Some of the worst food I have ever eaten… the meat was hard to chew and the food was over seasoned.

I’m a big fan of middle eastern food and this place isn’t too far from me so I decided to try it. I ordered the Shish Tawook(chicken breast) with rice and salad. The service was very good. The cashier was pleasant and very helpful. The restaurant itself was clean, if a little sparse. It doesn’t have much in the way of décor, but I wasn’t too concerned with that anyway. I was there for the food. The chicken was seasoned and cooked well. The salad was fresh and the dressing was good, although not as good as that from my favorite place. The price was clean and the food was pretty affordable. Overall, this is a pretty solid option for Middle Eastern food in the area. If I don’t feel like driving to pick up food from my favorite place, this is definitely a doable second option.

Great food. I’ve only been here twice and I enjoyed the food each time. The place is clean and people working there are very friendly and helpful. I didn’t know what lentil was so I asked and the girl working there offered me some soup to try and it was delicious. Will definitely make this one of my regular places to order food from.

Ordered: Chicken schwarma and lentil soup Price: $ 4.51 Ambiance: Pretty small but clean place with only 6 tables and a counter with bar stools where, about 22 seats total. The best thing about this place is the outstanding service. It was awesome to see the waitress greet everyone by name when they came in to pick up an order, she made a genuine effort to get to know her regulars. The chef stepped out of the kitchen to help and was super friendly as well. Despite the busy lunch hour, the waitress made sure to keep waters topped off and ran the place efficiently, it was impressive. Food: Started off snacking on the complementary pita, pickles and garlic sauce which was good. The garlic sauce was perfectly garlicky and salty to give a nice punch to anything you put it on. The lentil soup was a bit too tangy and needed a little more savory body but it was OK. The schwarma I was mixed about because the seasoning was a little too light/mild but the chicken itself was moist, tender, and had an awesome char/grill flavor. I enjoyed that they cut it into larger chunks to give it a nice mouth-feel but it did taste like I was just having plain, albeit very good, grilled chicken. They do put pickles in the schwarma which wasn’t excessive and of course garlic sauce. Portion-wise it was a hefty schwarma and I was full by the end with the soup and pitas. Overall this place was very reasonably-priced, enjoyable and the food very tasty. I would gladly come back again and, if I lived in the area, could easily see becoming a regular.

I’ve been visiting this restaurant for the past year and wanted to update Unilocalers that this is one of only a few restaurants that I can say is getting better with time. I they say their express but there is nothing express about the quality of the food always superb! I recommend the chicken shawarma, Kafta plate, Rice Almond Salad with chicken, Cabbage soup, and my favorite healthy meal tabbouli with chicken on top! They’ve earned their 5 stars, thanks Shish Express!

Had the kefta combo chicken and beef with rice and humus, well no leftovers. Food was amazing. If your nearby give it a try. Well worth the visit.

Favorite lunch spot! Go here two times a week, and usually order enough for me and my co-workers. Have tried several different items on the menu, and have had no issues. But the price is right here. The chicken shawarma for under $ 4 is my go to. The don’t skimp out on anything either. For a quick grab and go, or sit down, this place is a must try.

My FAVORITE lunch spot in the area! Warren lacks some healthier, quick options for lunch so when Shish opened I was so excited. I am yet to try something I do not like. Cannot beat the lunch specials – I get the Shish Tawook special that includes the chicken, rice, pitas, and a salad for $ 7.49. Everything is always fresh and so tasty.

This place is a god send! Warren is a sea of fast food junk, so a healthier alternative like shish express is wonderful. The food is affordable and consistently delicious. The service is great too, always fast and friendly! The lunch combos are a great deal. $ 7.50+tax for a large sandwich, soup/salad and French fries(which I try to avoid, but they are good!) I have yet to try anything that was less than awesome. Favorite lunch place!

I found this excellent restaurant because I happen to live real close and I noticed it by driving by one day when it first opened. I’m always willing to give local business’ a fair shot. So, I walked in and ordered a shish tawook entrée’ and let me tell you, as a single man with a large appetite that doesn’t like to cook much at home this sure hit the spot. I had plenty of left overs for the next day. Now I order the same dish(tawook) at least once a week and the people that work there always greet me with a smile when I walk through the door. I suggested that they re-name the shish tawook to shish John P. since I order it so much. Haha! Anyway, I know my food and love food in general. This place is awesome!!! +A

This restaurant was recommended by a friend who is an excellent middle-eastern cook. I knew that if she said the food was good that it had to be «really» good. We drove by to check it out. We figured if it looked like it was«carry-out» only we would just turn the car around and go somewhere else. The restaurant is near 10 Mile and Hoover in Warren, MI.(Next to Arby’s just west of Hoover on the South side of the street). We saw that there were some tables and chairs, so we went in for lunch. It’s small with just two tables that sit four and three tables that sit two each plus a few chairs at the counter. They really seem to do a thriving carry-out business and several customers came in to pick up their orders while we were there. We both ordered a sandwich combo which included salad and rice or fries. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious and we definately will be going back there again. The server, Najwa, was friendly and attentive. Her husband is the cook and I think their new restaurant will be very successful. Prices were very reasonable with specials listed on the board. They serve Cadillac coffee which I know from past experience is one of the best, plus they offer soft drinks, fresh brewed ice tea, hot cocoa, and smoothies. They cater all special occasions and events. If you are in the area make sure you try this place. We loved it.
