I stayed this past weekend at the inn. The 2 guys running the place were super friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about the area. Also, the breakfasts they made each morning were freaking amazing! Stuffed french toast? Wow.
The downside for me personally was that I was in the ‘fox and the hound room.’ It was hotter that weekend than I would imagine it usually is there so my room was extremely hot. The window AC unit could not get the room to cool down even remotely and it was really hot and uncomfortable in my room, making it hard to sleep or really stay in the room. Also, my shower water pressure was extremely low. At times it would basically appear to be the pressure of a leaky faucet, and never really got higher than a drizzling sink (i took a video).
I understand it’s more the atmosphere than anything else, and in that aspect this place more than delivers. It was just the issues with the temperature and the shower that would keep me from returning.

If it was possible to give The Inn at Stony Creek more than five stars I would ! My husband and I travel often, we have never met such wonderful, gracious business owners as Bill and Joe. Their level of hospitality is unparalleled ! The Inn is charming and decorated flawlessly. Every room (I was given a tour of each room) is immaculate especially the bathrooms. No detail is overlooked. I loved looking around at all of the antiques and pictures. We stayed in the Fox and Hound room– Gorgeous wood four post bed, comfortable mattress, Luxurious linens, town guides and magazines in the sitting area, beautiful lighting, electric fireplace, beautiful soaps in the bathroom, bathrobes and chocolates set out every day in a beautiful bowl on the gorgeous antique chest.
Joe prepared a fabulous breakfast each morning. My husband is an executive chef, he raved about Joe’s baked eggs in a tart crust. The eggs are as fresh as you can get right from the chickens in their backyard. The dining area is picture perfect. Sunlight shining on the quaint tables set with china and fresh tulips. Coffee, tea, and cookies were available day and night on the buffet table.
The grounds are beautiful. Ducks in the pond, dear grazing, chipmunks and birds. So country perfect.
To say Bill and Joe exceeded our expectations is an understatement. I felt like we were leaving the home of friends we have had for years not inn keepers we just met.
We booked a weekend in June and a weekend in September before leaving. We can’t wait to go back.

My fiancé and stayed here this past weekend for our birthdays. It was amazing! We stayed in the appalachian room which had its own private entrance and parking right outside. The room was extremely clean, cozy and secluded. Every morning the owners, Bill and Joe make and serve a fresh breakfast (using fresh eggs from their chicken coop). The food was great and the service was even better. They even asked if you wanted a second serving! We arrived Saturday afternoon and asked for a cab service number to take us to the Warwick Valley Winery. Joe insisted that he drive us there and we call him to be picked up when we were ready. I thought that was absolutely above and beyond amazing service! Needless to say, we would definitely return for another weekend stay. We had a great time!

My wife and I received a gift certificate to stay at the Inn and we were both amazingly pleased with our 3 day getaway. Bill and Joe were nothing but amazingly helpful and kind. They truly give you an experience to remember. Their knowledge of the area, local restaurants and local events is amazing. We stayed in one of the newer rooms but we toured through the inn and would happily stay in any room. The room had a private back entrance which made it easier to come and go. The décor of the inn is very cozy and beautiful. Breakfast was amazing each morning they do so well catering to your needs. My wife was so excited about our stay she is planning another stay already.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Inn at Stony Creek this past weekend and were lucky enough to stay an extra day when the upstate area got over a foot of snow. The inn is beautiful, charming, clean, and run by the most accommodating innkeepers. Breakfast was delicious, we had our pick of movies, and even had help from Bill and Joe when our car got a little stuck in the snow.
Would absolutely recommend the Inn at Stony Creek so long as we book our room first ;) We will be back this summer to see the Warwick area in a warmer season.

The inn at Stoney creek is both beautiful and very relaxed. My husband and I were married there last weekend. Bill and Joe were wonderful. Both kind and supportive. They were able to help us in every-​way possible to make our wedding pretty and personal. Exactly what we wanted.

What a great experience!!! My boyfriend and I decided to venture up to the Bear Mountain area– for a hike and decided very last minute to stay in the Warwick area at a B&B and do a little wine tasting.
As soon as we arrived to the Inn– it was the perfect start to a romantic, magical evening. The Inn sits on (I believe) a few acres of beautiful country land. Everything just seemed so picturesque and peaceful! Bill greeted us as we pulled up– and showed us around the house. Everything is kept immaculate– and it was exactly what we looked for in our first B&B experience– it felt like home but with all the amenities of staying at hotel.
We stayed in the Lexington Room– which was great– as it had a separate entrance, an amazing jacuzzi and beautiful view of a pond, with ducks and chickens. The bed was reallly really comfortable (I had such a great night of sleep!) great sheets and the room also has a flat screen TV, cable, two wine glasses and a cork screw (plus some goodies!) O, and there is also free WIFI… Also, everything was really clean and nice! Great bathroom as well. Bill was really informative and give us printed directions to the Warwick Winery– and also there was a book of restaurants in the area (which was great– since we ended up picking this AMAZING place, Coquito for dinner). When we arrived back at the Inn after dinner– we met Joe– and they showed us their awesome movie collection– and we were able to choose a few movies to watch in our room (we pick Wayne’s World… what a classic!).
The next morning we woke up to the smell of amazing bacon cooking upstairs. We went into the dining room– had great coffee– and Bill and Joe served up this out of this world zucchini quiche and blueberry pancakes!!! The food was AMAZINGGGGGG– and the bacon.YUM. You can tell that EVERYTHING was extremely fresh and well prepared. I am still dreaming about that breakfast. I had to take mini breaks in between– because I wanted to make sure I could finish every single bite!!!
All and all we had a fantastic time– and we were really sad we could only stay one night! Bill and Joe are some of the sweetest, most accommodating people I have ever met– fantastic!!! They are REALLY helpful– and just want to make sure you have a great time while you stay with them and we sure did!!! HIGHLY recommend! And we will be back for a full weekend next time!!!

