JBP has outlined the history, so I’ll just add this has been my local tavern since I started the process of becoming a Fancy Lad. Though the legendary Monday Night Club may have fallen, The Circle still stands. If you’re ever in Wapella, or get a taste for a cold one when passing by on legendary Highway 51 (which runs about 10 feet in front of the bar right outside) swing in and knock back a few. Food is on par with top trad bar food in the area (the specials being a highlight) and if you’re lucky, you can talk Illinois basketball with R.L. Mills. Highest recommendation.
