Absolute worst haircut I’ve ever had in my life. I was tired of trying to decide where to get my hair cut every time and I pass this place on my way to work everyday and decided to give it a try thinking«they know how to cut men’s hair, they should be trained for men’s hair.» Nope. The lady who cut my hair was a little older and i think she had a slight foreign accent but she barely said anything to me so idk. I asked her to do a 3 on the sides and finger length on top. Easy enough… You’d think. She ended up doing a 2 on the sides and only used the texture scissors on top barely taking anything off. The right side of my head where it shoulda been blended to the top was super short. And the left side was long. It looked horrible and I had a charity event that night to attend so I wanted nothing to do with this place and went down the street to a salon where they fixed it for me. I can’t stress how bad this haircut was, looks like my 6 year old brother cut my hair. I was in the chair for maybe 3 – 5 mins max. And when she was done I asked how much and instead of politely telling me how much she pointed to the sign hanging up which said $ 8.00. Absolutely rude. I wouldn’t have them cut my hair it it was free. DONOTGOHERE!

This place is and older building, and could use a lot of updating, but when it comes to getting a haircut, its fantastic. I used to try our different salons and different stylists, but everytime I tried it out, none of them ever cut my hair the way I wanted it. My hair is pretty simple as it is. Everytime I went to a salon it as cut way to short, the sideburns were always uneven, if not completely gone, even after telling them I wanted to keep them, just clean them up a bit. I could get a different barber everytime at Grimes, and come out with a great haircut. They are all friendly, and they take their time. No more waiting 45 minutes to sit down, and get a short 4 – 5 minute hair cut I hate. Now I walk in during my lunch hour, i’m out within 15 minutes, and I only pay $ 8 bucks, plus I leave them a good tip, usually around $ 5. I still pay less than a salon! Oh and I forgot, they use a straight razor to clean your neck up. Try it out if you have an easy hair style, and want fantastic service.

This is a neighborhood staple! With several decades of service, Grimes has been giving haircuts for guys for a long time. The place isn’t much to look at. Located in the Warren historic district, Grimes Barber Shop is in a building that dates at least from the early 20th century. With a small row of barber chairs and lots of waiting chairs, its mostly business as you wait and wait. Avoid going here on Saturdays if you can. There tends to be a line. The best thing about Grimes is that they’re very responsive to the kind of haircut you want. Almost all the barbers ask what you want. Even if you don’t have a vision for your mop, they’re all pretty skilled in a traditional man’s haircut. Additionally, the shop can give you a shave. The only thing missing is a shoe polish! Although Grimes services women(they have several women barbers), it seems to have mostly male customers. The price, compared to other barber shops, is a good deal too. Note that the parking is a bit strange, being on both sides of the building, but it works. If you’re ever in town, this is the place to get a real guy’s haircut.