Most enjoyable experience. I had an occasion to stay at this lovely colonial inn and was taken by the charm and hospitality that was provided to me and my guest. The room was spacious and charming. The four poster bed with its extremely comfortable mattress gave me the best night’s sleep I have had in ages. The room was aglow from the fireplace and we sat in the two wing chairs and watched a DVD on a new flat screen TV. In the morning we were treated to a gourmet breakfast which was delivered to our room. This was no average breakfast. The meal consisted of stuffed french toast, fresh fruit, a healthy portion of bacon cooked to perfection.
Can’t wait to come back in the fall, this time for a two night getaway. Just a wonderful experience. It was one of those places you will never forget.

My wife and I received a gift certificate to stay here from friends. The owners and innkeepers Bill and Joe are exceedingly hospitable and gracious. My wife and I were upgraded (without asking) to the Americana Suite and while comfortable the setting is definitely a bit dated (smears on the ceiling, musty bedspread, dated furnishings). However, the prices are reasonable and I definitely feel it was a great value.
The breakfast was simple and tasty, something my wife and I might have prepared on a weekend morning (juice, french toast with fruit, cereal). Nothing too fancy or over the top.
It was a lovely experience, however…
We had a highly concerning ethical situation develop with the innkeepers, and while I wouldn’t let it deter you from staying there, I would strongly advise you do not purchase any gift certificates. Specifically, my wife and I were given a $ 300 gift certificate that we misplaced — we couldn’t remember the value and when we called, after several back and forths we were told they found a record of the gift certificate and it was for $ 150 — an amount we just accepted as we couldn’t dispute it at the time. Later, when we found the actual physical gift certificate I wrote Bill and Joe and they adamantly refused to offer a refund, claiming initially that we were not owed the difference because 1) we had been upgraded from a normal room to a suite and then when we challenged that logic (how can you charge for something given and not asked for?), 2) that they never had a record of the gift certificate sale and that out of generosity they offered to honor a gift certificate they had no record of (if so, why were we told it was for $ 150 initially, after several rounds of calls back and forth?)
To believe their logic would be to believe they do not log or keep books for gift certificate sales, which frankly we just don’t believe.
Note had this gift certificate fracas never occurred we would have had a delightful time and this review would likely be 4 stars instead of 2.
I would note that it is my distinct impression the Bill and Joe monitor their review ratings on TripAdvisor and Unilocal carefully and make every effort to remove negative reviews. As a result I would handicap the reviews, particularly on TripAdvisor.
I sincerely hope this review is helpful, and not malicious. I just feel it’s our responsibility to flag this incident.

Addendum: Following this review Bill emailed me and began to attack and criticize me in highly distressing manner, claiming I have smeared and misled the public, calling me ‘delerious’ and stating that I have financial and character issues. Again, we had a good experience at the Inn, but I think venturing outside of a very defined financial exchange would be ill-​advised (I would be very clear about cancellation policies, etc., anything that is subject to discretionary judgment vs. contractually enumerated). It has been in this ‘gray’ area that our experience quickly deteriorated.

Further addendum: We have received a couple of supportive emails from others who have also had erratic experiences with the owners at the Inn at Stony Creek, which in my opinion supports our simply bizarre experience and also that Bill & Joe have made every effort to remove negative reviews. Indeed, our TripAdvisor review has now disappeared.

Many thanks to Joe and Bill for giving us such a great experience. Due to funeral services, we had some special needs (check-​in early, breakfast early the next day, etc) which they met 100%.
The Lexington Room was private, comfortable, warm, cozy, great, etc. The food was fantastic, and made-​to-​order (as opposed to other properties where I’ve stayed that are «you’ll eat what I bring you».)
Joe and Bill… you really made it a wonderful experience for what would have otherwise been a sad visit to Warwick. Thanks… I hope to visit again soon!

Firstly I must state I also run an inn so I may notice things others might not. The owners Bill and Joe are a delightful couple who enjoy hospitality as well as keeping a good home. We took their Americana suite which was spacious, but we felt a little cluttered with too much furniture, really you don’t need so many things filling up a wonderful space. Due to the time of the year and exceptional rainfall there was a slight mustiness to the room, but it was nothing major as the building is an old building. The bed and mattress was we felt coming towards the end of it’s life, but we usually sleep in a king bed so it may well have been our lack of closeness and wriggle factor.
The room was certainly quiet, apart from the ‘murmurings’ of the clients opposite our room who seemed to be not only into each other… but also had a lot of each other to be into! How a lady so young can get such large hips defies our imagination, and plainly as we observed her climbing the stairs. exercise was not a regular part of her life. But this was a minor interruption as their morning ‘discussion’ was brief… probably as it was too much exercise!
Breakfast was delicious and the scones, which being British we would not serve at breakfast, were excellent… so much so we asked for recipe! Our only minor complaint as tea drinkers was that the hot water came from a coffee machine, and tea needs boiling hot water in order to steep well. Overall we were satisfied and Bill was a great conversationalist and was happy to illuminate our ideas as to what one could see, do and eat locally.
Our only suggestion would be to put the original juke box in the main part of the inn, as it is really original, still working with a fantastic sound, and Bill changes the selection of music regularly. This is we feel a major missed opportunity as the kitchen is not the place to have it! Also the inn room fridge and microwave are we felt not needed and the fridge had the infernal fridge hum. Our suggestion would be to put them upstairs in the breakfast room where clients who want them can easily use them?
The one major hit about the inn is it’s location which is QUIET!
