I don’t know how this only has 2 stars — I think this is based on past experiences with a restaurant at the same location under a different name. Anyway — the boneless ribs are awesome and so is the chow mein and dumplings. The pork fried rice leaves a little to be desired, but honestly — everything else is so good, I rate it a 5! Go here and try it!

Grand Opening– Now Featuring: Higher prices, smaller portions, and WORSE service! (BTW I usually choose to review places I really enjoy. I was on the fence about writing this review at first because I didn’t want to jeopardize their new reputation after the grand opening under new management. However, as my experience ordering with them got worse by the minute, I decided to go ahead.) The first thing I noticed was that the portions were smaller at a higher price. They sent a dish that was contaminated with hair and when I called asking for a refund they refused. We finally agreed that they would send out the dish again(I didn’t want store credit because I probably will never order from here again.) The second driver called and it seemed he couldn’t figure out how to get to my address. I tried to explain several times over but wasn’t sure if he understood(English was his second language). When the driver didn’t show up, the restaurant told us to meet the driver up the road. .. which defeated the whole purpose of getting delivery.(Mind you this was the second delivery for food that I wanted a refund on to begin with.) I don’t blame the driver at all. He seemed like a really nice guy and was probably the best part of this whole experience. He was only driving because the actual delivery guy had gotten off from work since the restaurant had closed by that time. Finally got my food after the restaurant called the driver back and translated. At this point I didn’t have an appetite and I wasn’t in the best of moods. What I thought was going to be an easy relaxing dinner became much more complicated than it ever had to be. I was really looking forward to some Chinese food too and now all I’m left with is disappointment. :( Honestly, I feel bad writing this review because I know how hard it can be owning a restaurant(especially for an immigrant family) I guess if they were to prove me wrong in the future I would definitely be willing to change my review. At this point though, I’m not sure if I’ll ever give them another chance. TL;DR: Save yourself the disappointment, order from somewhere else.

Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Bean curd and vegetable soup was hot water and mushy veggies, not even remotely edible. The scallion pancakes were doughy and mushy. The general tsos tofu was mushy and I’ve had better sauce in the frozen section of the supermarket. Save your money, don’t even bother eating here!

This restaurant was formerly Great Wall. The poor family that owned it worked 70 hours a week and never made much money. So it was sold to people who renovated the space and named it Asian Café. They lasted only a few months. They sold it to people who renamed it Bamboo Garden(the present owners). Bamboo Gardens took over the phone lines from Asian Café, so the phone numbers are the same.(There is a 2nd number if the first one is busy: 401−289−0958.) I have now eaten from this restaurant twice. In both cases, the dish I got wasn’t as good as what I used to get from Great Wall. Let me make some comparisons to Great Wall: — The cooking doesn’t seem to be as good. The second dish I got was orange chicken; the chicken wasn’t crisp, and there wasn’t enough orange flavor or hot pepper flavor.(Great Wall’s orange chicken was crisper and tastier.) — Most dishes are available only in the large quart size; very few dishes are available in the pint size.(Great Wall served most dishes in both sizes.) — They do not serve brown rice, which I prefer.(Great Wall served brown rice.) — The amount of rice that they give you is inadequate. Most Chinese restaurants will give you a pint of rice with a large dish, while this place gives you a half-pint.(Great Wall included more rice.) — They charge $ 1 for delivery on top of any tip you may choose to give.(Great Wall charged no delivery fee.) So you can see why I’m not gung-ho on this restaurant. Let me qualify what I’ve just said by saying this: In my opinion, most people in Rhode Island don’t know what really good Chinese food tastes like. I spent most of my life in New York City where I ate in China Town on many occasions. I also ate in some very fine uptown Manhattan restaurants. However, in Queens, NY, where I ended up, the Chinese food was average. If you are accustomed to eating average Chinese food, you may find this food to be good. On the second occasion that I ate food from here, I ate with a friend, and she thought the food was delicious. Bamboo Garden delivers most dishes in paper containers which are not recyclable(because of the chemicals they add to the paper to make it waterproof). However, you should rinse and recycle any plastic containers that you get from them. This is mainly a take-out place(take-out and delivery). Like Great Wall, the eating-in experience probably won’t be good. The dining room is small, and they serve food on paper plates with plastic utensils.
