Best Chinese I’ve ever had. Orange chicken is the BOMB. Unlike many places, you can see the white meat so you don’t have to worry about anything sketchy. The gold standard.

Called in a to go order and the lady was prompt and knowledgable and told me my total instantly. She said it would be ready in 10 minutes. I hopped in the car and to my surprise when I arrived the lady on the phone was maybe 9 or 10 years old. It had been maybe 8 – 9 minutes and it was already ready. The girl was very impressive to me as I have young children too and they do not yet have the skills she had. The food was very good. The chicken was terrific. The chicken they use is truly only white breast meat unlike almost any other oriental restaurants offer. If you want quick and cheap Chinese food that is several steps above Panda Express give it a shot. We will be back

Best Chinese food in Warrensburg. My family wants to eat there at least once a week. We usually get take out or delivery. There delivery is super fast.

I ordered the wonton soup, sesame chicken, orange chicken, and steamed dumplings because I really wanted to give this place a fair try. I was immediately disappointed to see that the chicken dishes were just(what appeared to be) the generic fried chicken nuggets from the grocery store with different sauces dumped on top. Very dry and lacked freshness. The orange chicken sauce itself was bearable, but lacked a depth of flavor. The sesame I found to be fat too sweet and thick, very hard to get down. The dumplings were obviously frozen and not made in house, typical watery taste to the meat and not much flavor. I appreciated that the sauce had spice to it, but possessed a strange smell that was off putting. The wonton soup was the highlight and I did enjoy it. Though it did not have the normal accoutrements you expect in a wonton soup, the wontons themselves were large and had a nice flavor. I was disappointed that meals are individual and not family style; but that is simply personal preference.

HKE is everything I look for in a cheap Chinese restaurant. I frequently order Sesame Chicken for less than $ 6 and grab a bowl of free soup every time I dine in. All of the chicken and beef are bought from a local butcher, so the quality is surprisingly great considering how grungy the building looks. It’s hard to beat on-campus convenience and low prices. Also, this is a thing

I love it here! I often go thru the drive thru. You do end up waiting a while but it is worth it because you know once you get home it was made fresh. My personal favorite is the sweet and sour pork. Everything I have tried there has been great.

I always get the orange chicken, and every time it is freshly cooked to crispy perfection. I’ve never taken a gross bite of chicken here – it’s always pure chicken breast and no weird«wtf did I just bite down on» encounters. The sauce is perfectly balanced and they are generous with it. I haven’t yet been disappointed by this surprisingly plain looking chinese hole in the wall.

It’s pretty much on UCM campus, easy to get to, while food was just ok except for the excess spice and oil that killed the dish.

Ordered a combo special which was supposed to include crab Rangoon. Neither my wife nor I got one. We just got rice and chicken. Our sesame chicken had very few seeds. Our pieces of chicken were too big as well. A child was running the cash register. The food didn’t taste that good, but at least it was very hot. We will never go back. It was a waste of money and time.

I’d tried delivery though this place twice before and thought it was basically the same as every other takeout place. However we had a date night and thought we’d try eating in once. They don’t have a buffet, which seemed a little odd in a college town with several other buffet Chinese food places. But, we took a chance and ordered anyways. It was so much better that way, I’m quite glad we rolled the dice. My orange chicken was superb, the coating hadn’t gotten soggy so it was very crispy with the right mix of spice and flavor. My date’s beef and broccoli looked great, the bites I stole from her were solid. The crab rangoon was perfect. The rice might have only been 4 star worthy, but that’s only because I’m trying to find something to nit-pick about. It was very affordable and we still went home with quite a bit of leftovers. Strong recommendation from me, and I saw their lunch menu prices were even better so I’m going to be taking advantage of that soon.

Interesting place. With a little faith, it turned out to be pretty good. A young girl was standing at the register, who turned out to be the one who took our order. She was actually very adept at what she was doing. Sweet & Sour Chicken was basically chicken nuggets with sauce, but, it was surprisingly good. The Kung Po Chicken was surprisingly spicy and good, with lots of veggies. Would try it again next time we’re through town.

First of all, this is the only place around here that has Springfield-style Cashew Chicken. Right there makes it five stars for me, as I grew up there, lived in Illinois for a while(where you couldn’t get it either), and moved to Warrensburg, which is not far from Springfield. I have tried several dishes here, and have never walked away feeling disappointed. In fact, I’ve never walked away hungry either. The portions, even for the«small» combo are HUGE. If you eat like I do, you will eat your combo for a couple of meals. The atmosphere is run-down and a little dated, but has been clean every time I have come in. The family that owns it has children, and sometimes they run the register and ask you all kinds of questions(last time, I got, «why do YOU pay and not the BOY» when I handed over my debit card. So if that might offend you, be ready for it.(I find it delightful.) Out of the three Chinese Food places in town, this one is by far my favorite.

Only Chinese place in town that actually tastes like real chicken meat. Fried rice could be better but it’s not bad by any means. The first time I got it the crab rangoons were over fried but today they were perfect. Also fastest delivery out of all the Chinese restaurants in town.

I used to eat here a lot, but it’s been years. I’m not sure of it’s even the same people from last time. I just went through the drive thru. I ordered Mongolian Beef, which is something I order frequently at different Chinese restaurants. I waited for quite a long time for my order, which isn’t that unusual for this type of place. There were wasps all around the drive thru, so be careful if you’re waiting. I had to keep my windows rolled up to keep the wasps out. When I got home, I was really shocked at the appearance of the food. It was really clumpy and congealed; there was barely any meat. I took a couple of bites, but really didn’t like the taste at all. The rice was okay, so I picked out the few pieces of meat and ate then with the rice. I threw the rest of the icky mess away. I won’t be back.

Decent food for a cheap price. Good quantity, though! Tried the sesame chicken and Kung Pao chicken with hot and sour soup. Not really worth waiting in the drive thru, just park and wait inside. Haven’t tried the delivery, yet. Will be coming back!

We love Hong Kong Express! It is our favorite Chinese in town. We had lived here nearly 2 years before trying it because we figured this little hole in the wall couldn’t be THAT good. Boy, were we wrong! Typical Chinese food menu. Always piping hot and quick. The dine in isn’t great but we love eating in every now and then. The owner’s children are often about and checking on customers. Most Chinese gives me a stomach ache from the MSG, but I’ve never had one with this place. Check it out!

This was an embarrassment to Chinese food. Only got four prices of chicken and three pieces of steak in a meal. Cheap but not filling. Friend rice was just white rice with veggies mixed in. Wasn’t even mixed together. Not Chinese at all.

Hong Kong Express is a family favorite in my house. The outside and inside could use a complete makeover but overall the food is really good and I’ve never had a bad experience with the service. We usually take the food to go because I don’t care much for the way it looks like inside, but the food has been really good every time we have ordered from there.

Even if the place looks a little sketchy, the chinese is the best in town… if you’re a student they take UCM points which is convenient. They deliver… service is great. Not bad prices but you get a lot of food. All in all a great place to eat, the actual place could be in better shape though.

Hong Kong Express is a Warrensburg legend. Practically on campus, it’s great any day of the week– but I especially enjoyed walking over there for lunch from campus on a rainy or snowy day, as they offer free soup for the dine in customers. The prices are reasonable– my favorite is the Pu Pu Platter which is a combination of appetizers. Two adults can eat dinner for $ 20 total. The delivery is fast and always fresh– this is definitely a place you don’t want to miss in Warrensburg!
