Tried stopping by this old favorite today for the first time since I moved out of town — apparently the place had a fire some time ago, and is now being rebuilt as a siding company or some such??? The three star rating is because I’m posting this for informational purposes only. If they ever reopen at a new location, GETTHERE — the food, while it was a bit pricey, was FIVESTARTOPNOTCH, and maybe the best barbecue I’ve ever eaten!!! You can talk Gates, Bryant’s and Jack Stack, and I’d put Fosters with or above any of em based on what dish you were talking about — it was THAT good! Please come back Fosters, we miss you!

This BBQ place is great! But… If you’re one of those people who only want a particular item then this isn’t your place. Ask before ordering what’s good right now and they will tell you. So if you eat bbq like that it’s the best around, but if you want the same thing cook the same way everything this is a 3 star joint. It’s a hole but when he tells you what’s really good when you show it well its 5 stars good. I love the place but I eat everything and sometimes call ahead. Serving sizes are great, share an order of fries. Well to end it, when his ribs are good… Wow they are amazing best I have ever been and I have been just about everywhere.

Well, this one was a interesting find. I had to think about this one before I posted. First of all, the menu was fun to check out, and ordering was a breeze. The food was pretty expensive, my total was $ 14 for just me. I got my food, ate it, and was full. That was a win. The BBQ sauce is pretty good and the portions are plenty enough. Then the visit took a turn for the worse. Payment was a disaster. They didn’t have change for a $ 20, so the woman who was checking us out just stared at me and reminded me that she didn’t have any ones or fives. I ended up just leaving the $ 20 there and walking out. They acted like it was just normal to rip off a customer. Never again… never again…

I ate there once. Walking in the door you see a terribly filthy building, dirty floors tables everything! I ordered the bbq ham and fries. A kid took my money and walked away. I sat down for 25 minutes and finally the kid comes back and puts my food on the counter. I took a couple of bites, spit it out because it tasted like old rotten meat, then proceeded to the counter to tell the kid that it was bad and he never came back. I left the store with nothing and spent $ 15. The only thing that was good was the warm can of soda he gave me.(Ya I was that thirsty) The following week I went back to tell them what happened and they were closed by the health department with a zero rating. In the past 10 years he has been closed about a dozen times from the health department. I’ll never eat there again. Rotten meat left outside in the summer is unacceptable. Oh and they cater too so be careful.

Checked Unilocal’s ratings while sitting in the restaurant waiting for our food. Wasn’t sure what to expect as this was our first Perry Foster’s experience. We were both SO surprised by how delicious the food was. Hubby ordered beef/pork combo sandwich, I ordered burnt ends & we shared fries. Meat’s not fatty & the fries looked like they were actually once potatoes. Way too much food, but some of the best bbq we’d tasted. THe sauce is sweeter than hot & really good on the fries. The restaurant’s kind of kitschy, but clean, restroom is adequately supplied & the owner is super friendly. The food comes on styrofoam, but that just doesn’t matter because the it’s SO good. Next time I’m ordering ribs & sweet potato fries. Oh yeah, I’ve already decided what I’m ordering next time!

A sloppy cold sandwich was $ 9. Greasy, limp fries were $ 4. A warm can of soda was $ 2. You eat with a plastic fork on a Styrofoam plate. Yuck is my best description of the place. Go somewhere else!

Perry Foster’s is our favorite barbecue joint in the state of Missouri. They make it Georgia-style and the helpings are HUGE. Pork shoulder sandwiches as big as your head! The last time I was there I had the half rack of ribs, and I’m not sure I’ve ever had better. It’s hard for me to believe that there are three reviews for this place with only one star… my wife, son, friends and I all love it, and will go out of our way on trips to and from Kansas City to stop in and pig out. Honestly, I have never been disappointed here and will definitely keep coming back for more. Highly recommended!

First of all isnt it Perry Fasters BBQ? Lets start off saying its a small shack lookin building on the South end of town. This small town BBQ joint is just that… a small town BBQ Joint. As many Warrensburg-ers love this place… I on the other hand do not find it very pleasing. This could be the fact that it has been closed multiple times after health inspections. When I ate there, I had heard many people raving about how«delicious» it was. Being the chicken lover I am, I decided to get chicken. This came like a leg but cut to the thigh… It looked a bit weird. The fries were ok but way too greasy. I am not sure how the food is cooked but I am not sure that I want to know. You walk in, order your food(which is pretty pricy for what you are getting), sit down and can take it out or stay in. Now I hate putting down Mom-And-Pop kind of places but there are some that are meant to be and others that are not… This is not a place I will be returning to or reccomending.

Once again closed by the health department. When I went the only customers were the softball team they sponsored.

I haven’t actually eaten here in about twelve years, but I drove by it today, and was surprised to see it is still there. This is because Perry has not always managed to stay on the good side of the powers that be. So, the fact that it is still going strong is testimony, I suppose, to the quality of the product. I think the sign out front still says«Georgia Style BBQ,» and though I’m not schooled enough in regional differences to confirm or refute this claim, I can tell you it compares favorably with Harold’s BBQ in Atlanta.

This is the BESTBBQ I have ever had bar none. And I have eaten in some of the best BBQ places in the world from Memphis, Kansas City, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Texas. Perry Fosters is my all time favorite. I’m not sure that many of the locals in Warrensburg even know how lucky they are to have such an awesome BBQ place in their town. I lived in Warrensburg for a while in the 80’s and go out of my way to go back whenever I can. My favorite item is the pork shoulder sandwich. But it’s really hard to go wrong with anything really.

This place is a staple to Warrensburg locals. True the health department has closed it down a couple of times but that is quickly not a factor after biting into your first Perry’s Rib. The baked beans are unparalleled and the potato salad is to die for. The reason the midwest is the most obese part of the united states is beacuse of GREATBBQ places like Perry’s. I lived in Warrensburg my entire life until college and this place is one of the few i request when i visit home. i mean come on, this guy used to cater for Derek Thomas(KC Chiefs) before his tragic passing. if you go to the place and look at all the memorabilia on the wall you will quickly realize that Perry’s is the perfect local BBQ place you’ve always wanted to find. I would go ahead and say it is better then Arthur Bryants AND Gates. a chiefs tailgate would not be complete without a plate of Perry’s Louisianna Style BBQ!
