This is a no frills whatsoever bowling alley with the small balls. I had a groupon for up to 6 people to play so went to check it out. We made a reservation as they do have leagues on a Thursday night and they were very accommodating. This place is great for a low key fun night with friends. The best part is you can take in your own food. A lot of people in the league were bringing in pizza and take out so even though they sell food there they don’t mind outside food.
I kept thinking what a great place for a kids birthday party, so cheap and you can bring in some party pizza, cake, and drinks from elsewhere and this would save a lot of money.
The person at the desk was really nice and got us set up quickly. Definitely would return in the future!

Meh. We had a playdate with our local moms group here and while the kids had fun the staff left much to be desired. The girl at the front desk was pretty rude about telling us their reservation policy. Apparently we made arrangements with the «wrong person», sounds like that is an internal problem and nothing something we should be reprimanded for. She also made us wait a long time to have the lanes turned on and ready to go. Fifteen 1 – 5 year old kids don’t understand the concept of waiting their turn for almost 25 minutes, it was utter chaos.
The lanes themselves could use some updating. There was duct tape holding our ball return together and we had multiple instances of the lanes not resetting with a full 10 pins.
Overall I wasn’t very impressed. I may come again but only because it’s the closest duck pin bowling alley to my house.

Had purchased a groupon so we took the whole family! Had a fantastic time! The only thing that would’ve made the experience better would have been if we had been able to get a lane with bumpers for the kids.

Even though this place is older and a lane breaks down almost every time, its good cheap fun and i always have a good time there. They also make pizza here thats pretty good.

Meadowbrook was *this* close to getting just two stars, but i just had too much fun there to do that to them. In fairness, my good time was more due to the group of bowling compatriots that accompanied me there, but a fun is fun.
Rhode Islanders (really any east coaster) shouldn’t need this explanation, but for others that might not know this, Meadowbrook features duckpin, not tenpin bowling (although there are 10 pins — they’re just smaller and so is the ball that you throw at them). If you’re not very good at bowling, this is a plus, because it’s much tougher to bowl a high score in duckpin.
Other Observations:
— they allowed ‘outside’ food to be brought in (we got pizza delivered)
— there is a bar somewhat attached to the alley
— although dated, things are kept in fairly good repair
