We took a canal cruise yesterday. We left from Onset Harbor mid-morning on a bright sunny late May Day. It was cool but very comfortable. We headed out to the canal which was calm and cruised up to Sandwich. The ride took about an hour and was enjoyable. We were able to relax on the deck and talk. In Sandwich we had a very nice lunch at the Pilot House. After lunch we walked out past the Coast Guard station to stop at the visitors center. The visitors center had an interesting movie on the making of the canal. After the short film we walked out to view the ocean. We then strolled back to the dock where Captain Trent and his mate Corey were waiting to take us back. The return trip was just as pleasant. We were able to watch all of the people fishing on the shore and biking in the trail. A great day was had by all.
