe’s» is a jewel among the compitition. I highly recommend a try. Bön Appétit Dean.

Me & my girlfriend eat here about 3 times a week. the chicken parmesan hero is always made fresh & chicken & sauce has a real nice flavor the Italian bread is always just rite .my girlfriend either gets the grilled chicken salad or the seafood diablo which comes with a pasta & is insanely huge. if they say 10 mins your order will be ready b4 that. the staff of employees are very welcoming they greet every1 that walks in with respect & if u go there enough they already know what ur gonna order & remember your name, remembering a name goes a long way in my book. If I could give them more then 5 stars I would. Definitely go eat there you won’t regret it & just might find your new favorite Italian restaurant. . Tat2 billy

They are basically set up like the prior owners(Cherrywood Pizza). So far, we only had take-out and overall it was good.

It’s okay. Nothing special. Nice décor but unimpressed with the pizza. Don’t really understand the rationale for yet another pizza place in town… anyway, nice place and the workers seem nice enough but not blown away by any of their pizza choices

Just ordered this«panini» and I am so disappointed! Never ordering from here again. The top of my panini looked good, when I picked it up the bottom piece of bread was soaking wet I can barley pick it up. So disgusting.

Stopped by on the way home from work and just grabbed a couple of reg slices. Service was fast and friendly and the pizza was pretty good. I want to come back next week and try the meatballs and pasta choices. Its much better than Cherrywood was. That pizza was horrible. Good luck to them. And PS complaining about the price of something on a website when all you had to do was bring it up to them in person is a douchebag move. People on long island are the rudest most self entitled yambags ever. Picky pain in the asses. good luck to them hope they don’t get more idiots in there that complain about nothing.

Got charged 22 $ for an order of Penne Broc. For only pasta and broccoli i think thats really ridiculous. My family all got chicken franchaise and veal marsala for 17.95.
