Public Storage

We recently moved from Portland to buy and rehab solid old homes in Detroit.
We hired ABF U pack to move and store our goods.
They did a great job delivering the moving «pods» to us in Portland and it was our plan to take advantage of their on site storage when they arrived in Detroit. Unfortunately, while we driving across country somewhere in the middle of Nebraska we learned that the salesperson mis understood our intention and as a result we had five days to get the pods empty as they were rented to someone else! Tasked with the job of finding someplace to store basically everything we owned, in a city we knew little about we called at least 6 facilities that would not allow the pods to be delivered if they had to remain over night. ABF would not help by delivering and picking up the same day. To make matters worse we would have to trust strangers to unload all our earthly possessions from the pod into temporary storage!
When I spoke with Stephanie at Public Storage I was immediately relieved to find someone who «got» it. She had to do what no one else had and think outside the box to come up with a solution and she did! She actually helped us! She allowed ABF to drop the pods near the unit we rented and when we realized it would be too small she facilitated moving us into a larger unit.
I can recommend this facility as a clean, safe place to store with a great team ready to help.

After some back and forth and misinformation when setting up a unit, the service offered went above and beyond. We were having some issues finding an affordable place that could accommodate a semi truck on their property, so I called this company at a different location. The call was picked up by a rep at a call center, he tried calling the location I was trying to reach to see if they could accommodate a semi and no one answered. The rep then called a different location a few miles away and they could, he also suggested a larger unit at 10×15. He set up an appointment to check out the unit and we went. While we were there we realized the unit was a little too small and the larger available units were in an area that would not be large enough for a semi. Samantha, the manager at the property, was great. She called different locations to see what units were available and were also offering a promotion that drew us in. She finally found one and sent us on our way where we met with Justin. He was friendly and helpful. I will definitely keep these guys in mind when looking for a unit in the future. However, I will go to a location to conduct business and avoid doing it over the phone.
