The only up side is the place is near the mountain. Food marginal at best. Staff surly and extremely rude. Called ahead with a big party and when we arrived they had«run out of chairs and can’t find any more». Six of our party had to sit at the bar, which was quite nice. Couldn’t split the check…“too complicated”. Staff was very put out by paying customers.

Sunday Brunch 9AM to 2PM is an exceptional winner. I think that the best brunch dish is the Eggs Benedict which has a marvelous Hollandaise sauce with a side of crisp bacon. Please try the Belgian waffles(and do you want them crisp or soft???) with local blue berries. Both the Canadian bacon and the maple sugar cured bacon can be ordered regular or extra crisp. Green salads are enormous and the balsamic salad dressing sparks and pops like fireworks. Umm? What to drink? At $ 7 per pop the Gran Marnier Mimosa takes the culinary trophy. Servers Melissa and Miss Ryan are delightful, but you can’t take them home with you. Chef Amanda in the world’s cleanest kitchen turns out super French fries and perfect pasta dishes. Amanda’s fish taco are«to die for»!!! It is just so nice!

Pastas were decent but nothing to write home about. My spinach salad was excellent. Caesar salads were also delicious. Nice ambience, friendly service. Great local beers on tap.

Like: great food, warm and nice bread, friendly and attentive service, cozy atmosphere Dislike: nothing in particular We came in a group of 6 after a tiring ski day in Sugarbush, nothing is better than delicious food served in a cozy restaurant with very attentive and friendly service. Each of us ordered starter, main course and desert. We had salad, pasta, stake, catch of the day, cheese burger, tiramisu, multiple brownies and lemon cheese cake. The food was delicious and, most importantly(to me), was that the bread was simply warm and yummy. I was on a no-carb diet, but when I saw how much my friends enjoyed it, I just had to break my little rule and dive in. If we come back to ski again, I would certainly come back!

The food is ok, the waitstaff is very pleasant. The décor and lighting is passable, kinda 60’s. The bar is nice. The host(owner?) seems to be confused, it takes quite a while for him to seat a party at empty tables. The pizza is good. They are closed in summer.

Open again as Terra Rosa after closing and reopening under a different name. We went during the busiest holiday week, and it was fairly jammed, putting stress on the seemingly understaffed kitchen. However… Front of the house staff, every one, was on their game, experienced, professional and really pleasant. Also, the food, while slow to arrive(just the entrees– salads and apps came quickly) was not slopped on the plates. Pasta dishes were all good, with a nice simple red sauce. Salmon was also done well and salads were all great. The pasta fagiole was delicious, light and garlicky, not a mushy mess. Pizzas looked quite appetizing– but we didn’t try one this time around. Design wise, they need to add some 5 foot tall, heavy, insulating café curtains in the back of the room. They could also post a sign on the second interior door asking people to make sure the first entry door is closed before opening door 2 and causing winter gusts to bother diners close by. Will definitely return.

My Partner and I were in VT for the 4th of July weekend and had taken a ride down«memory lane» at Sugarbush. He used to co-own a condo and had spent many wonderful winter’s skiing on the mountain as well as peaceful summers by the river. We stopped in for dinner at a late hour– 9 pm, but the staff was welcoming as we were greeted. We started with a ceasar salad, and then both had a pasta dish with a white cream sauce. Absolutely delicious! We could not find room for dessert, but will have to try it another time. I have heard from many that their flatbread pizza’s are great. They have the stone oven right in the middle of the restaurant as you walk in. The décor wsas just what you would want from an upscale restaurant on the mountain. Very nice. The Staff were very attentive. We enjoyed ourselves very much and will be back soon for another visit!

$ 2.95 for a second basket of bread? Really? I don’t think I’ve ever been to an Italian restaurant in my life that charges for a second basket of bread. In fact, I pretty much associate Italian food with free bread just like I associate Mexican food with free chips!!! I mean, I do thank you for saving me from ingesting yet more carbs and calories, because a $ 3 price tag for bread is a big enough deterrent for me! But then I have nothing to soak up extra pasta sauce with! This place is also in the middle of nowhere. It is on a very very dark street, and it like a little Italian Oasis in the middle of a bunch of trees. So you can’t really miss it if you are driving here. Overall this is an average place, but people that come here I guess have never seen one of those fire brick ovens before, because groups of people would go up and wonder in awe at the brick oven used to make their bread and pizzas. It was so funny. I guess they haven’t been to a CA Pizza Kitchen before, because it definitely wasn’t novel for me or Matt J. We got their spinach salad and a pasta dish but their pizza was the best part by far. We got their tuscan with chicken, sun dried tomatoes, olives, feta and pesto and it was quite fabulous. The only problem was that our entrée had to wait for our pizza to be made so the entrée wasn’t the warmest in the world, but for an Italian place in this tiny area of VT it is pretty good. Nice ambiance inside, big parking lot, but beware for the price tag on more bread!

Was in Vermont skiing this past week and looking for good food. My group of 7 and I found Terra Rossa to be acceptable, albeit overpriced. All the women ordered salads, which were very generously portioned. The house salad looked very plain, the ceasar salads were nice, however. My friend and I split entrees between the formaggio pizza and chicken with spaghetti and asiago chesse. The pizza was pretty good, though living in Ann Arbor I’m used to exceptional pizza. The asiago chicken was very poorly done — the pasta and chicken were overcooked and the sauce was nothing to write home about. Our group also ordered two bottles of wine, a riseling and another sweet white, $ 30 and $ 32 respectively. Both were alright, although nothing spectacular. Overall — the food was okay but fairly pricey. However, the atmosphere was excellent and it was right next to the mountain and our condos.

Last Thursday in Vermont was bitterly cold — the coldest I’ve ever experienced Warren. Before my brothers went skiing, a resort worker warned us he’d already had one person treated for frostbite; I couldn’t snowshoe because the trails weren’t marked, and when I went cross-country skiing, the wind was so biting I only lasted 45 minutes. It was harsh. Fortunately, that evening some of the town’s restaurants had opened up. It was still too early to have our traditional first meal at Chez Henri, but we took the opportunity to try Terra Rossa, a new restaurant near the condo. The place was pretty empty, so we chose to sit in a nice, large booth on the in the upper area. I liked the décor — a modern style that was warm and welcoming on a cold winter night. Our waitress was friendly; my brothers recognized her from lunch at another restaurant where she also works. As for the food: the bread was warm, always a nice touch. I had their clam chowder for an appetizer; it had a good amount of clam and was pretty tasty. As my meal, I had the chicken & sun-dried tomato alfredo, which I liked; it had good flavor and came in hearty portions. I had a glass of chardonnay, which was fine, as was the crème brûlée.(They made a good martini for my dad and managed to serve two completely full glasses without any spilling.) Overall, it was a fine meal — not outstanding, but definitely satisfying.
