Love this place! Great food — great employees!!! Food is always overflowing hot and good!!! If you leave hungry it is your fault!!! Love dining in and take out too!!!

I really wanted to like this place. I remember coming here when I was a kid while spending the summers nearby. But, sadly, 2 stars is the best I can give this. And even that might be a stretch.
I got a «blue plate special» and an order of boneless spear ribs. When I get a dinner plate, I want the big portion of rice, because I always plan on making it 2 meals. This had maybe 2 heaping spoonfuls of rice… and it was a very dark brown color and overly greasy. I loooove regular chinese food. I mean, even bad chinese food is usually pretty good to me. This was just. not good. Of course I ate it, but I have definitely had better. Kudos for putting some scrambled egg and scallion in it though.
Boneless spear ribs are not your typical chinese take-​out. These were big thick, ACTUAL pork spear ribs, minus the bone. The only problem is, is that these are dry. Not yummy and a total waste of money since I will probably throw most of it away.
Chicken wings were also dry and very crunchy. Not very juicy. And the egg roll was ok. On the small side, and bland with bits of pork in it, but mostly cabbage.
Worst part is: this place is super expensive! They don’t have combo plates where you can «pick two or three» apps to come with pork fried rice (at least not that I could see) so I got one of the blue plate specials, and the boneless pork. My order came to $ 19. YIKES.
Sorry China Garden, maybe I caught you on a bad day, maybe I ordered the wrong items, but this food was not to my liking.
Also — the prices shown on the actual website (not the weird Virigina-​based restaurant listed here on Unilocal) are not what the actual prices are. Actual prices listed on a menu I picked are, are much higher.

This is by far the BEST chinese food in town. The restaurant is spotless ! The food is New Bedford style chinese. Fresh, homemade, AWESOME. Best bone in ribs, and the absolute best REAL chowmein with onion, celery & brown sauce.

Still a strong 4 stars! Super friendly people and fresh homemade food. Had the sweet and sour again, hubby had the general gau, which was also very good and slightly different from other places because it was homemade, not from a premade, so a little thinner, but very tasty. Please note the website address that is connected to Unilocal is WRONG, it is the wrong restaurant, so don’t go there expecting to see what’s on the menu Unilocal has attached. They said they have been trying to correct this for a year! Boo to Unilocal,but Rah to China Garden!

Disgusting! Seriously the worst Chinese food we’ve ever had and we have had a lot since it’s my husbands favorite.
Sweet & Sour Chicken: the chicken pieces were fried in a ½ inch thick of undercooked batter making it more like a chicken corn dog… yuck. The sauce wasn’t that great and not nearly enough.
General Chicken: tasted like soy sauce… not spicy at all.
Pork Lo Mein: ½ step above Ramen Noodles… barely.
Crab Rangoon: yuck
Egg Rolls: So-​so definitely not the best ever though.
In summary, we just threw away $ 40 worth of terrible Chinese food. We should have listened to our gut instinct when we noticed there are never cars in the parking lot… there is a reason!

I love China Garden! I’ve been eating here my whole life and it’s the cleanest and freshest Chinese food in the area! Service is always very good! I always leave full and when I order the dinner specials always have left overs. All the plates come with soup and the chicken and rice is great! I’m sad they switched from serving cups and bowls of hot and sour soup to only bowls but it’s still delicious! The dishes with vegetables are always fresh and never canned or frozen, you can seriously taste, see, and smell the difference! Not open late but a great place to bring friends and they have awesome cheap drinks! Best scorpion bowls and can make them for one if you want! OH and the duck sauce is awesome! Home made and non of that flavorless red goo you get in the mall! This actually had chunks of apple in it! The sweet and sour sauce had cherrys and pineapples OMG awesome!

I love this place and I always will! Five stars because the owner is the nicest person and is always happy to see her customers. She knows your order before you even tell her your name (yay caller ID). Everything is homemade, nothing frozen up in here, I don’t know what that other guy is talking about. In high school I survived on their hot & sour soup. I have never found one I like as much. Ooooh, the Crab Rangoon are the best I have every had! I live in NYC now and I still can’t find a version I like as much… and believe me, I search! They use huge chunks of meat and fresh scallions. They also fold them into triangles so all the good stuff stays in. I always ask for some dumpling sauce to go with them. Even the duck sauce is homemade! It is the best duck sauce ever! I want to go visit my parents just so I can buy some! You know how a lot of places give you that pinkish orangish packages stuff? Not this place! Even the spicy mustard is homemade!
