This review is for BLUENOSEYACHTSALES, which for some reason is listed in Unilocal under Bluenose Yacht Charters. I signed a contract to purchase a 38′ sailboat in Warwick, Rhode Island from Bluenose Yacht Sales that it had accepted in trade. I did that based in large part on their commitment to reimburse me for half the cost of the survey if it «did not pass» since I am located around 400 miles away and had no opportunity to see the boat beforehand. The survey uncovered a long list of deficiencies that were not identified in a recent survey of the same boat five months prior(I had obtained a copy). A number of these items rendered the vessel uninsurable, including a rapid propane leak(source unknown) that was identified in the prior survey yet inexplicably was not repaired by Bluenose Yacht Sales, and a leak at the air conditioner seawater strainer(cause unknown). There was a long list of other deficiencies that turned up in the survey I had done, including an inoperable AC/Heat system(one of two zones), a loose lower rudder bearing that required dropping the rudder to repair, inoperable engine compartment blower, broken latches and on and on. In addition, the sales contract called for Bluenose Yacht Sales to winterize/decommission the vessel within seven days AFTER the closing of the sale, yet the surveyor and I arrived to find Bluenose Yacht Sales already had the vessel decommissioned before the survey could be performed. This rendered the surveyor unable to test a number of the systems on the vessel — such as the automatic bilge pump, the fresh water system and the water heater — or to draw any conclusions as to their condition and operability. As a result, I notified Bluenose Yacht Sales that that I was canceling the contract and requested they make good on their offer to reimburse half the cost of the survey. The response from Glenn Walters, owner of Bluenose Yacht Sales, was that no boat is perfect, that my decision to cancel was likely due to my boating inexperience and that perhaps I should consider chartering instead of buying. He refused to reimburse me as promised. I would not consider doing business again with Bluenose Yachts based on this very disappointing experience.

Évaluation du lieu : 5 San Francisco, CA
I have been renting bare boat charters for years in various locations — San Francisco, Newport, British Virgin Islands, Florida, etc. Bluenose Yacht Charters has been the best charter company I have used. The head of the charter fleet, Sean, is amazing. The boats in their fleet are modern, in excellent condition, work perfectly, and very clean. The facilities at Warwick, RI are great. The boats are all on slips with dock power. There is a nice pool by the docks where you can unwind before and after your charter your boat. The public facilities(Bathrooms, Shower, and Laundry) are modern, clean, and in excellent shape. The docks are also well situated to shopping, so provisioning the boat is a breeze(nearby Stop ‘n Shop as well as the ease of loading up your boat on a slip). Sean is a great! He strives to provide an outstanding charter experience, both thought amazing communication and flexibility. All of my future bare boat charters in New England will definitely be through Bluenose. Heck, after seeing how they maintain and run their fleet — I might join there charter ownership program to offset the cost of my own boat :)
