I had requested a quote for a fireplace insert. Turns out Sigma’s was the absolute most expensive quote out of all of them — and, in addition, they wouldn’t even handle running the electricity for the blower. They wanted to run an exposed cord from the fireplace to a nearby electrical outlet — and all that for $ 6000. For that kind of money, I could have the entire fireplace ripped out and a totally brand new one installed by someone else. So, okay, for $ 6000 what do you get? Not much sales assistance. For this kind of money, I would expect someone to show me all the units, tell me the pros and cons of each one, and (using their expertise) help me to decide which one is best for me. Instead, here you get told what you should buy — and decide fast, there are tons of people right behind you who want this done by Christmas no matter what the cost.
