I bought a gift certificate for a private lesson for my 11 year old nephew. I wanted to give him something that was an experience that he could remember forever, and hopefully, an introduction to an activity that would keep him excited and help him focus. None of us had ever held a bow and arrow before. It was SUCH a great time! My nephew got to try out 3 different types of bows. Farrin is SUCH a great teacher. It was truly a joy just to watch him with the kids and other students, young and old alike. He has such a great manner with our nephew, offering corrections without criticism, and sincere praise for a job well done. The whole staff is passionate and knowledgeable and there is a real commitment to being welcoming to newcomers to the sport and creating a family of passionate, safe, lovers of archery. I was so impressed!

Awesome staff and service! Brought my wife, new to archery, into get setup on her Mission Hype. She came out smiling ear to ear and extremely excited to get in to archery. Couldn’t recommend Farron and his staff more highly for pros or beginner shooters. Look forward to coming back for many years to come.

I bought a new bow only to find it came lacking an arrow rest or nock installed. I was delighted to find a store dedicated to archery within 35 miles that wasn’t a chain sporting good store, so I emailed them to see if they could install a rest and nock and if so how much. A day or two later I got a response saying that’s something they could help me with, but they didn’t answer the«how much» part of the question so I replied asking again with no response a second time. Next time I’m in the neighborhood during their business hours I’ll stop by, but I wasn’t going to drive more than 70 miles round trip without knowing what I was getting myself into. If I do and I have a positive experience, I’ll up my rating but for now I can only say«OK» due to poor communication.

Farron and his staff were amazing. I’m a relatively new to archery and they spent the time to get me setup properly(approx 2 hours). Much appreciated! You have a customer for life.

I came to this bow shop based on the reviews and wasn’t disappointed! I came in for a new string for deer season this year. Upon a quick inspection, Farron noticed several things wrong with my bow. He asked me if I was having trouble and described my issues to a tee. He quickly set me up with a new cable, string, cam, d loop, and peep. My bow is like a new bow. I love and am glad I came here. I recommend this shop to anyone interested in getting a bow or an experienced shooter. The customer service and attention given to me was above and beyond. Come here for all your archery needs!

Specialty stores like Hoffman’s are far and few between. The big stores, Walmart/Amazon, can not even come close to providing the knowledge and customer service you’ll find here. I am an absolute beginner and from the moment I set foot inside Hoffman’s I felt at ease and welcome. They are quick to answer any questions and readily offer up hands on tips. I was shooting arrows right inside the store in their little target area, got a wealth of information from doing that alone. Their pricing is great and very competitive with the ‘big store’ pricing… the only difference is that Hoffman’s will help you choose the perfect set up and equipment for what you actually need.

I visited this shop today for the first time. I am a fan. Fair prices, kind helpful expert staff eager to help you. If you are a beginner, or a pro, this is the shop for you.

I can’t say enough good things about this shop. Great staff and some of the best customer service I have experienced anywhere. These guys really care about their customers. I recommend bow hunting, and I recommend getting your start here.

This review is long over due. Back in 2008 I searched for a new bow for months starting at Hoffman since I live just down the street, I shot everything I came across. When I walked back into Hoffman, Farron and Ryan helped me like I was family, answered ALL of my questions, walked me through everything step by step, and gave me a deal that was absurd. I have been more than happy and satisfied with my bow. The staff is always helpful and willing to teach if you are willing to learn. I have learned a ton of stuff from that shop. Whether you are a seasoned hunter or don’t know a thing about archery, this is the place to go. I just got my bow tuned this week, and some extras and walked out of there at about half of what other places quoted me. This is the only place I’ll go for archery stuff, and where I am taking my 4 year old son to get his first bow.

I’m in the market for my first bow — for recreational target shooting. Two of my friends have recently bought bows and it looks like a lot of fun! I stopped in at Hoffmans to do some research. They were very busy when I arrived — a lot of customers! I waited my turn and talked to a couple of their staff — one man, and one young woman. She answered my questions and walked me though different scenarios, including which bow they’d recommend for me as a beginner, potential bow accessory options, and bow classes. Very nice people! I am a couple of months out from buying a bow — but they will remain at the top of my list as «where to buy» when I am ready to make the purchase. Great customer service!

I purchased three recurve bows at a live auction, and went to Hoffman to get them inspected and strung.(My intension was to sell them on eBay. I didn’t want to sell anything unsafe, and I thought they’d fetch more with a new, fitted string.) In the back of my mind, I was a little concerned that they would try to upsell me, or ignore me completely bacause I had not purchased the bows there. But in the end, I had no cause for concern. The young lady who helped me out took a hard look at each bow, approved two and deemed one unsafe.(I knew that two had cracks, but I couldn’t tell if the cracks were superficial or dangerous.) She then measured and strung the two approved bows, and then recommended the correctly weighted tips for the untipped arrows that came with my purchase. Even though the place was packed(on a Saturday during hunting season,) I was helped immediately and didn’t feel rushed at all. I had a great experience at Hoffman and will go back in a heartbeat the next time I acquire archery equipment for resale.

Terrific bow shop with a large inventory for the beginning shooter to the expert. Very active within the sport and community hosting events and 3D shoots which is value added. They hooked me up from the beginning introducing me to shooting a bow for the first time at the indoor range. They spent an hour and I wasn’t even intending to buy that day. I returned a few weeks later for a Mathews Monster based solely on this generosity and professionalism. I highly recommend Hoffman’s for the customer service and being just really personable individuals. They obvious love what they do. You definitely need a pro store if you are new to this sport. You need to be measured and matched to the right equipment. It’s very specialized and the prices and economy for buying right the first time is the watch word in this sport, There really isn’t a pro store as well equipped and as friendly as Hoffman’s. It’s worth the trip.
