Fish tank on bar that doesnt work and full of junk. Quarter of the bar not lit and used as storage. One bag of chips on the chip rack lol. Pure sausage fest in this bar which is about right. If i seen a chick in here id wonder why. Ugh. Worth stopping by to check out for yourself. Oh. the artwork on the walls are free beer posters given by the vendors. Nice touch

Been wanting to go here for years… finally did it on a Saturday for lunch. He only had one piece of chicken left in stock — so spouse got a club sandwich got most of the chicken… He loved it. Nice looking bread, that looked as though it could be homemade. I ordered chicken tenders, which were mainly dough, BUTREALLYGOODDOUGH. The guy makes everything from scratch. Sauces and everything. Lots of old men here during the day playing Keno and very friendly. I’ll be back.

The best wings in town. A little hole-in-the-wall place where Patty knows your name(and drink of choice). The best low key place in town to get a drink.

Bars like J Edgar’s hold a special heart in each of the blue collar towns that comprise Metropolitan Detroit. They’re the kind of places where you can walk in and instantly understand what it’s like to live in the neighborhood solely by talking to the regulars. Although this bar is technically located in a shopping plaza, it has many of the distinct features one would come to expect with a bar located in the middle of a heavy residential area. It’s not a corner bar but it sure feels like it. I like visiting Edgar’s when I’m looking to drink boombas of something weak, eat run of the mill bar food, and play some Keno. If you go a few times the staff does a good job of making it seem like they remember you and make you feel like you’re one of the regulars. I’m not going 5 stars or even 4 stars with this place because in the end they have a pretty limited beer menu, most of the food is pretty bad, and the seating can be kind of a pain to navigate through on busy nights.

There is a certain charm to a hole-in-the wall in an inconspicuous strip mall. When you walk in to J Edgars, your first instinct is to immediately turn around and walk out. But if you fight that urge and stay awhile, you will find many things to like about J Eds. Cheap beer, surprisingly tasty bar food, and a friendly owner with wit and charm keep the loyal and interestingly unique customers coming back, while beckoning new ones to become regulars.
