Good wines, very friendly staff, and amazing views. It’s a great place to taste, order your favorite glass, and spend the afternoon enjoying your wine and the beautiful view.

Great wine! Customer service has much to be desired, was looking for a tasting experience to coincide with the great wine and view, felt like we were putting the two ladies there out by being there(it was not busy).

The wine is ok but the staff is unfriendly. The gal that served us obviously does not enjoy her job, the other gal that was working was more interested to find an error run thru with their cash register. Not engaging like most the other wineries!

It is a nice winery/fruit farm that has great views around. We were met by a nice woman that made us feel very welcome. We’re red wine drinkers and they have nice red blends as well as classic Cabs/Syrah. The wines are a little heavy at the finish(as far as I remember, the average alc percentage is about 13.9 — 15% which makes you feel a little hint of alcohol at the end). That was the only little disappointment. Overall — good 4.

The grounds are gorgeous and have a beautiful view! Loads of great outdoor seating and a little pond/waterfall. Inside is super comfy with easy chairs around a big tv, places to sit and play games. The staff are super friendly and nice! Only thing is, I wasn’t that impressed with the wines, but my friends were and bought 3 cases of wine.

View is great, but wines definitely don’t deserve a tasting fee. Plus the fee isn’t even refunded with purchase. Who does that? Add to that tasting staff who are not hospitable and make the experience even more painful. I love the Yakima Valley and there are enough better wineries to patronize that I won’t be back.

We have been visiting this winery since they were serving tastings in the barn/warehouse at the bottom of the hill and had just converted some of the area dedicated to apples to vineyards. I had my first DRY Gewürztraminer here sitting in a chair, talking to Liz, and was sold on this wine. I am not a Riesling or Gerwurtz Gal, but I love Windy Hill’s Gerwurtz. And now I REALLY love their reds. The blends(Exclamation Point in particular), Barbera, etc. etc. The owners and staff are friendly and the setting is one of the best in the Valley. I was contrasting their wine with ALL the wines I tasted at the Kirkland Uncorked a month or so ago where my friend and I were hard-pressed to find much of anything we liked. I loved the first tasting and pretty much liked all of the 7 or so that come with the $ 5 tasting. As mentioned by other reviewers, you get a 10% discount if purchasing 3 or more bottles. They also have a wine club you can join. This should be one of your stops on a Yakima Wine Tour. I could have bought cases of their Barbera, but one has to tighten the belt somewhere in this economy. I can’t wait to open my next bottle from WPV.

Very lovely winery overlooking the beautiful hills filled with apple, cherry, and apricot farms. Unlike most wine tasting rooms where we usually stay in the cellar, this place offered a breathtaking view seen through the tasting room with huge glass windows. I felt so relaxed even if we only made a quick stop on our way back home to Portland. The host was very nice. For $ 5 we’ve got 2 whites and 6 reds + 1 port. Oh and to serve some last minute or simply preoccupied folks out there, the wine tasting here went on until 5 pm in the winter and 6 pm in the spring/summer.

The grounds here were beautiful and the women pouring were very nice. We actually bought three bottles because they gave 10% off if you did, and we’d already picked 2. This was the only vineyard we visited outside of the Rattlesnake hills group and I’m glad that we made the extra stop.

Given this place was only my second time going wine tasting, it was still good! We came to this place after going to Sagelands vineyards and finding out that the winery was close due to renovation. We wanted to head to another wine tasting before we headed back to the hotel in Yakima so I went on my Android to find another winery nearby. I was able to find this was which was really close so we decided to check it out. When we got to the property, we could already tell it was amazing. The view they had, the house, everything was so beautiful. When we went inside, they were really busy so we just looked around until we got a chance to sit down. The two women who worked there were really nice. They explained their tasting price which was 2 whites and 5 reds, all about 1 ounce pour of each one for only $ 5. Apparently really cheap so we started off with that. The first we tasted was the one that stuck in my head for the rest of the time being. It was the 2008 Gewürztraminer, it was so refreshing and clean. I liked that one of most. The rest of the wines we had were also really good. My boyfriend, his mom and I liked this place so much, we left with about 10 bottles. So worth it. So if you like a quiet room with strangers quietly mingling, a beautiful scenic view, and great wine, this place is definitely the place to go.

Windy Point was our last stop as we headed out of Yakima Valley back to King County. I had been here once before and was excited to come back this time around. The tasting room is up on a hill overlooking the valley. The view is gorgeous and the tasting room itself is a big dining room/kitchen so you almost feel like you’re at a dinner party. The service was friendly and very attentive. There was a $ 5 tasting fee and 8 wines being poured, 2 whites and 6 reds. My favorites were the Cab Franc, which would be perfect with food or just on its own. The Cab Sauv was also strong enough to hold its own(there was almost a slight sweetness) and would also complement a variety of dishes. There were two Exclamation Point red blends, I ended up buying a bottle of the ’05 Exclamation Point, a Cab Franc/Merlot blend. The counter had bowls of thick hearty Neva Betta crackers that were for sale in the tasting room/gift shop. They also offered samples of an artichoke cheeseball spread that was for sale. Everyone tasting was also very polite, moving aside after receiving their pour. The wine was elegant and flavorful, there was a cheerful ambiance, and a gorgeous view of the valley(even on a rainy day).

We stumbled upon Windy Point a couple years ago while wine tasting in Yakima and fell in love. They were leaps and bounds above the other 6 or so places we’d tried in the area. Plus they have a really handsome tasting room and nice owners/staff. We left with about 5 bottles — I think reisling, syrah, and their signature exclamation point. All delicious and under $ 20. Definitely worth a visit if you’re near Yakima, since they’re pretty much impossible to find in stores in Seattle :(
