The Warrington town fathers & mothers showed their vision of the future when they approved The Shops at Valley Square commercial development on Route 611. They did not see the big shopping malls of the 20th Century as enhancing the land values that surround them, but were open to the concept in modern urban planning that recognizes that people prefer to have consumer experiences on a more human scale. Capture the essentials of small town America in an attractive village-like setting, and they will come to spend money. They got that right. The Shops at Valley Square found the sweet spot for commercial enterprise for this era. Buildings designed to look like a country town, with sidewalks, narrow streets, street parking, buildings no taller than three stories, and attractive shops and restaurants that are as inviting on the outside, as they are within. Include the brands that people want and the eateries that beckon their hunger for relief, and success is almost assured. The facility is very attractive and inviting. We were there for dinner, and the choices were pretty good; Panera, Ted’s Montana Grill, P.F. Chang’s, Chipotle, and even a Wegman’s if we wanted to take home. It was easy to park near our destination, and fun to walk a few blocks to see what was going on. Not every municipality shows the foresight to bring in such a sparkling center that has become a destination for the surrounding communities, and beyond. Have a visit and enjoy the future.

I came in the late afternoon on a chilly but beautiful Friday. I’m not a fan of shopping, but I wanted somewhere to walk around(I was hoping for something like Pittsburgh’s Waterfront). This outdoor shopping area has lots of dining and shopping options, but because there is parking throughout the area, there were very few people walking around outside as we were. Music was playing outside, but it echoed rather sadly around the pedestrian-less area. It may have had something to do with the weather and time of day as well. Still, the area was beautifully designed. Dining options include The Melting Pot, P.F. Chang’s, Panera Bread, and Ted’s Montana Grill. There’s also a frozen yogurt place(Yogurtland). Clothing stores include Banana Republic, Pink, Gymboree, White House Black Market, and many more. There are also shoe and lingerie stores. Other stores include Yankee Candle, Bath and Body Works, Claire’s, and Eastern Mountain Sports.

The shopping center got better with the addition of Carmel Kitchen and Wine Bar. It needed a restaurant like that to go along with Ted’s. I’m glad that Champp’s never opened because they are awful, but Valley Square would benefit by having a sports bar to compete with Chickie’s(and that has craft beer). Something really needs to replace the old Border’s bookstore that went out three years ago.

The only cool, updated shopping area around here(moved from Houston so we are missing a lot!), love it.

I agree with manyof the valid points that DJ makes. Valley Square is by far the newest, hippest, coolest Shopping Center around. Good shopping, restaurants and plenty of free parking.

This is the coolest shopping center I have ever visited in my life! It’s like a small town, truly amazing and such a brilliant concept with streets of shops, condo’s and restaurants on 120 acres of what used to be farm land. It’s enormous and from what I was told they are still developing and only on phase one at this time. I hate shopping and I detest malls and I find shopping here a true delight, so easy to roam around, with beautiful store fronts, street lamps and sidewalks lined with flowers and benches The courtyards are filled with well maintained lawns and plenty of activities, especially for the kiddies. During the warmer months they host a Farmer’s Market which is rapidly growing allowing local vendors to sell their fresh produce, baked goods and crafts. Many shops with names you are familiar with, including Victoria’s and Borders, plus plenty of unique one of a kind shops line the streets and make it a breeze to browse or run in and out. It’s almost a one stop shopping center with a Wegman’s Grocery and shops galore that have almost anything you may be looking for. Plenty of restaurants and eateries inside this center make it hard to choose, from pizza to ice cream, Ted Montana’s Grill, P.F. Chang’s, Chipolte Mexican Grill, The Melting Pot, Panera Bread are all ready to feed you. I’ve been here for wine tasting’s at various shops, I love their Farmer’s Market and anxiously await them setting up shop, it’s a quaint village that makes me happy to go shopping and I love that they are Eco-friendly.
