Not knowing much about septic systems, I advised dispatch that I would need to locate the cap, and that I had pulled the plans for my house. The technician came to the house, literally stuck a shovel to the ground without digging, and told me, «Oh, I’m sorry, I can’t find it.» Granted, it was a hot day, but having told dispatch the service I needed, I assumed that the technician would actually try to provide the service. When I questioned him further, he said, «Oh, I’m not good at finding things,» as he got in his truck to leave. He suggested I call someone else. I called dispatch back to complain and was told, «Oh, we don’t dig – you have to find it for us.» I asked why this was not communicated when I said I would need the tank located? I was given a number for another company, who performed the task admirably.
