If I could give 0 stars, I would! Let’s begin by me saying, I wouldn’t trust my stool sample being tested here! Dr. Ader’s office is filthy, it should be condemned. She is rough. We brought our 20, yes 20 year old INDOOR cat here during his last year of life. We had no prior vet care, he was the king. She was so rough with him, despite us telling her to be careful etc. He scratched and bit with how he was handled, and she demanded that he stay and be quarantined. I had to use the bathroom, there were bloody needles on the ledge of the sink and feces on the floor. Needless to say, we took our boy home, I walked out, and as we were walking out she said «Well if he dies within 2 days, you need to return him so we can dissect his head since he scratched and bit staff». Who says that?! Who disrespects a person and their beloved pet during such a hard time? To boot — she is a filthy scum bag. Her and her staff, as well as the house is like a damn hoarder’s episode! I felt so skeevats when I left. I don’t know how she continues to be licensed and the Dept of Health has not been involved… or maybe they have? Give it up, Ader! You suck!

I’ve taken my cats to Dr. Ader for years. Yes the office is unkempt; however, she gives excellent care to my pets. I have never had a problem bringing either of my cats here. She truly cares about the animals and she’s great at what she does.

I had taken my dog to Dr. Ader because he wasn’t acting normal (sad and lethargic) and she told me that he had a stone in his bladder after a series of tests and us insisting that something was wrong. She had us bringing him back and forth and giving us all kinds of medicine and special food to try and dissolve them. Every time we took our dog to her she would either lose the paperwork, think he was a she. it was just a mess. Finally we decided that we would go to a different vet after his urine sample was spilt all over his paperwork and she said it wasn’t her fault rather than just apologizing. I believe that she means well and is a good person inside but unfortunately not a good reliable vet. Her office was not clean and she never had the proper tools available to check the dogs. I just want to be honest for pet owners who are looking for the right vet. I hope this helps.

Took my dog here to get her annual exam. On the plus side the people were nice and the price was cheap. However it’s in a dilapidated house that’s behind a Burger King which makes it hard to find. The parking was dreadful (although there’s a lot of empty parking across the street). I think the biggest thing about this place is the filth and after reading other reviews it looks like this has been an ongoing thing.
When you walk up to the place there’s a lot of crap on the front porch so you don’t know where the entrance is. When you walk in the first thing you see is lots of papers stacked everywhere, soda cans and Fritos next to clean needles. Their scale doubles as their exam table. The place is filthy, unorganized, and smelly. I went for the cheap price but won’t ever be back.

She is less expensive.
Her office is less than clean.
My cat did not make it out of here after a kidney issue diagnosis.
Long and short. You get what you pay for.
If you are looking for cheap, regular vaccinations. Go here.
You need critical care? And your sweet kitty girl is your WORLD???
Please go elsewhere.

I have to disagree with the other reviewers — I’ve been to quite a few vets and veterinary offices in my life, and found Dr. Ader’s to be filthy and poorly run.
I brought 2 cats to her and she didn’t seem to have any idea what was wrong with them, didn’t recommend any diagnostic options, and seemed to be completely perplexed.
I do think her heart is in the right place, and that she fills a need — she is less expensive, and will treat a sick animal without proof of vaccination (or at least she used to).

love Dr. Ader! i happened upon her b/​c my iguana was sick, and after a bad experience with my dogs vet i decided to bring my dogs to her as well. she is very affordable and she really cares about the animals. she also will not give un-​needed meds or shots. she has even helped me out with my foster dogs if i bring them to her. her and her staff know my dogs, and me!
the table is quite high for a large dog, but the staff is always willing to help lift or you can just let them do it. they really need to update some of the technical aspects of the office such as obtaining a copy machine and a fax machine, and parking is really bad (but there is an empty lot across the road 30 feet away)… but other then those few downsides this is a GREAT vet.
$ 35 — $ 37 for a large dog routine exam, not including shots or and meds.

I’m a discriminating person about my own health and wellbeing and no less so about my pets. You’ll see on here, I give five stars for City Kitty which is a cat focused vet place in Providence, RI and welcomed by my cat. I’m going to tellyou about an equally great vet, that is Dr. Ader. Here’s the skinny:
Her office is simple and certainly doesn’t give you a sterile feel. In fact, it’s a bit busy with things here and there and a fairly small space as part of a larger house with an overnight, surgical area, etc. But the important thing is she knows what she’s doing and you get that off the bat. Her rates are very reasonable and in some cases, kind of cheap but not the care!
I take my pets there because she gets it with nearly all species, including exotics and that’s impressive. If you can imagine the old school veterinarian who lived in the country, treating all and all alike in one setting, that’s her. James Herriot books come to mind when I think of her slightly disheveled appearance and low key, gentle personality. This is a vet that is a well kept secret in Rhode Island and worth rooting out for the experience. The parking is small also but next to an off road so no big deal and I’ve never had a problem getting space. She is also open later than most vets, I’ve often gone at 6:30 pm and on Saturdays, likely some Sundays if you need her. You’ll see all levels of people and economic backgrounds crowding into her small practice with their beloved pet. One thing we all have in common, how much we trust her with our pet. It kind of reminds of this-​when you see people standing in a line outside a small joint to eat breakfast, you know the place may not be fancy but the food is out of this world and worth it. You’ll never stand in a line outside to see her or even close but that’s kind of the «small and unimpressive» but great experience of Dr. Patricia Ader’s practice.

Dr. Ader is the soul of animal care services. Her staff works so hard and is supportive of all pets and owners that walk through the door. This place is a bit hard to find, so call for directions. What you will get is a one on one vet visit where you will know for certain the very best, and we mean the very best diagnosis will be given to your pet. The costs are below other area providers, and while it’s never about money when dealing with the health of your furry family members, know you will get the best advise, from a woman who honestly has a very special gift for what she does. We love Dr. Ader.
