Polo Azteca! That’s my go to! I’ve been going here for years whether it’s with my family or friends. When I go the staff is so nice and they always recognize us and sometimes know our order before we say anything! It’s nice to have friendly familiar faces. Good salsa and hot chips too.

This used to be an enjoyable dining experience. The food was good. The service decent. I recently stopped by for lunch on a day off. My elderly Mother was with me. The place was fairly busy, but everyone seemed a little on edge. We we were taken to our table and menus were tossed on the dirty table. One bad host does not make a bad restaurant. As we were trying to decide what to have an argument broke out in the kitchen. Voices shouting, foul words in Spanish. Pushing started and those in the dispute entered the cooler where a full blown fight occurred. We quickly left. No food was ordered. I will NOT return to a place that allows such nonsense. Other staff stood and laughed as this all happened. I now know why other patrons seemed to be on edge. Absolutely Ridiculous. I DONOT want to give it one star but you can not get off the page with out it. No food is worth this

This is the best restaurant in the area. I go here every chance I get. The food is very fast and yet still fresh. I’ve been to El Azteca hundreds of times and I can honestly say out of all those times the food wasn’t up to par only once. That’s a pretty good ratio in my book

Very disappointed. Food was way to salty and salsa was very tasteless. Will never eat there again. El Azteca in Indian Lake is so much better.

Good food and fast service. Prices are reasonable. Seems to be a popular place because it was pretty buy for a Wednesday night. The beer was cold.

Great nachos and salsa. The food came out fast. We had the guadalajara special and the veracruz special. Both were muy especial. Plates were grande y mucho caliente. El bano esta clean. But, minute rice for the spanish rice???

El Azteca is a staple in my hometown. The place is ran by Hispanics so you know the food is authentic. It’s your typical small town tex-mex place. I have been coming here for more than 10 years. They start your visit with homemade tortilla chips and salsa. The menu has just about anything Mexican you would want: vegetarian? Fajitas, salads, chicken, enchiladas, tacos, etc. The food is always served super fast so if you are in a hurry this is a good place to go. The food is always good and super hot. They have a full bar and they make amazing margaritas, daiquiris and sangria. The servers are very friendly and usually have a really good sense of humor. This is one of the best places to come in Wapak.

Salsa is good — has a nice spice. Food is pretty reasonable — 8 $ for veggie fajitas. Portion was huge and pretty good — not the most flavorful ever but good. Pico de gallo and beans were awesome. A decent number of vegetarian options.

Wasn’t expecting much when I stopped in here for lunch, but wound up being pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed the food. I went with the Speedy Gonzales lunch special which included a taco(hard or soft) and an enchilada and your choice of rice or beans. While waiting for our lunch(which wasn’t long), we enjoyed the chips and salsa. Overall, food was really good and my coworkers with me said they enjoyed their meals as well. Booths felt a bit tight with four of us in there(and no, we aren’t that big of people). Our waitress was just OK. I ordered tea but later realized I had the choice of raspberry tea or regular tea and I wish she had told me that. Likewise, with my meal selection, I felt she should have asked if I wanted my taco hard or soft. All that being said, I would certainly come back!

Great service! Delicious food! On the last visit, I ordered the vegetarian fajita meal… yum! Very generous serving. The décor is cheerful and bright. I have eat Mexican food in Mexico, California, and New Mexico… this is not your typical Midwest Mexican food! The dinner prices range from $ 7.50−13.00. You will not be disappointed.

This is the best Mexican restaurant I think I have ever been too. The place has fresh made salsa and fresh chips that are brought out to your table. You can request hot salsa at a small charge — which I always get! Monday through Saturday they have standing lunch menu along with a daily special. If there for lunch, I get one of these specials. If I am there in the evening I usually just order sides and not a meal because the portions are huge. The staff are very friendly and do recognize regulars along with fast service. This is a family owned business and most staff are from central Mexico I believe. This is the place to eat when you are in Wapakoneta. The quality of food is so above any fast food that is along that road — the prices are very reasonable and can be cheaper than eating fast food if you don’t count any alcohol.

I lived in Wapakoneta for two years, and my husband grew up there. This place sets the benchmark for Mexican food in my opinion. It’s relatively cheap(as in, costs more than Taco Bell, but less than pretty much everywhere else), the portions are huge, the salsa is fresh and the chips are still hot from the fryer when they arrive at your table. The service is always great. The waiters(it’s an almost exclusively male staff, or was the last time I was there) are friendly and though some of them are obviously still learning English, I’ve never, in five years of going to this place, had them get an order wrong. I went there a lot when I lived in Wapak, and go everytime we visit my in-laws. They have a great lunch menu, lots of vegetarian choices and just some of the tastiest food I’ve ever had. After not having been there in almost two years, I went last summer while visiting the mainland. I was certain I’d built up El Azteca to a level it couldn’t match. But when I got there and tried it, it was better than I remembered. Also, the décor(including the new, neon-painted chairs) is awesome. Hilariously stereotyped perhaps, but distinctive, that’s for sure.
